Thanks for this. Metroid is my favorite NES soundtrack. Highly recommend a listen to all its tracks. Very well composed, melodic yet unsettling.

Great to hear, as, being a retro guy, I own quite a few of these titles.

Wish they included the OG versions, like the C64. New visuals look meh. Sounds like the music will be really good though.

I love it. It’s amazing. I think some thoughtful dedicated updates, based on player feedback, will make it even better. Just like MK8 was for Switch 1, will likely be my favorite game for the new Switch.

Bought the welcome tour. Explored it for about 10 minutes, then deleted it and went back to Mario Kart World. It was not for me.

Loved the first one, though it wasn’t perfect. This is a day one purchase fir me, the Scott Pilgrim world is very appealing.

I predict continued stick drift on Switch 2 controllers. Nintendo has never demonstrated they actually cared about it that I can recall.

Looks great. Love the art style. Someone above commented on burning out on these kind of games, which I totally get, but they are very hard to resist for an old 80s 90s gamer like myself.

Looks so fun. Like others have stated, so hard to save for a Switch 2 when sweet new games keep being released for the OG Switch.

Will be super happy with any new 2d Castlevania, as long as it doesn’t suck, lol.

I really enjoy the game, its design and art style, but it’s hard for this old man! Reminds me of arcade gaming in the late 80s: you had better get good fast or your quarters would evaporate.

Nice collection of games from my youth. Have the other two collections, which I enjoy busting out every once in a while. Hope companies keep these retros collections coming with the Switch 2 as well!

Not sure if the layoffs were caused by the adoption of AI tech in some way, but it’s my understanding that AI is going to gut the video game industry. Most developers will no longer pay for artists and other creative types, they’ll just type in a few keywords and create some soulless characters and game worlds.

This is great for access to original black box games for the NES. I enjoyed several of these as a kid, especially Cobra Triangle and Mach Rider.

It would seem appropriate if this was paid for DLC, and I’d be happy to pay for it. Also be more than happy to pay for an Activision history DLC.

I’ve really been enjoying this, the pricing is super reasonable, and hope we get more of these “making of” presentations in the future. It’s a niche offering for sure, but If Digital Eclipse produces more of these on the classics of gaming, I’ll be buying.

I have an archive e-subscription to Retro Gamer and highly recommend the magazine to old-school fans. Great in-depth articles, high quality lay-outs, and they do an overall great job of helping to keep the classics alive!
