Has anyone been able to pre-order this from anywhere in North America? I can't tell if the initial batch is sold out, or they're just waiting to make it available until release date (which would be weird).
I went ahead and locked in a pre-order from amazon.de, since my son really wants this (okay, me too!), and I know how crazy things can go here in NA. No known import issues, right?
Absolutely love Catherine. I played the original many years ago on both 360 and PS3 and played Full Body on the PS4 already as well. For some reason, FB on Normal at times seemed more difficult than the original on Hard, though maybe I've just lost some skillz over the years, lol. I'm still grabbing the Switch version as I'd like to do some extra playthrus for more endings, and it'll be easier to make time for it with the option of playing in handheld mode.
@Blarglemeister This exactly! I loved some of those PS1 Atari remakes, including Pong, Asteroids, Frogger, etc. The Pong one was great, especially the multiplayer. I wish they'd bring those to the Switch (or any other contemporary console, for that matter).
I missed the chance to grab the Dreamer's Edition of Link's Awakening here at home but was able to preorder the superior UK version. It just arrived last Saturday and does not disappoint! That said, I'm already deep into DQXI after spending more than 10 hours on the demo, so both Zelda and Ni No Kuni (another recent arrival) will have to wait for a bit. Same for Untitled Goose Game, on the digital side, which looks like it'll be fun. I have some of the others on that list but they weren't recent purchases for me.
@SepticLemon I just remember Mr. Hot Dog, Mr. Pickle, and Mr. Egg as the three enemies in the original game. Anyway, though, I LOVED Burger Time! I downloaded BT Deluxe on the 3DS, and I still have the NES and GB carts stored somewhere. Got Super Burger Time on the Switch too, but it's just not the same.
@TheFox Not to mention the fact that there's a strong and well-documented historical, biological, and neurological connection between the two. That is not to say that we should accept such a connection in our real-world personal interactions, of course, but to flat-out deny that it's a part of the human experience (and the experience of most other species too) might do more harm that good. Video games, film, and other art can provide a healthy expression of (or outlet for) this connection that we may find socially taboo.
@TempOr I'm about an hour in, and I'm actually enjoying it pretty well so far. I haven't noticed any serious bugs. The load times are longer than I'd like, but that's pretty much only between major gameplay segments or when you screw something up (get caught, die, succumb to madness, etc.). I think they did a good job with the atmosphere and enemy design, which reminds me a bit of a cross between Amnesia and Dante's Inferno (and, especially in the alternative world, the Broodmother segments from Dragon Age). I'd say the gameplay is mostly P&C adventure with a few simple puzzles and some small bits of stealth and survival dropped into the mix. I happen to like P&C, so I'm good with it, but I'd guess that those who don't enjoy that genre may find the pace too plodding.
They've done a lot of great stuff over the years. 999 and Zero Escape, Danganronpa, Shiren, PMD, and more. I actually imported Zombie Daisuki for the DS at one point, and it was delightful. Fingers crossed...
@Sim1 Yeah, I love Gems of War. Super addictive, especially if you're a fan of match-3s in general (or Puzzle Quest in particular). It's F2P, so you should give it a go. I've sunk many hours into it and spent zero dollars so far, but then I'm more into the single-player quests/challenges and less into the online competitive aspect (though I have played a bit of PvP). It's been one of my go-to games for short pick-up-and-play sessions for months now.
Valkyria Chronicles 4, Piczle Colors, and Gems of War for me, and some FNAF Minecraft with the kiddo. Just tried the Hob demo this morning too, and I really enjoyed it.
Still addicted to Gems of War on the Switch. On the XBO, I'll be playing some bonus levels and collecting more gold bricks in Lego Star Wars TFA with the kiddo.
@Heavyarms55 @Euler Yeah, Gold & Silver were officially Game Boy Color releases. Just look at the original packaging. Sure, some GBC games were backward compatible, but they're clearly trying to limit this survey to games that were actually released for the GBO (not GBC games that included bc).
Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn for me, and I need to get back to Ape Out. The kiddo is out of school for the next two weeks, so we'll be playing something together too. Maybe a Skylanders re-play or Lego Movie 2. Hopefully not just more Minecraft!
I'm still playing Ape Out on the Switch and Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn on the 3DS. The kiddo will probably want to play Minecraft together, but maybe I can get him back to Odyssey or we can try out Pode or Overcooked for something new.
It actually looks like something the kiddo will enjoy. He's more of a Nintendo guy (secondarily an Xbox guy) in general but has had some fun with the PS VR, so this will probably be right up his alley.
@AlexSora89 It's a play on the phrase "where there's a will, there's a way," since the game's atmosphere is so crafty. PVA is a polymer used in papermaking, textiles, and some glues.
I just finished The Liar Princess & the Blind Prince today, and I LOVED it. I also maxed out the Yoshi's Crafted World demo and am really looking forward to the full game soon. Onto the Daemon X Machina demo, and I need to go back and finish Gabbuchi too.

@Oppyz666 Do you think using your cell phone's personal hotspot work?
Re: Where To Pre-Order Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit On Nintendo Switch
This is supposed to come out on Friday, right? Has anyone seen any pre-orders live in NA?
Re: Where To Pre-Order Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit On Nintendo Switch
Less than 2 weeks out and nowhere to pre-order in NA?!?
Re: Guide: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For October And November 2020
Gah, still no NA pre-orders for Mario Kart Live or Game & Watch.
:'-(
Re: 'Shadow Puppet' Platformer Projection: First Light Illuminates Switch Today
I love the art style but have heard mention of issues with the mechanics. Has anyone tried it out yet?

Re: WayForward Says It's Open To A Remake Of The Original Shantae Game
@Porky Not necessary. I'd say grab one in the series you can easily access and then take it from there.
Re: WayForward Says It's Open To A Remake Of The Original Shantae Game
@JimmySpades What a shame. I wouldn't let that stop you in terms of getting into the series. They really hold up on their own.
Re: WayForward Says It's Open To A Remake Of The Original Shantae Game
Yes, please! And also Wendy: Every Witch Way. Both games should be given the opportunity to have the audiences they deserved to begin with.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 13th)
I'm playing Lust for Darkness, Super Mario Maker 2, and Gems of War this weekend. And then, the least fun game, Catching-Up-On-Work.

Yes please! My son and I have been playing through TFA on the XBO and loving it!

@Aven Same! Gems of War is super addictive!
Re: Free-To-Play Puzzler Gems Of War Is Out Now On Switch
I'm loving it so far and haven't had the need to complete any microtransactions to progress.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 23rd)
Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn for me, and I need to get back to Ape Out. The kiddo is out of school for the next two weeks, so we'll be playing something together too. Maybe a Skylanders re-play or Lego Movie 2. Hopefully not just more Minecraft!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 16th)
@dugan Yeah, it's great! Super charming, controls work well, and there's some extra content (as compared to the original) too.
Re: Shovel Knight Developer Yacht Club Games Is Publishing A New Title
Love for all things YCG.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 16th)

Re: Review: Ape Out - A Short But Oh-So-Sweet Action Title That Every Switch Owner Should Play
@HAL9000 Yeah, from what I've played so far, it's more like an experiment in jazz improvisation and abstract art, but it's incredibly compelling.
Re: First 4 Figures Teases Long-Awaited Mario And Yoshi Statue
Holy effing crap. I just looked at the Bowser one. Almost 1 & 1/2 feet tall, 2 & 1/2 feet deep, and $699.99. That's kind of insane.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 23rd)
I'm back to Gabbuchi this weekend.
Re: Yacht Club Games Has Delayed Shovel Knight: King Of Cards
As others have said, I'd rather they take their time to make it right than rush to meet a deadline. YCG deserves a lot of respect.
Re: See If Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn Is For You With The Free eShop Demo

@dazzleshell Yeah, same here, and I'm 40!
Re: Here's A Look At The Fire Emblem: Three Houses Limited Edition
@Ogbert Sure, no prob. I think that will be more useful than a split year calendar, at least for me personally.
Re: Here's A Look At The Fire Emblem: Three Houses Limited Edition
@TossedLlama That's weird since it's still available on the GS website. The website does list it as "online only" though.
Re: Here's A Look At The Fire Emblem: Three Houses Limited Edition
@Ogbert According to the photo, it's a 2020 calendar.
