I don't see them as the same thing. Sure both would be shooters but that is where the similarities would stop, in my imagining anyway.

A different idea to go with the different game announcement. I would like to see a COD/Team Fortress type game using Mario characters so no bullets or explosions but maybe using water guns, balloons, and grenades instead and if you're soaked you have to go towel off and respawn. Something kid friendly yet fun and tactical.

Darn you Nintendo. I'm happy our PAL friends are getting a physical release but I want one in the US as well. Just like Fatal Frame V I wanted the game but I'm not getting them on digital since they're a retail release elsewhere, plus they'll never go on sale. Why Nintendo, why???

Sony's presentation was very good but I haven't seen anything that makes me want to buy a new console. I was hoping for a game changer and didn't get one.

@Dark-Link73 absolutely, I bought Book of Unwritten Tale II today and I'll grab pretty much anything interesting that shows up via retail from here on out.

As for Nordic's game I'll take whatever it is. Darksiders would be great since I've never played it. I don't own a Microsoft or Sony console anymore.

If it comes out in retail out on Wii U as intended I will buy a copy the first week to support their efforts. I'm looking forward to this game more then any in a long time.

I'm a Nintendo gamer who grew up on the NES and SNES. I branched out to the PS1 and then the Xbox but I've since sold everything that isn't a Nintendo console except my Sega CDX. Other then the PSP I no longer own anything PS or Xbox. I don't have a lot of gaming time and enjoy Nintendo consoles and handhelds so that's what I have.

Runbow no longer exists on Amazon. I guess we'll have to wait for E3.

That Steamworld Heist sale is looking mighty good to me.

To me the game was a glitchy mess. I had the 2.0 toy box and nothing seemed to work like it should. We don't play it and it's just sitting in its box.

My internet goes out often, though usually not while I'm actually using it. Still I agree with this response and welcome it.

I have flash carts for my old consoles because I like having everything in one place. I would like to embrace digital but for a myriad of reasons I only download when it's something I can't get retail. All of the issues have been mentioned already but Network account tied to a system, ridiculously priced downloads compared to retail, horrible system constraints, and downloads that take forever to accomplish are the primary reasons.

For example, I have DK Tropical Freeze I got for free as a Club Nintendo prize and it took over an hour to download and install. It's nuts. Plus it left me virtually no room for anything else. When the selects came out I bought the original retail used at a much reduced price and deleted the one from my Wii U. It's just not worth it right now.

I enjoyed Club Nintendo and the physical rewards. I won't be getting much for gold coins and I guess I'll see about platinum. I'm very disappointed at the moment though.

I'll be grabbing Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Mario All-Stars, and NES Remix. I'll possibly grab some of the 3DS stuff as well. If only Lego City Undercover was part of this deal.

Pokemon Sun and Moon it is. Rather anti-climactic after yesterday but still a cool direct and well made.

None of their crap is touching my consoles and if they want to bundle a game with a system I won't be buying it.

I was only able to get on for about an hour mid-afternoon and blue was getting crushed, though my daughter won in a match 80+% to 1+%. I'm very surprised to see blue ended up winning the thing.

I could have easily went Oracle of Ages or Oracle of Seasons but I didn't want to put one in and leave the other out. The 2D games are my favorites though almost all of the Zelda games are fantastic.

Not a great week on the Wii U side. If you're not going physical the FE discount is a nice deal. I'll be grabbing the FE Before Awakening DLC bundle since I have the LE I'll be getting today and I want it all.

I've got the LE ordered for Friday but I'll probably start with birthright.

I have a thought on the smaller roster. No doubt we'd all like to see more Pokemon but let's go back and look at another fighter that made its debut on the N64. Smash started with a small roster and now features a huge one including non-Nintendo characters. I have no doubt that if Pokken Tournament does well that we'll see future installments with ever increasing rosters. I'll be getting my copy on day one.

I've got this and the controller pre-ordered for day 1. If I like this I may pick up Tekken Tag Tournament 2 as well.

Kuru Kuru Kururin is calling my name. Now we need the GBA sequel and the GameCube game as well.

I have it on GameCube and Wii already but I've got the Amiibo version pre-ordered and I'll be picking it up at launch. These next two months will be expensive with FE Fates, Twilight Princess, and Pokken Tournament coming out.

They should be willing to give you four since you can technically get one for each of the four games.

I got mine and an extra. I can probably grab a couple more if people in NA need them and can't get them.

I picked up S.T.E.A.M. for just over $17 with tax as well. They have Chibi-Robo, Fossil Fighters, and a few others on clearance as well plus a B1G1 50% off on Pokemon, Yokai Watch, Majora's, and one other game that's escaping me at the moment. Not good on Chibi-Robo if we're wanting them to make a proper sequel.

I was spoiled as a kid as I had both a Game Boy and a Game Gear, though not a lot of games for my GG. I mostly remember playing Sonic and Baseball. I got rid of both at some point in the past and picked up a boxed Game Gear again, GBA SP does everything the GB did only better.

I just in the past couple of weeks picked up a Game Gear Everdrive and now I would like to find someone to do a capacitor and screen replacement and I'm all set. I'm looking forward to seeing what this beast can do.

I'd rather it were Stranger's Wrath or Munch's Odyssey but I'll buy this anyway.

I echo pretty much everyone's comments in that I want Stranger's Wrath and the cancellation of that and delay of this stinks. I own two Xbox games still at this point and they are both of the OddWorld games. I would gladly get rid of both if I had a way to play them.
That said I'll probably grab this just to support them even though it's my least likes of the OddWorld games.

This will be a week 1 purchase for me. My kids will love playing this and with more and more additions being added it just gets better everytime.

Shaping up to be a day 1 purchase for me. I'm rather giddy at the idea of Rare reforming.

Good point on Xenoblade, I missed that. I'll have to add you as a friend (mine is jmbarnes101 if you wanted to add me) so I can watch those. The Wii U is such an underrated killer system that it's just sad how poorly it's done compared to the other two systems. It's definitely the Dreamcast of our generation. Thankfully it won't be Nintendos last console.

Nice logical and in depth post and while I don't own all of them, 8 of 10 and a few of the others, I agree with most of it. I wouldn't say DK is the best platformer ever but it is fun, challenging, rewarding, and beautiful. I would add Shovel Knight, the upcoming Amiibo functionality makes this version unplayable elsewhere, Lego City Undercover, and Xenoblade Chronicles X to your list though. I'm sure the upcoming Twilight Princess will need a home as well.

I want that Pokemon game. Unfortunately it never got released in the US.

I'm getting it to support Chibi-Robo and for the awesome Amiibo. With it and Olimar I've got both of the ones I really wanted. On the other hand I'm disappointed that this is a platformer. The original NGC one is one of my favorite games for the system and Park Patrol was just an ok follow up. Don't get me started on Photo Finder, abysmal gaming at best and horribly broken at worst. As stated earlier the true DS sequel never left Japan and the Wii New Play Control remake never left Japan either. If they had this series may be held in higher regard than it is now.

I'll be grabbing this for my kids and I together. They like Animal Crossing and are currently having fun with Happy Home Designer. Plus I want a few of those Amiibos.

I'm looking at Citizens of Earth. Can anyone recommend one version over the other? I've got a 3DS and a Wii U so whichever is the better version I'll get. Thoughts??!

Mine doesn't show that it's shipped and I haven't received it. I wonder if it's being shipped by order date? I didn't order mine until a couple days before the deadline to register both games to get it.

So would the Wii U version of this be the best one to get since it'll come with the Wii game as well or is it too early to call that yet?

I'm bummed we don't get more Nintendo Throwback weeks since I wanted a sale on Crashmo and the two Dillon games.

I'm also bummed we aren't getting any additional Wii downloads as Xenoblade Chronicles and Kirby's Return to Dreamland would be automatic buys. Though I'd also need an external hard drive at that point. I'm practically in need of one now.

For this week however I'll be grabbing Pokemon Shuffle (w/o transactions), Citizens of Earth 3DS demo, and Ice Cream Surfer since I can't turn down a cheap SHMUP. I'm also going to be picking up Kirby and the Rainbow Curse at retail but I'll get it on sale or used since I don't pay full retail price for anything.

Whatever happened to the Nintendo throwback sales? It's like they released games on Club Nintendo and then gave up on the eShop. I'm very disappointed.

Just goes to show that most of the people hosting these awards are either clueless or think they are smarter then everyone else and want everyone to be awed by their "intelligent" choices. While it's nice to see Mario Kart and SSB scoop up a few rewards it's the ones they completely miss on that make everything else they pick feel like feint praise.

Picked up both games when GC2 launched. I had a lot of fun with the first one and beat it though I haven't touched the second one yet. The only thing I didn't like were the jumpy mushrooms.

I was hoping Gunman Clive would see a small sale, yes I know it's only $2, when the sequel arrived but I'll just grab them both anyway along with Metroid Prime Trilogy and maybe something else depending on what's in the Throwback sale; both Dillon's please? Or Crashmo?

I was more referring to the XboxOne but I'm tired of people referring to things about the Gamecube as bad when that system was loaded with quality games.

As for unique, you're correct and I should have used quality instead of unique, Happens when I'm typing in a hurry. I don't care what system someone plays on if they enjoy it. I know what I like to play and I know where I can find it.
