The Evercade handheld console is getting two more cartridges soon, both packed with retro titles from back in the day. If you're a fan of Rival Turf – also known as Rushing Beat – then you're in for a treat.
Jaleco Collection 1 is perhaps of most interest; it comes with Bases Loaded, Astynax, Brawl Brothers, City Connection, Earth Defence Force, Super Goal! 2, Totally Rad, Rival Turf, Operation Logic Bomb and Ignition Factor – if you're an old-school Nintendo fan, then you'll recognise a lot of those names.
The Piko Interactive Collection 2 includes: Power Football, Hoops Shut Up and Jam, Hoops Shut Up and Jam 2, Summer Challenge, Winter Challenge, Brutal Sports Football, Eliminator Boat Duel, Full Throttle All American Racing, Top Racer 2, Soccer Kid, Football Madness, World Trophy Soccer and Racing Fever.
The new cartridges will launch in Q1 2021; if you like what you see, you can register your interest here.

Shut up and jam 2? Is that what I think it is?
This is great news. I have just got an Evercade and loving it so far. The Piko vol. 2 looks decent but the Jaleco looks full of retro goodness.
Not bad. I doubt I will buy one. I am waiting on the Amico probably.
Lots of mediocre games I can live without.
Street Fighter?
@AxeltheBuizel a sandwich making sim.
This handheld is suprisingly sweet, even if it's for a very niche audience.
I'm glad it's popular enough to see more releases!
Crazy! I just ordered an Evercade with the 10 carts early this morning. This is great news!
I'll pre-order as soon as I can.
Why is M. Bison in the main image?

@getyourak the link is wrong, try https://www.evercade.co.uk/
This keeps on being cool, but I just bought a RG350M
I'm going for a complete set, that is, if they can keep up the quality. These two seem allright.
wish they would make a dinky little console for 2 players to plug into the tv as well
@AxeltheBuizel if it is, it means the next cart will have Gaiden. The best in the series
I've never seen the console back in stock on Amazon after it sold out before its release, but I was really interested.
I do like the idea of Evercade, but man they need to sort out their curation. If it's not lacklustre versions of coin-ops, it's compilations of mid to low tier games like these.
@ZelthkingYoutube most those games didn't have saves back then. They are all short enough you could play through them in a few hours. You sure the games weren't just too hard for you?
@Anguspuss Yeah, I refuse to play on a TV with a HDMI cable stretched across the room, it should have supported wireless controllers
Please keep walking, nothing to see here!
I bought this at launch and tbh I haven’t really played it that much , saying that i still think it’s a great piece of kit. I like the idea of collecting the set so I have got all the carts so far . I’m gonna preorder these ones too. I like the look of the jaleco one. Though I think the piko one is my least favourite so far , way too many sports games
@holygeez03 Street Fighter work dried up.
Ok, but I'd really like for this thing to not have exclusives. Why can't I get Mappy Kids on the Switch? I'd buy it.
@AxeltheBuizel Yes, there were two Shut Up and Jam! games made officially. (though I don't think the second got as much attention, and it was also only released on Genesis, whereas the first was on both Genesis and SNES.) Then many years later, the more famous RPG Maker fan-game Gaiden.
Obviously, the game had to be slightly edited for licensing.
I'm surprised with Totally Rad, they don't include the Japanese version Magic John. It's quite a bit different, but I guess if they only picked one, I guess it's better they pick the more meme-worthy version with a localization firmly grounded in 1991.
If Soccer Kid is the game I think it is (I believe it was called Marko's Magic Football in the UK), the Evercade just got a lot more appealing.
@AxeltheBuizel Yes, although it appears that master Charles won't be joining the jam this time.
Brutal Sports Football is a great game. Combined with Top Racer 2 and Soccer Kid, the Piko collection is a must-buy for me.
@AxeltheBuizel I believe so, with Charles Barkley removed.
Whoever is still paying full retail price for an SD card with roms should never learn about emulation
@Kabloop Operation Logic Bomb is on the Switch online too (and is actually one of the better games mentioned in this article). I can't really think of a good reason to own these two collections though, they really are average at best aren't they!
