Gah, left my Wii U at uni and won't be able to take advantage of the Legend of Kay discount in time. This is why Nintendo need an online storefront like its competitors have had for years.
Taking this with a pinch of salt, and if it's true then I"m disappointed as there were much more deserving choices. (And that's coming from the guy with the Shovel Knight icon!)
Also quite disappointed in NL for reporting on this... no actual source and even if it was true, it's a bit irritating to have "Shovel Knight" immediately in the headline. Some people prefer not to have the surprise ruined.
@TwilightAngel The general release pattern for a Nintendo console is for it to be revealed briefly at one E3, announced formally at the following E3, and released shortly afterwards. If the NX follows that pattern (and it likely will), that would mean we wouldn't be getting any Nintendo games until the end of 2017.
Of course Nintendo will still be releasing on the Wii U.
Really like the look of it. My only issue is that the pre-made levels in the book give you codes to watch videos to teach how you to make them - surely it would be easier to just give us the levels themselves?
@Webby-sama But that's really not the issue here. The problem is that this happens every time there's a major release on the eShop. It shouldn't take two and a half hours to download DLC.
@Grafeaux In my defence, you never mentioned in that comment that you had a family of 5...
But anyway, that's really sweet! It's adorable to see entire families who play video games together. And once the update is released in August, you'll be able to form a team together!
amiibo hunters really have gone too far this time.
In all seriousness, I hope the driver of the lorry is okay. I'm sticking with the normal edition of the game they offered me as the £10 I save on that can hopefully be used if they restock the amiibo 3-pack (and I don't see why they wouldn't, given the marketing push they're giving this game). At least I still get a cool hat!
These are still released separately on the VC, right? I'm in the UK so haven't been able to check on the eShop, but everywhere I've seen has them on the same listing.
Got my Dr. Mario amiibo! I'm pretty sure he acts as a regular Mario amiibo in other games and seeing as I don't have a Mario one yet, it'd be nice to have a fairly unique one. (Even better if he turns out to be rare!)
@rdrunner1178 @sketchturner NintenDaan has been playing it recently and has said he's quite underwhelmed. The footage for the 3DS version in particular is pretty underwhelming as the framerate is abhorrent.
I'm still really looking forward to trying the Wii U version. Hopefully we get a demo over here.
@Quorthon I think you'll find what I'm "basically saying" is that I'm a student and don't have a massive disposable income to spend on games as and when they come out. I try my best to keep up with new releases but smaller ones such as this aren't a massive priority for me.
I think action needs to be taken with retailers too, who need to make parents aware of exactly the content they're letting their kids access. Too often I'll see a mother buy her 8-year-old son a copy of GTA V and clearly have no idea exactly what's on the disc. It's irresponsible and parents need educating.
Super excited for this to come to Europe. The first Battle Network on VC was my first exposure to the Mega Man series and it turned me into a serious fan.
@earthboundlink In that case, there's the discount you'd then get for the Wii U version. You'll be saving more money that way than you would have with the throwback sale.
@AugustusOxy Well, I at least laughed. And anyway, that's hardly the sole opinion of Nintendo Life - the game's been absolutely ripped to shreds everywhere.
I'll be getting Pit, simply because I've been waiting for some kind of Kid Icarus merch. From Wave 2 I'll be getting Toon Link as he's one of my Smash mains and unlocks stuff in MK8 and Hyrule Warriors, and then hopefully later I'll get Bowser Jr. and Dark Pit, my other mains.
Although really I'm crying out for a Roy Koopa amiibo.

Re: Nintendo Download: 3rd September (Europe)
Have to say, I'm impressed! £25 eShop card should cover me for Runbow, Sin & Punishment, both StarTropics games and a Gunman Clive double dip.
@Spideron Just a typo, the price is £9.34.
Re: European Club Nintendo Has a Lovely Last Hurrah With the Nintendo Sound Selection Double CD
@EllenJMiller I'm not optimistic about that. This one seems a lot more tied to CN than the Animal Crossing one did.
eBay it is!
Re: European Club Nintendo Has a Lovely Last Hurrah With the Nintendo Sound Selection Double CD
This wasn't on the list of forthcoming gifts, right? I'm annoyed.

Re: Nintendo Download: 27th August (Europe)
£50 for Devil's Third? WOW.
Re: Limbo Looks Set to Finally Arrive on the Wii U eShop
Erm... why? Seems like a really pointless port.

Re: Nintendo Apologises for eShop Issues Caused by High Super Smash Bros. Traffic, Urges Patience
This is bordering on ridiculous now. Nintendo really will never learn, will they?
Re: Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice Is Dashing To The Nintendo 3DS This Winter
...seriously?
Re: USK Reiterates That IARC, A Quick and Global Age Ratings Option, Will Come to the eShop
@Artwark Nintendo can get games like GTA already - the DS even got an exclusive one (at the time). They get the same age ratings as any other console.
It's developers who don't want to bring GTA to Nintendo consoles because they don't think it will sell.
Re: Natsume Is Bringing Smartphone Title Ninja Strike To The Wii U eShop
I'm glad they're supporting Wii U but this is really, really disappointing.

Re: Review: Splatoon (Wii U)
@Grafeaux In what universe are you getting a good deal there? You do realise you can only play with one copy of Splatoon at a time, right?

Re: More Club Nintendo Goodies Coming To The European Stars Catalogue
Oh my LORD, I need that Toad lamp. Hopefully I can still afford it.
Re: Nintendo Download: 21st May (Europe)
I'll be picking up Paper Mario seeing as I"ve had it on Wii VC for ages and still never played it past the first chapter.
Great to see Epic Yarn hitting the eShop too! One of the Wii's gems.
Re: Nintendo Reveals Pushmo: Hippa Land For 3DS eShop, Out Now In Japan
According to Miiverse, the American title is "Stretchmo". I assume it'll be Stretchblox in Europe.
Re: Mega Blastoise Event Launches in Pokémon Shuffle, as Free-to-Play Title Passes Three Million Downloads
This is a terrible idea. Imagine if Pokemon were locked away to only the top 10k players in the regular series games.
This game started out so well but it's slowly turning into more and more of a money-grab, with the near-impossible added levels and stuff like this.
Re: Garfield and Paddington Bear to Star in Upcoming 3DS Blockbusters*
Garfield Kart doesn't look half bad, actually.
Re: Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem Set For Modern Times "In The Real World"
WE SHOULD HAVE LISTENED

Just in time for my birthday!
Sadly I'm hearing... not good things about it

Re: Fresh Legend of Kay Anniversary Screenshots Stalk Into View
@JLPick PS4 and PC too, as far as I can tell.
Re: Fresh Legend of Kay Anniversary Screenshots Stalk Into View
This looks pretty solid and I'll probably get it after another inevitable price drop.
@Espy I wasn't aware your Wii showed HD visuals? That's pretty cool.

Good.

Re: Review: Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley (3DS)
Disappointed but not surprised. Serves Natsume right for getting greedy with the IP.
Re: SteamWorld Heist's Capers Face a Delay
I'm willing to wait a little longer if it means it'll be as well-polished as Dig was. Turn-based strategy isn't really my thing anyway.

Super excited for this to come to Europe. The first Battle Network on VC was my first exposure to the Mega Man series and it turned me into a serious fan.
Re: Ubisoft's Unreleased and Finished Wii U Game Has Apparently Been Identified
Comes to something when developers don't even want to release shovelware on the Wii U
Re: Weirdness: Sega Features the Infamous Knuckles Infinite Jump Glitch in the Sonic Boom Cartoon
It's not part of the cartoon. The YouTube uploader added it in.

Re: Reminder: Club Nintendo New 3DS Ambassador Promotion Final Invites Sent, Deadline at Midnight
Still nothing for me. Feeling pretty put out by Nintendo right now.
Re: 3D After Burner II Set to Jet Into Europe on 15th January
@Scary_Old_Lady I think that's used when the game is not available in other European languages.
Re: Here's a Handy amiibo Compatibility Infographic
To what extent has the Toon Link functionality been confirmed? It appears to be mentioned on the Japanese amiibo site but not the UK one.
Re: Poll: Fake Wave 4 amiibo Images Make Us Dream of More Figures
@KeeperBvK The third and fourth waves in Europe are one big third wave in America, I think.
Re: GAME's Zelda: Majora's Mask Pre-Order Bonus Is Going To Go Down Well With Office Workers
"bit.ly/HYAARRGH" Game's pricing and website may be awful, but their sense of humour is up there.
Re: Nintendo Download: 25th December (Europe)
I was going to get Captain Toad shortly after Christmas, but now I want all the GBA games, Child of Light, and Duck Hunt - which adds up to £26.25!
Hopefully there are sales on eShop cards on Boxing Day.
Re: Sonic Boom is Doing Pretty Well!
@AugustusOxy Well, I at least laughed. And anyway, that's hardly the sole opinion of Nintendo Life - the game's been absolutely ripped to shreds everywhere.

Re: Rodea the Sky Soldier Now Flying Into a Spring 2015 Release in Japan, for Wii U and 3DS
I've wanted this since the trailer. Praying for a Western release.
Re: Eon Ticket StreetPass Relay Announced for Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire in the UK
Hopefully there'll be other ways to get it. I live in a big city so hopefully this won't be too hard for me, but for others it's terrible.
Re: Nintendo Download: 6th November (Europe)
What about that leaked Shovel Knight release date? I'll hold out hope for a surprise date announcement
Re: Yet More Mario 3DS HOME Themes Arrive in Japan, Smash Bros. Options on the Way
I'd really like that Cat Mario theme. It's really cute and quirky (and especially if it's free).
Re: Super Smash Bros. 3-Poster Set Now Available from Club Nintendo in North America
Ringtones? What an awful reward for Europe. Most people know how to make their own, and the rest are smart enough to google how.
