I had some bookshelves I got from Target and one was able to hold my entire collection of Switch, ps4/ps3, 3ds/ds, wii/wii u, etc as well as Blu ray and dvds. It looked quite nice and made it easy to sort through but I've recently had to move back in with the folks so it's all in boxes now and the bookshelves broken down. At the very least I've got some disc based media being ps4 and blurays in a large disc folio and all my switch games are mainly in two plastic cart holders by unikeep that can hold 60 games each. I can access the games but I can't appreciate the boxes atm.
Was trying to get a pre order for these from BB or GS for the longest but they didn't come back in stock all the times I tried. Was finally able to get one in at Target last month whenever they finally became available there. Should get mine next week
Doubtful but hoping this a Monster Hunter Stories 2 issue where it's a misprint saying a download is required but we shall see. For me its not a deal breaker considering I never bought Origins the first time around. But I'm gonna be optimistic since it comes out on my and Sonic's birthday.
In total I would have had 5 but currently have 2. My first 3DS was the og Ocarina of time anniversary edition which I lent to my ex and it is never to be heard from again unfortunately. My Second was the red Pokemon X/Y XL model which I eventually sold on ebay and put the funds toward the link between worlds XL. I then bought the animal crossing New 3DS as at the time it was the first and to me presumably the only standard New 3DS that would release in the US. I didn't want happy home designer but because of faceplates it didn't really matter the design since it could be changed. Eventually I sold my Link between worlds XL on ebay as well and then in 2020 I bought a lightly used blue Monster Hunter Generations New 3DS XL on mercari becasue I wanted a bigger screen again and I could tell that the prices were soon to skyrocket if I waited any longer.
@GX_64 A bit late here since you've already ordered it, but DarkHorse also released the first two books fully translated in English and I imagine they'll do the same for this one at some point if you were interested in a translated version later down the line
So glad Fantasy Life is getting a proper Sequel. It was easily my favorite 3DS game and I'm super glad its getting represented. Plus Level 5 seems to be making a comeback which is great, hopefully we can get some Layton remasters on Switch. Also GB/GBA finally being added is great, hoping these and all the NSO games can go forward to the next console without having a full reset like Nintendo loves to do each gen.
I just renewed a couple of days ago myself and I immediately turned off the auto renew. Glad its going to be off by default now, I always turn it off when applicable cause I keep track of my subscriptions. And when it ends and I no longer have service I can decide then whether it's worth resubbing.
@switchscreenshots I suppose that's one way to view it. To me it's not that the Collector's Edition comes with a board game but rather the Collector's Edition IS a board game that just so happens to include the physical copy of the game. I'm sure many ppl will like this but for me personally I just wanted an art book, maybe a poster and or a figure, like the standard things. I can't see myself playing the board game with my friends that don't even know or care about what Eastward is.
@Don Discotek does this for a few releases as it reduces the number of discs like mentioned above but also 480p on bluray generally still looks nicer than 480p on DVD. I have their Sonic X, 2 Disc Blu ray release which is also 480p and it still looks very crisp
Honestly I didn't really have any character I wanted after we got Pyra/Mythra. I was content with pretty much anyone but while watching the presentation I shed a tear for Sora, not sure if it was happiness or sadness that the roster is done but either way I'm glad for all those who wanted Sora and maybe even deep down I'm happy he made it as well.
Wondering if this will affect third party docks at all. I just recently bought a portable dock and it works fine and hasn't bricked my Switch. Seems like the days of Switches being bricked by docks is over so hopefully this update won't change that.
Super looking forward to Garden Story and Eastward. Both of those games had demos that were apart of the first Summer Games fest on steam and I still have the demos installed to replay them since steam delisted the demos after the event. But now Garden story is out today and Eastward is only a little ways off, this was such a great Indie World!
Wait was it always called Cyberfunk? I swear I thought it was Bombrush Cyberpunk but funk makes so much more sense in retrospect. Either way I'm looking forward to it, that trailer looked great!
Been waiting a little bit for this one. I played the demo on steam a while back for the very first summer games fest and enjoyed it immensely, looking forward to playing in handheld!
I remember seeing the Kass video a while back but it's interesting to see that this can happen with other npc's that also can show up in multiple locations. I commend the effort!
I think a No More Heroes animated movie would do really well especially with its humor and weirdness. I feel like a tv series though would be kind of pushing it, I'd rather a nice 2 hour long action packed romp instead of trying to tell a grand story over many episodes, I can just play the games if I want a longer experience.
Good thing I planned to get this on PS4 then. 30fps usually isn't much of an issue for me but for Sonic and racing games (and even Sonic racing games!) I much prefer the smoothness of 60fps. Might even get it on PC depending on how good my gpu can make the game look.
@VoidofLight I wish carts were able to written to after the fact however I realize that would cause issues with hacking and piracy. But I feel like if cartridges had a little bit of extra space reserved on them for updates to save directly to the cart that could solve the whole issue of not having the "full" game years from now when servers eventually go down but that's just some wishful thinking.
I know many people have been complaining about the Limited Run games Collector's edition releases of NMH 1&2 being overpriced but honestly I don't think so. I got mine in the mail recently and they come with a lot of extras compared to this one. Artbook/interviews, steelbook and a regular game case, cd soundtrack, and reversible poster in each and both boxes combine to make a larger artwork either from the front or with the spine facing outwards. Each at $70 usd which is only $10 more than a typical new game I felt was actually good value. Not sure how much this Collector's Edition of NMH3 will end up costing but I still stand by the LRG releases. That said I'll try to snag this one for consistency sake since it doesn't seem the US will be getting a dedicated Collector's edition for NMH3
@Williamfuchs420 I'm aware PC versions are often larger, just simply trying to explain where the earlier poster could have come up with their 28GB number. The PC version and Switch may not have parity with each other in terms of space required so it's just an idea or two to make sense of this situation
@Williamfuchs420 I'm not saying I agree with it lol but rather that's what this article is about right? I can't imagine that the physical version would somehow require more space than the digital but if this whole printing situation is true then it would explain where the number comes from. I should also note that the steam page for Stories 2 says it requires 28GB of storage which could potentially explain this misprint as well. Or maybe it isn't a misprint and we'll all have egg on our face and Capcom decided to use a 1GB cart and is just covering their bases by listing 15GB needed. The full images floating around the net do look pretty legit and the game is out in only 5 days so we'll find out the truth soon
@Specters The assumption is that if the eshop listing is correct at 13.5 GB then the cartridge version would also be 13.5 GB and then if this print on the box is also correct then that would be an addition 15 GB. So 13.5 + 15 = 28.5 GB. However I like many other's think this likely a misprint
Uggh, I hate when they give Sonic side mouth. Forces was really hard for me to look at because of that. I know lately his and other characters default as having side mouth but its just so jarring to look at in motion. Say what you want about the janky movements of Dreamcast Sonic, but I'll always prefer those mouths over these
I had recently been looking into buying the 10th anniversary one from Ebay since I didn't know it existed until earlier this year. I'm hoping this new one doesn't inadvertently raise the price of the old one.
4k sounds nice and all and would funnily enough be my first 4k console (aside from PC) but I would much rather just have nicer visuals and frame rates on existing titles. Just an overall cleanup of the more demanding titles like Monster Hunter Rise or the Xenoblades. Really just anything that natively renders at 900p or below I'd like to be bumped to 1080p and things that run at 30fps bumped to 60fps within reason.
2004 - Paper Mario TTYD
2012 - Xenoblade Chronicles (US release)
2017 - Hollow Knight (PC version)
2014 - Fantasy Life (US release)
2016 - Owlboy (PC release)
Took some thinking on this one but here's my list. TTYD will likely always be my favorite game and Xenoblade likely always 2nd, but Hollow Knight came close to taking that. This was difficult to choose but I feel like it was a good exercise to think about what games I like and the reasons I like them which seem to be mainly due to the gameplay and story elements as well as the writing and world building in general.
@Neopolitan This is (or was) available in the US MyNintendo store. I got it about a week or so ago. Although it's not nearly as vibrant as the images make it seem. It's much more faded out in person.
@Chamver It's an open pre order for all editions including the bundle from March 12th until April 11th. You've got nothing to worry about as long as you get em within that time.
I stopped going into Nintendo Directs with a ton of expectations a some time ago. I've found that going in with little to no expectations often yields a better experience. You won't get disappointed as much and if something nice happens, it becomes a pleasant surprise. For instance even if many folks wanted someone else, I'm super excited to have Pyra and Mythra in Smash and I had stopped hoping for a XC2 rep a long time ago.
Nice to have but I wish they would release these in late December. Same thing happened with the 2020 Calendar so you end up missing all of the January birthdays and some of the Feb. There were a few of my villagers last month I almost missed where this would've come in handy
The official MH website seems to also imply that offline mode is still playable as long as you haven't already hit the 30 quest limit but downloading the demo and online won't be on the Feb 1st.
@Snatcher @Rob3008 @Jooles_95 According to the opening message of the demo it says "Online Play will be disabled after the trial period for this demo, at which point you will have to use Local Play". This could be referring to the 30 quest play limit or to the Feb 1st date where as long as it's downloaded you can keep playing offline only after that date. I choose to believe the latter. However even the Eshop page is pretty vague so I'm still not 100% certain.
For those of you who only saw this at beginning of the campaign, they actually changed the output from 720 @ 60hz and 1080 @ 30hz to 1080 @ 60hz. Turns out it was a software limitation rather than hardware, just sucks for many ppl who didn't see the change and decided not to back. @romanista The only difference I can really see is that the one you linked can only do 30hz but also the Genki has it's own optional software that likely helps with reducing latency and it can be used as a webcam feed so you can integrate a game feed into zoom for instance. Also when backing there was an option to get a usb C to usb A adapter if you don't have a newer laptop.
I played the demo for this a while ago on steam for one of the game festivals. It was quite fun but boy was it difficult. There's a rhythm to it and if you fall out it for too long you get ganged up on and can get taken out quickly.
@Torakaka Considering the deal to sell Crunchyroll (which includes VRV) to Funimation just went through, and since this app is happening, it isn't out of the realm of possibility to see VRV come to Switch. However with this huge deal I suspect a price increase will be coming to VRV.
@FiveDigitLP I had it on my Bestbuy wishlist and just happened to see it was in stock at my store. A lot of times the higher traffic stores will get 1 or 2 extras outside of pre orders. Same way I was able to get the limited edition of Sakuna of rice and ruin.
@Grot I bought the last and only non pre order one from my Best Buy on a whim. But I'm in the same boat of maybe putting it on ebay later on. Like I did want it but more so to go with my other FE collector's edition so who knows in a few months down the line if I'll still have it or not.
Already own this on PC from when it first released as well as the physical PS4 version from Iam8bit but I will gladly buy this a third time for a physical Switch Version. One of my all time favorite games.
I know many people didn't care for Battle Revolution but I loved that game so much. I had so many different teams I made on my old copy of Pearl and it was fun seeing them on the big screen. I also enjoyed the challenge, especially after beating the game once and a many more opened up afterwards.
Also waiting for a Physical announcement but I'm really tempted to get the digital now. Been wanting to play these games for years and never had the chance to try them out on the wii
@PALgamer Quite unfortunate. I figured that if one region had blank artwork then they all would. But I suppose games often have different publishes depending on region so they can do what they want. But hey maybe the reverse is also true and some of the blank art games I own might have art outside the US
