@DockEllisD To be fair, the video you shared shows the first 30 minutes of the game, but the gameplay doesn't really get started until about 25 minutes in.

@Rockmirth I believe the "sad ending" in the title is a reference to this reviewer's overall disappointment with the game, not a spoiler of in-game events.

@kermit1986 Yeah, I'm a couple of hours in, and I'm really enjoying it so far. The art style does not disappoint, and unlike this reviewer, I haven't had any problems with the controls. I'd say it's a puzzle-platformer in the way the something like Ico fits into the genre (meaning, not really a traditional puzzle-platformer).

@BenAV Same here. I think I'll enjoy this. Also, not that the #s necessarily matter, but the scores from the other reviews I've read are significantly higher. Even based on the text of this review, it sounds more like a 7 to me.

@Mrtoad Mario Pinball Land and Kirby's Pinball Land are actually two of my favorite pinball games. I wish there were Switch ports of them.

Pikuniku was a blast, but I'm also enjoying Gabbuchi, which was released on January 31st. IMHO, it deserves an honorable mention as well.

I finished Pikuniku and am now playing Gabbuchi, which is really fun so far. It's kind of like Boxboy in reverse.

@NintoRich I actually use my NES Zapper bottle opener (from the Bartendo line) on a relatively regular basis. Love that one.

Got Pikuniku and My Memory of Us with discounts, and I also picked up Bad Dream: Coma (free with the 50%-off plus some Gold Points). Sphinx is coming in physical form. Several others are going on my maybe/wishlist. I also grabbed Puzzle Wall with 50%-off plus some Gold Points, and I'm hoping it might be fun with the kiddo.

@UmbreonsPapa @IronMan30 Yeah, I thought of Freaky Forms too, and Pikuniku also reminds me of Loco Roco and Docomodake in some ways. I actually went ahead and pre-ordered this one with the 10% discount as I was pretty confident it would be right up my alley, so I'm glad to see it got such a positive review.

@Reverandjames If you like music games, I’d recommend Deemo (but not Rudymical). If you like RPGs, Ambition of the Slimes is cute and fun. I’ve heard good things about the Mercenaries games (strategy) but haven’t tried them yet myseif. I grabbed the first Opus and the Fairune collection at that low price point and look forward to trying them out soon.

@joey302 Good point. It's just that between all of our systems, it feels like we've bought a lot of Atari compilations over the years, plus I still have my old 2600 with the original carts of my favorites. I'm still going to grab the physical release of this one, but I'd love to see a compilation of those rebooted versions someday.

@Alantor28 Pretty sure people asking for E.T. are joking. I played that game back in the day, and it is every bit as terrible as reputed.

I appreciate the classics and will probably get this, but I also feel like we've seen these same Atari compilations over and over and over again. It's a little stale by now and only some of those games stand the test of time.

Does anyone remember the late 90s reboots of several of these titles? They were mostly on the PS1, IIRC, but there was Pong: The Next Level and enhanced versions of Asteroids, Space Invaders, Q*Bert, Frogger, Centipede, etc. I would love a compilation of those.

@KingBowser86 Curse of the Moon is awesome. I had zero problems with the controls.

And I like a lot of WayForward's work, so I'm not worried about their involvement. Having another experienced side-scroller team help with bug fixes should just strengthen the game.

@klingki Yeah, the Switch version just came out last week, but it first came out on Steam a couple of years ago, IIRC (chapter by chapter release). Lots of other reviews of this game out there, the majority of which are quite positive.

@klingki This review seems to be an outlier.

I'm pretty sure Bendy was originally released long before Cuphead, and though both have a retro cartoon aesthetic, they are really quite distinct.

Haven't played the Switch version yet, but both my son and I loved Bendy on PC. This score seems lower than the game deserves, IMHO.

Looking forward to receiving mine soon. This should be great for some arcade games, shooters like Ikaruga, etc.

@HobbitGamer If you enjoy Advance Wars and the VC4 demo and haven't played Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars on the 3DS, I'd highly recommend it. Code Name S.T.E.A.M. is great too. For the Switch, I've heard very good things about Tiny Metal, but I haven't played it yet myself.

I think Wargroove is supposed to be coming to the Switch as well.

Recently finished Captain Toad and Spellspire. So far this weekend, I've been playing the Valkyria Chronicles 4 demo. I finished the Prologue and first two chapters and loved it, but then I'm a fan of the series. When I completed Chapter 2, it unlocked a couple of bonus maps, so I still need to go back and wrap those up. It's a really meaty demo.

Other than that, I've been playing WarioWare Gold, and I'll probably play more Minecraft with the kiddo too.
