Re: Switch 2 'Drag x Drive' Estimated File Size Revealed By Nintendo

I can't see what makes this worthy of a $20 price tag. I mainly see one main gameplay experience and little else to supplement it. I'll bet a free demo wouldn't be a far cry from the full game in terms of content — folks would see nearly everything and probably have their fill of the game without ever paying for it.

Fast Fusion is a more engaging game at $15, and it has more to show off in both presentation and gameplay modes. And you can even play it in handheld mode.

Re: Sunsoft Hosting New Digital Event To Announce Upcoming Titles

I remember the last time Sunsoft "was back," all the way in 2009. The Wii saw some of their games come to VC, and "Blaster Master Overdrive" was a thing. If there was anything else to it beyond that, I don't know what it would've been.

I feel like they've still been around some way or another, mostly in Inti Creates' "Blaster Master Zero" trilogy and a few guest appearances in other games like Penguin Wars. If this really is a ramping up, it'll be interesting to see.

Especially if their logo featured Aero the Acro-Bat again...

Re: Ring Fit Adventure Switch Sales Have Now Surpassed 14 Million

@EriXz I can only guess Ring Fit appealed to the broader demographic they normally went after during the Wii/DS era. Imagine the kinds of folks who played Wii Sports on the regular and try to imagine how many of them would be into a Metroid game.

I'm more curious to see the ratio of Western to Japanese consumers for Metroid Dread, and whether it's gotten any more enticing in Japan.

Re: Talking Point: Could 'Mario Kart 9' Be The Smash Bros. Ultimate Of Racers?

If they're gonna pull anything from Smash, it better be an expanded level of gameplay customization. Disable or enable specific items, not just vague options. Turn coins on or off. Choose to store 1 or 2 items. Decide the number of laps, and the number of racers. Make a number of teams, or every racer for themselves.

It would be disappointing if we couldn't make racing in the game more personal. Let us try out out own ideas for fun. That was something Sakurai let players do with a number of his projects, like Kirby Air Ride and Meteos. I feel like games such as Mario Kart and Mario Party could benefit from that level of flexibility too.

Re: Two Namco Classics Join Hamster's Arcade Archives This Week

Interestingly, Xevious has a feature in the Arcade Archive release that lets you enable targets showing where the hidden Sol citadels and Special Flags are located, along with a display showing a difficulty number that increases and/or decreases depending on what happens in the game.

I've only seen this same feature offered in the DS Namco Museum, but they seem to be going a little further with these BaNam releases. The Pac-Man one even has toggles to enable or disable the Level 256 kill screen, and to change the names of the Japanese ghosts to different "nicknames"....but not the ones you expect.
