Re: Nintendo Takes Legal Action Against California Man For Selling Hacked Systems

@goggles789 I understand what you are saying and why you say it's ok. But you have been misinformed about trademarks. Diablo on PC is not public property in the slightest.

Diablo is a very successful series and to think that a company as big as Blizzard would just let one of their most lucrative RPG games fall into obscurity to be traded freely is absurd.

These aren't real rules you are following, they are made up.

Again I am all for the preservation of video games, but just because someone dumped the rom far far away from you, it's still in a legally grey area.

@Helix87UKNOW Just make sure to run spell-check, and learn the difference between their, they're, and there before you hand in that economics paper.

I know you may not like it, but there is room for both RDR2 and Smash Ultimate on the store shelves. Everybody wins when we are treated to such a fine array of spectacular games.

It's so strange that Nintendo being successful offends people so much, and brings out the anger. Like every person in the world should be playing Spider Man or they are an idiot.

In college I once wrote a short essay on the movie Avatar without watching it, because I was lazy. While I hit all the right notes, the proof of my sins were in the small details. (My teacher still gave me an 80% for some reason haha). I feel like this article is in the same vein. While all the right notes have been struck, the proof of never having actually played the game are in the small details.

@EightBitMan @Razer

I have been reading this site for a long time, and it's always the same. People come in and proclaim how Nintendo is failing, and they are doomed, the Switch will fail, the Wii U is their last system, the 3DS will never sell, blah blah blah.

Eventually they stop posting in the comments, and Nintendo keeps on rolling along.

@EightBitMan Ok, you have made your point. Received loud and clear. We all get how you feel. We get it.

I happen to enjoy where Nintendo is at right now. They aren't perfect, but nothing is.

You seem to want an experience that Nintendo just doesn't offer. Quick fix, go play on PS4 or PC. Seems like they offer exactly what you are looking for. Problem solved. "State of decay" averted.

Don't get upset at a company because they don't fit the mold which you have created for what a video game company in 2018 should look like. Let Nintendo, and all of its fans go down with the ship if we are sinking. Wouldn't be the first, or the last time someone has told me Nintendo is doomed.

@Anti-Matter Random encounters are still loved by some. Octopath Traveler is doing very well, and it is random encounter city. It is a style of game. Just because you don't like them, don't think you speak for everyone. I love FF4, and it is special to me because when I defeated a boss, it wasn't easy. It took strategy, and planning.

That said, I also enjoy games like Fantasy Life. There is room for all skill levels in video games, but I don't think I died once in all of Fantasy Life. Some people enjoy a challenge.

@LordGeovanni As an old school RPG player, I agree that RPG games have been streamlined to keep people playing. For whatever reason, the human race doesn't seem to have the attention span it used to. haha. I downloaded FF7 on ps4, and was floored to find built in cheat codes to allow you unlimited gold, max level, fight skips etc. I couldn't even play it knowing that I could just cheat at the press of a button. That isn't fun for me, but I always have the psone og version!

I like how hard shiny pokemon are to catch. That's what makes them special. But this isn't a mainline pokegame. This is basically a glorified cellphone app, so let them have their fun! Just be thankful this isn't mainline.

Re: Switch Retail Game Sales In Japan For This Year Have Surpassed The Five Million Mark

@Cobalt I had a great time with Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Project Octopath, Arms, Splatoon 2 and so on. I also enjoy the ports of Mario Kart 8, Tropical Freeze, etc.

Again, your personal tastes come into play in not being able to enjoy these offerings. You know there are over 50 ports on PS4 right?A lot of them are awesome. I never bought a PS3, so the PS3 ports are perfect for me! Gaming isn't just about you.

And please don't pull the, "I have supported Nintendo since the beginning" card, like all of us aren't in the exact same boat.

I'm sorry you feel ripped off by the Wii U, and now all the games you bought are being re-released. I am sorry. It's time to let it go man. Just let it go. You will feel better, and you will probably be able to poop a little more regular.

And if you really are training to become a game designer, be the change you want to see in the industry. No ports...until you get a job at a game company that's doing a port.
