I finally finished the spire and got all 100 stars, but did anyone else run across a bug in the dungeon that ended your run? I've encountered a quest that requires me to beat a certain monster three times, but that monster doesn't appear in that level at all. So I guess I'm done, lol!
@gaga64 I'm guessing it's maybe because Semblance is a completely new release and a console-exclusive, unlike games like Limbo and Mega Man Legacy Collection, all of which have been around for a while on other consoles. It looks like they're just trying to put a spotlight on some variety here, but I wouldn't get too hung on which games made the top three and which were honorable mentions. Lists like this are fun but probably shouldn't be taken as definitive.
It's always been N-E-S and S-N-E-S for me, but I can see why some would say Ness and Sness. At least in the US, we're very inconsistent in our pronunciation of acronyms. Everyone says Nassa for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (not N-A-S-A), but then we say E-P-A for the Environmental Protection Agency (not "epah"). Whatever floats your boat, I guess.
@SDF_Macross77 Just fyi, based on the reviews of the PC version of this game, there are substantial RPG elements. Several of the reviews refer to a "card-based" system.
@jobvd Yeah, I understand what you're saying about the tilt for the blue notes. It took some getting used to for me, but once I did, I felt like it worked pretty well. Like I said above, though, I prefer the other control options overall.
We already have two modded sets with d-pads on the left joy-con (one Ice Blue N64 style, one Indigo GC style), so we don't really need these. That said, they're both so cool looking I may consider picking them up. Still, I'd be happier if they priced them higher, made them full-featured, and offered matching sets.
I love Hogan's Alley. Not sure how much actual light gun games are possible for the Switch, but I wish they were. I have a real soft spot for on-the-rails shooters in general and the classic Zapper games in particular.
@NintyNate No, that’s not what I said at all, lol.

Sure, we double-dipped on some of these so we could have them on-the-go on the Switch, but we’ve definitely found plenty to keep us busy for the foreseeable future. Plus, there are already tons of other games on my wishlist/maybe-list in the Switch eShop.
Not one crap game on that list, IMHO. But then I do have exceptionally good taste.
@Tao Yeah, we're not Nintendo-only people, but I don't tend to get a lot of indie stuff on the PS4 or XBO, as I generally prefer to play those kinds of games in handheld mode and I just rarely find myself making time for the Vita these days. I have a Steam account but don't really enjoy PC gaming, since I spend so much time on my computer for work. And again, the handheld advantage is huge for me.
Anyway, you make a good point, but "I've already played some of these elsewhere" isn't the same as "everything on the eShop is crap" (as a few others seem to claim).
@NintyNate I'm finding the opposite to be true. From my perspective, the Switch has so many good to great games on the eShop that it's impossible to keep up. My backlog is already crazy, and the system has been out for less than a year and a half.
@JayJ From what I've seen, some people seem to dismiss anything that isn't AAA or coming from a major publisher as "shovelware." There are a lot of smaller/indie games on the eShop that might not appeal to you or me personally but whose developers put a lot of love into the project. Those aren't shovelware, and if some people use that term to dismiss many if not most eShop offerings, then the term has ceased to have any real meaning. Personally, I've been impressed by the sheer number of high-quality eShop offerings for the Switch. I can't come close to keeping up these days.
@Rhaoulos Sure, there are some risks, but I've had almost entirely positive experiences as a backer over the years. There are a lot of great creative projects/products that wouldn't be possible without KS or similar sites.
@SuperC142 The removable center divider with built-in game storage is a big step-up, IMHO, and I prefer the look of these bags as compared to the Waterfield cases, especially the option of a full-leather exterior. It just looks classier (less rugged) to me.
@Eef @Regpuppy Ah, okay. Based on everything I've read, I'm pretty sure both will be getting the English patch, though frankly language isn't much of a barrier with most of the Taiko games.
@Eef Sure, maybe. What exactly is the difference between those versions?
Since you said "My Taiko Drum Controller is on its way from Japan but the game itself has been pushed back to August 9," it did sound like yours was Japanese too.

@diablo2 Yeah, sure, that's me. I'll be sure to inform the XBO, PS4, and Switch living happily together on our entertainment system. My family and I just enjoy gaming as one of our many hobbies. You seem to prefer catastrophizing.
@diablo2 Then they should already be completely overwhelmed. Think of all of the current consoles available now not to mention retro systems, plus the app store, Android, Steam, etc., and all of the games available for each of those different platforms. There are already thousands upon thousands of options for gamers.
There's been tons of really great stuff, and then some not so great, but more options for everyone = generally better than the alternative, IMHO. Stronger organization of the eShop, better use of sub-genre groupings in the eShop, and the addition of optional home menu folders would be helpful.
@Atariboy That's too bad. I've had two issues about which I had to contact US Nintendo support in the past (once having to send in our Wii for repair, once a problem with two eShop cards), and both experiences were fantastic. Fast repair on the Wii for a reasonable price, even though it was well out of warranty. The eShop card issue they were able to address in an afternoon with just one phone call and a follow-up email with documentation.
P.S. For US Switch owners, the article above did mention "It's worth noting that this problem doesn't seem to be present in North America, where we're hearing reports that consoles with cracks are being replaced under warranty."
As I mentioned on a previous thread, there might be some kind of QC issue in a certain batch, but I also have to wonder if some people are just gripping the thing harder or with some unintentional torque. I just know my son and I have both played with our systems nearly daily since launch (his mostly docked and mine mostly handheld), and we haven't had any issues. We have traveled with them, and the kiddo (though generally quite careful with his electronics) has even dropped his a couple of times. Still no cracks or imperfections of any kind. We haven't done anything special to protect them, other than putting on screen protectors. And of course when we take them out and about, we use travel cases. I'm sorry some people are having problems with it and hope they can get them fixed for no charge, especially if still under warranty, if the cracks did occur due to a manufacturing issue and not rough handling.
Kind of similar to the DS hinge thing though. Some people swore up and down it was an issue, but I never had a single hinge break on any DS or 3DS system in my entire extensive collection. Neither did anyone else in my family. Guess we're just lucky (knock on wood!).

@Pazuzu666 I wish there were a light gun control option for arcade-style and on-the-rails shooters on the Switch. Somebody needs to figure out a way for make it work. Pretty please.
Wow, a crazy amount of awesome this week! I pre-ordered Captain Toad, Octopath Traveler, and Shining Resonance (all physical on Switch) ages ago, and I plan on grabbing Muddledash and Radio Hammer Station later today. (I loved the previous Radio Hammer on 3DS.) The Mooseman and The Lion's Song are going on my wishlist, and I might add Super Destronaut DX to it too. Waiting for reviews on Ghost 1.0 and Epic Loon.
@BlueOcean One definition of the word cancer is "a practice or phenomenon perceived to be evil or destructive and hard to contain or eradicate." Pretty sure that's the definition @Ralek85 was going for, given the context, and there's nothing wrong with that.

@Tempestryke Actually, they reworked some for the Wii U. But, yeah, if you're playing on the actual retro systems, you need a CRT for Zapper games.
