OCTO. PATH. TRAV. ELER.
I'm crazy excited for not one, but two games this week: Octopath (duh!) and Captain Toad (on 3DS.)
Something just feels right with the latter on 3DS rather than Switch.
I actually picked up Human Resource Machine and This Is The Police last night. Loving HRM!!!
Just Captain Toad for me. And I hope to get a jumpstart on the Fortnite season tonight.
Ghost 1.0 looks solid. It's made by the guy who made Unepic in case anyone is wondering. Steam reviews are very positive overall.
Too many games too little time makes River a down guy.
Wait a minute, a bunch of these games were also featured in last week’s download update. I guess if your game releases in-between Thursdays you get featured twice? Why even launch on a Thursday then? 🤔
Edit: And now the poll and the games in question have disappeared from the article. Stay winning, NL.
I will admit I am tempted to get Captain Toad on 3DS.
Wow, a crazy amount of awesome this week! I pre-ordered Captain Toad, Octopath Traveler, and Shining Resonance (all physical on Switch) ages ago, and I plan on grabbing Muddledash and Radio Hammer Station later today. (I loved the previous Radio Hammer on 3DS.) The Mooseman and The Lion's Song are going on my wishlist, and I might add Super Destronaut DX to it too. Waiting for reviews on Ghost 1.0 and Epic Loon.
Btw, anyone tried Mushroom Wars 2 yet?
No new sale? Still desperate for Wild Guns Reloaded to be at a reasonable price.
I hate to double dip, but I honestly want to get Captain Toad.
Still counting the days until the Mega Man X collections! Just under twelve to go. I was hyped for the classic collections, but I'm faaaaar more hyped for X!
I just wanted to leave a quote here, that I find might be relevant for this week:
"If Octopath Traveler does well and this is something that appeals to fans, we want to focus on Switch. Please pick up the Switch if you want to play games like Octopath Traveler," Square Enix division executive Tomoya Asano said.
Well it's Octopath Traveler and Captain Toad (Switch) for me this week, both physical of course. That will be all until next month.
I don't think I've really dived all the way in to a JRPG since Bravely Default. It might be about time to give Octopath Traveller a spin
Nothing for me. I'll nab Octopath on sale at some point, I'm sure.
I'm picking up the wayfarer's edition of Octopath Traveler, but can't start until I finish Ys Viii! Looks like my gaming time is occupied for now. D:
I'm also tempted to give Captain Toad a proper try and gonna check out what folks have to say about Super Volley Blast.
I kind of hope the Adventure Time game is good but I doubt it.
Nothing else right now unless there is a great sale this week on something.
The really hot eShop news this week: RXN Raijin is on sale on the JP eShop for about 10$.
Where’s Bomb Chicken? I swear that’s supposed to release today.
Treasure tracker for sure !
Captain Toad and Octopath! Heck yeah, great eShop update.
And has anyone tried 20XX or Holy Potatoes? I don’t dig the art style in 20XX, but I’ve seen some positive impressions online. And Holy Potatoes just seems charming, haha.
@Pazuzu666 That game’s price is ridiculous. I’m waiting for like 50% off.
Nothing for me this week. Just snagged Yooka Laylee at the sale price this morning, so that'll keep me busy.
Espress Raider I pre ordered and picked up Super Destronaut yesterday!! My Switch is building up a nice sized retro library!!! 😆
Octopath Traveler for me
@imgrowinglegs likewise.
Hand of Fate ...
The Legend of Kyrandia
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QU6MtBSvL8
Nothing for me. I have trip coming up in over 2 weeks to my sister’s bridal shower, so saving all my free money for that.
@Ignatius Oh yeah, good call. I've been anticipating Bomb Chicken.
@Pazuzu666 I wish there were a light gun control option for arcade-style and on-the-rails shooters on the Switch. Somebody needs to figure out a way for make it work. Pretty please.
Where is Bomb Chicken?
Fortnite with gyro controls sounds tempting. I want Octopath, but the funds just aren't there right now. Can't wait to get it eventually.
HANDOFFATE2HANDOFFATE2HANDOFFATE2HANDOFJFJRJEJEK2.
I may be excited for one of these titles.
Might get Octopath Traveler. Still need to check out more reviews and play more of the demo.
@LegendOfPokemon
Why not check out the demo? And get your own opinion
Where's this weeks European list?
...Wait, no poll?
I won't be grabbing Captain Toad, but I will (hopefully) start playing my neglected Wii U copy this weekend. As for Octopath Traveler, it'll be a day 1 buy when I finally get around to grabbing a Switch.
already downloaded another world, pocket rumble and samurai shodown v this week.
Have the physical copy of Capt Toad coming. It looked fun before and I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy it.
Star Story: The Horizon Escape looks like it could be fun. Has pretty good reviews on Steam and this is 1/2 the cost (at the moment).
Need to know a bit more about Octopath Traveler before I bite on that one. I think I played the demo ages ago and found a quick death so want to see if this is for me or not. The concept sounds interesting.
@sTriLo On Nintendo's site. It's useless expecting this team to post anything until they get their press release. https://www.nintendo.co.uk/News/2018/July/Weekly-download-news-1402143.html
What the heck happened to Sanrio Characters Picross????
@EmirParkreiner : That is hot news! I wanted RXN Raijin at release, but could not pony up the $38 bucks. Have to make another visit to the JPN eShop now....THANKS!
@riChchestM Thanks for the link. I had no idea Nintendo provided such information on their site. I'll be sure to check there first the next time I'm impatient.
@sketchturner @kirbygirl @Ignatius Bomb Chicken is definitely on the eShop! I'm on its product page right now where it has a link to purchase (which I'm about to buy).
@Dom I've noticed more than once that games have released, but were never posted here. And if I may be critical here, I've never noticed that prior to this year...
@EmirParkreiner Thank you for that! Looks like the game has English support, so definitely jumping on this.
All about that Octopath.
@Pazuzu666
Wild Guns Reloaded cost 1800 Yen, so about 16$ on the japanese eShop. So if have a japanese account and think that's cheap enough (in my opinion it's still a bit much for a SNES remaster), you should get it from there.
If you're interested in the game at this price but don't have a JP account, you should really make one. They also have the nice shmup Sisters Royale from Alpha System (Castle of Shikigami), and RXN -Raijin- is on sale for less then 10$ until August (costs over 40$ on the US shop).
Have captain toad preloaded, and will prob give fortnite another try with the gyro controls. Octopath I'm going to pass for now, but may get it later.
The new Adventure Time game honestly looks quite good. It's very Wind Waker inspired, and I highly encourage people to look up some gameplay footage; it may just be a hidden gem. I'll be keeping an eye on the reviews.
All about that Toad for me. Will pick up Octopath this fall when I get back into my international travels with long flight times. It's just too nice outside for me to start a 100+ hour game
This new guy still keeps forgetting to add the poll
@Pazuzu666 You should just break down and pick it up physical before it's gone.
@MedusaMadman77 I'm only purchasing games physically which are large in file size. Saving room on my SD Card as much as possible. Wild Guns comes in at under 1gb so that falls under digital for me.
