Re: 2K Hopes To Slam Dunk The Bugs In NBA 2K18 on Nintendo Switch

Hope they fix those bugs fast. With the micro SD card requirement, large save files, and lots of bugs, a lot of people already disliked the game. It seemed like a very good opportunity for 2K to release this game for the Switch but now it is being swarmed by a lot of problems. 2K needs to recover the user base ASAP.

Re: Review: Pokkén Tournament DX (Switch)

Though I like Pokemon, I'm not much of a fan of Pokken. I'd still buy it though since I have friends and siblings who want to play it. I hope we get additional characters in the future. Some character choices are a bit weird for me too. I'm looking at you Croagunk! Toxicroak would have been better in my opinion.

Re: Nintendo Download: 14th September (North America)

Will be my first time trying out a Metroid game. Hope I enjoy like most people do. I'll be buying the physical copy (all my 3DS games are) but since I'm still here in Japan I have no choice but to wait until I get home during the Holidays. Samus please wait for me.

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Direct Summary - 13th September

janfritz

I really didn't have any expectations, and wasn't demanding to see anything. Watched the direct, and was satisfied with what I saw. To people complaining about ports: Games aren't made that fast. If all you want is new games, then expect to have long periods of time without any content being released on the Switch. But then you'll complain that the Switch is dead. To people complaining about the lack of new 1st party game announcements: it's highly likely that one more direct will be coming before 2017 ends. With SMO and XC2 released by that time, what do you think Nintendo will announce? Of course their other games coming in 2018. So be patient and wait until then. Hope you all enjoy the upcoming games this year.

Re: Zelda: Breath of the Wild's 'Champions' amiibo Get a Release Date

janfritz

Already had mine preordered here in Japan months ago. I don't really mind the content they unlock, though of course it would be nice if they give more than just costumes. I was hoping for a chance to play as the Champions when the DLC was first announced. Right now I'm buying them for collection purposes.

Re: Here, Have A Generous Helping Of Pokémon Ultra Sun And Ultra Moon News

Would've been nice if we get more Pokemon than what was revealed so far. More UBs, maybe new megas, Oricorio forms, or even Alolan forms. They made an effort to add a new Lycanroc form and 2 more UBs so I'm hoping there's still more aside from that. Will still buy the game though despite what other people say about Sun and Moon being bad. Been a Pokemon fan ever since I was a kid and I still enjoy playing them.

Re: Review: Metroid: Samus Returns (3DS)

Never played a Metroid game. Never owned any other console aside from the 3DS and the Switch due to lack of resources. But I'm giving this a try, and hopefully like it in preparation for Metroid Prime 4.

Re: Monster Hunter Stories Makes Modest UK Chart Debut as Destiny 2 Dominates

janfritz

Due to the release of Destiny 2, people probably bought new PS4/XB1 units, and including additional games too. Which is probably the reason why a couple of PS4/XB1 games jumped high in the charts. We were just given the rankings. Maybe a huge number of people bought Mario+Rabbids. The ranking may have declined but who knows, maybe the sales increased so I guess it's still a win for Ubisoft and Nintendo if that is true.

Re: Don't Pay Over The Odds For A SNES Classic Mini, Urges Reggie Fils-Aime

Maybe that's his way of saying that there will be more stocks to come. Just hoping.
But retail stores are also to blame for this one. I don't really know if there is a limit to how many you can preorder, but here in Japan a person is limited only to 1 stock for items such as the Switch. Scalping may not be completely erased this way, but at least it gives a chance for other people who want to buy. And preorder here usually isn't limited to stocks but given a time duration.

Re: Some Retail Nintendo Switch Games Will Require You To Own A MicroSD Card

janfritz

@UmniKnight That's just my opinion btw. For me it's much more convenient to have co-op games digitally since there is no need to keep switching between cartridges if people wanna try different games. Also helpful in case I didn't bring some games and people wanna play together. But that's just me, do whatever's convenient for you.

Re: Some Retail Nintendo Switch Games Will Require You To Own A MicroSD Card

Summary of the arguments here:
1. "We need to download additional data?!" > "nintendo's not the first to do this!"
2. "Why not buy a bigger capacity cartridge instead? Why should the customers shoulder the extra cost?" > "but then the game would be too expensive"
3. "Let's boycott this practice" > "well goodbye to the 3rd party support. It starts here"
4. "The switch should have a bigger internal memory instead. 32GB sucks" > "but then the switch would be priced very high. Nobody's gonna buy that"

Although I'm not interested in NBA 2K18, I have been thinking of buying a 200GB SD card months ago. The Switch's memory is gonna get all consumed up sooner or later anyway. Not all games can be bought physically, and some games especially co-op are best digitally. For multiple games requiring an SD card, I only need to buy one (I hope).
