Re: New Splatoon, Legend of Zelda and Super Smash Bros. amiibo Announced

itslukec

I can't believe they made three more Link amiibos. You have one of the most varied, and interesting universes in video game history and you choose three more Links! Ugh

Where is Skull Kid? Linebeck, a Goron, pig gannon, Impa, Navi, any person, palce or thing from A Link to the Past...maybe something Link's Awakening...

Re: Feature: What We Expect From the Nintendo Direct - 12th April

itslukec

They need to get the new Virtual Console going. With the NES classic being such a success among people who usually don't buy Nintendo products, having classic Mario's and the like on the Switch for the launch would have been a good way to convince people to jump on board. Should have been available at launch!

Re: Video: Updated Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Trailer Aims for Top Gear

I am going to buy this, again. I just wish they put in another cups worth of tracks. 8 new tracks would have made me totally on board. 4 new, 4 reimagined classics. If they are gating new tracks behind a dlc paywall I will be a little unhappy. And it takes a lot to make me unhappy. Haha.

I also wish they would go back to the old time trials top 5 method from Mario Karts of the past. I dont care how I rate with some guy from Japan. Also an option to merge your times with a friend so you can stay conpetitve with each other would be fantastic.

Re: Playtonic Removes JonTron's Voice from Yooka-Laylee

itslukec

With the amount of refund requests that Playtonic are getting after removing JonTron, it almost would have been better to take him out of the game without all this fanfare.

I understand Jon was frustrated and spouting hyper-versions of his opinions, as the guy he was debating didn`t really give him much opportunity to clarify, but, what Jon said is something I cannot not agree with. Ever. That doesn`t mean I can`t watch his videos, or enjoy his work. I try my best to separate the entertainment and the person, and at the end of the day everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if it seems extreme.

Celebrities have all manner of opinions and viewpoints about our world. They are, after-all, human beings. If you boycotted every celebrities/entertainers work because their viewpoints offended you, the tv, movie theater, and every game console would be off limits, almost entirely.

All of you arguing here, will be here for eternity because none of you are having a discussion with the option of having your mind changed. These aren't debates. Why spend the energy when no one is going to change their mind. The left and right are completely severed, never to be mended. Why not come to Nintendolife to enjoy Nintendo

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Switch Has Started Well - Now the Real Challenge Begins

@ironside1911 I`m so happy everything worked out for you. The only thing that doesn`t add up with your story is your two day party binge. Don`t you usually have to have "friends" to party? Can you quickly explain to me how you party-binge while utterly and hopelessly alone? I would like to put a lid on this Nintendo Switch fairy tale and play some Othello.

Re: Review: Super Bomberman R (Switch)

@derrin The CPU players are not even an option. There was better CPU AI in Super Bomberman on SNES. Play an 8 player match against 7 CPU players, and after you die, watch how the AI syncs up and all the bombermen do the exact same thing over and over. It's unbearable. The only way to play battle mode is with friends, or online. Although the online play has been choppy as anything.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Lists His Top Three Favorite Zelda Games

itslukec

I had a good time with Phantom Hourglass. Some interesting puzzles in the game that made you have to really think outside the box. Like actually closing your ds, blowing in the mic etc. The controls worked rather well.

Spirit Tracks loses my attention every time I try playing it, and I'm not sure why.

The best Zelda is Links Awakening, by the way.

Re: Poll: Does Nintendo Switch Need Streaming Apps and a Web Browser, Or Is It All About Games?

itslukec

My PS4 has basically become a 400 dollar Netflix machine. That's all it gets used for. But seeing as the Switch will not have Netflix, it seems like the PS4 will still be vital in my life, for tv and movies. It's a shame Nintendo didn't get these aps on their new system because people will be asking for them when they buy a Switch and turn it on for the first time. They are pretty much standard on every other piece of tech that releases these days.

Re: Super Bomberman R's Retail Price Has Finally Been Confirmed

itslukec

@spizzamarozzi When the general cost of living goes up, that means video games go up too. But I understand what you are saying, people don't have as much money to spread around for entertainment.

I don't think it's sudden interest in Bomberman. The series used to be top tier. Then they released little 10 dollar cheap experiences, and sub par efforts which tanked the good name it had. Bomberman doesn't deserve to be shovelware.

Re: Super Bomberman R's Retail Price Has Finally Been Confirmed

itslukec

@spizzamarozzi The cost of living has gone way up since then, so you aren't really making a valid point.

Steam and the mobile market have devalued video games in peoples eyes. No matter what a game is priced, it always seems like everyone whines that it should be 10 dollars cheaper. If it is out of your price point, or you don' t think there is value then pass on the title. I want a Ferrari, but I am not going to whine that the car should be cheaper because I don't think there is enough value, without even having tested one. (No, I am not saying Bomberman is a Ferrari. More like a Volvo)

And also. just because you don't have any friends and won't be able to take advantage of the multiplayer (where Bomberman has always shined), that doesn't mean that the game is not worth what the company says it is.

Anyways, just wait and the price will drop anyways. Or go buy a different game. Go outside. I don't care.

Re: Review: Super Mario Run (Mobile)

itslukec

@ProfessorToad I understand where you are coming from, you are used to your mobile games being free. If you don't like the price point, or the content of the game then I think you should stick to Rayman. Other people enjoying a mobile video game shouldn't make you angry. Also, console games still exist, even after today, and all of us still love them. So try it, buy it, or move on.

That being said, I really like what I have played. Seems short, but the three colored coins, and Toad Rush will def keep me busy. The quality of this game excites me for Fire Emblem.

Re: Yooka-Laylee's Wii U Cancellation is Only Due to Technical Challenges, Not the System's Woes

itslukec

Just get your refund if you feel stabbed in the back. This has happened on the Wii U so many times already, are you actually surprised? It doesn't make sense from a technical or business standpoint to follow through with this. They didn't know Nintendo would be pulling the plug on the Wii U well before a consoles normal life cycle.

You have many other options to play this game. Or if you are so salty that it is Wii U or nothing, because of the principle of the matter, then get your refund and move on. If you had a new company, you wouldn't make unwise business decisions either!

Re: Eiji Aonuma and Satoru Takizawa on the Fate of Wind Waker 2

itslukec

Wind Waker really did a good job filling me with a sense of wonder as I set sail on the open seas. Who knew what the next island would contain? Phantom Hourglass was a fantastic handheld sequel, with some of the best use of the DS's extra functions contained in any game. If you haven't played it. Go get it.

Losing out on a console sequel to it in favor of Twilight Princess pains me. I have been playing this series from the very first game, and TP is the only Zelda I don't really like.
