@0muros no see, the higher resolution and frame rates are only present when docked. Therefore rendering the whole 'portable' appeal useless in this regard.
@ZeldaNX quick cash in from Nintendo. They need to get back to year 1 type stuff for Switch again and quick. Nintendo is known to drop the ball of momentum.
I love how everyone denouncing this speculation are current Switch owners. LOL buyers remorse much?
Honestly, I hope Nintendo does this literally because of you people. And I'll pre-order one the day they announce it too. A PS4 Pro caliber Switch? Yes please.
@NoxAeturnus I'm guessing you didn't watch the video. Yes, they can. It's called the Tegra 2 chip and it would simply replace the Tegra 1 in the current Switch.
@Cruznbaby85 this argument works both ways. The lack of power is also not king.
However, if Nintendo plans on stretching the lifespan of Switch beyond 5 years, as they've stated, that will not be happening solely with the current iteration of the Switch as we know it today.
Just looking at the comments in here, there's no mystery as to why it's skipping Switch.
Nintendo fans are a self fulfilling prophecy when it comes to the lack of 3rd party games.
Trust me in that, these 3rd parties are seeing that no one is buying their titles on Switch, just like Wii U before it, and soon that well will dry up this gen just as it does every gen before it.
The successes of Wii fell off a cliff after year 3. Nintendo would be fools to repeat that mistake. Sounds like something Nintendo would most certainly do.
Dude, take it from somebody who was a Nintendo only gamer up until 2014. Buy a second console. You are missing out on about 2/3rds of the gaming world. Not even trolling. 10 years ago I'd laugh at the notion of owning a Xbox. Today, I'm thankful for my XB1. Let alone a PS4! Switch is a nice change of pace secondary console, but if you're into all that is gaming, you're selling yourself short.
@Marios-love-child on the contrary, I found 3D World to be the perfect mix of everything I expect going into a Mario game. I only reached this conclusion after having played Odyssey (a fine game in and of itself, just not what I want from a mindless Mario experience). Back in 2013 when 3D world first debuted, I felt slighted as I was still expecting Galaxy 3. But times and tastes change.
Also, 3D World was the first time in a long time I didn't have to save the damn princess again. So over that trope. I played the game as princess!
@liljmoore it amazes me that people are still asking this. Retro studios is the new Rare, people. The same folks that made the great MP series are no longer even working there.
Yep, just as I predicted. These big time AAA 3rd party companies will give Nintendo a shot every generation. And then every generation Nintendo fans ignore their games while clamoring for more Mario.
So, what happens? 3rd party support dwindles. Shame, really.
Probably the best thing Nintendo has made since.... Mario 64?
Now, I understand the Wii and Wii Sports may have been more impactful on a mainstream and company level, but as far as game design is concerned... BOTW is the cream of the crop.
@NEStalgia well yeah, I get that. But it's not like it's hurting Nintendo selling those Switches for that purpose. It's just not helping as much as it would in the case of someone buying one to also buy a bunch of software.
@r4builder "this was said about the Wii when the simple Wii Sports was displayed."
I really don't think it was though. All it took for Wii was that 2006 E3 reveal where everyone was lined up en masse for hours trying to get their hands on it. The rest is history.
I swear I just don't see how Labo isn't going to be a resounding flop (beyond the droves of curious early adopters, anyways).
It's friggin' cardboard, people! Once the first wave of orders break after light use (because, well, cardboard), I don't see many folks picking up 2nd and 3rd orders of this stuff.
But hey, I guess finally Nintendo has a justification for their underwhelming HD rumble.

Re: Nintendo Switch Continues To Dominate The Hardware Charts In Japan
@GrailUK pretty much the only games worth getting, unless you have no other console whatsoever.
Re: Nintendo Switch Continues To Dominate The Hardware Charts In Japan
@Anti-Matter wut.
Re: Nintendo Download: 5th April (North America)
Quality, not Quantity.
Looks like only Far Cry 5 for me.
Re: Nintendo Switch Continues To Dominate The Hardware Charts In Japan
Who'd a thunk that Japanese love portable gaming machines?
Re: Dark Souls Remastered To Feature Improved Frame Rates In Blighttown
@0muros At least you properly labeled his take as an opinion, because it certainly isn't fact.
Re: Nintendo Has Detailed The USB Cables You Can Use To Safely Charge Your Switch
@SmaggTheSmug yeah, that company is Nintendo.
Re: Dark Souls Remastered To Feature Improved Frame Rates In Blighttown
gotta love them portz

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Lavishes Praise On Outlast 2 Switch Port
Half the frames?! I swear when did this become a non-thing? I'd take 60 frames over a matched resolution any day.
Re: Review: Outlast 2 (Switch eShop)
I'll stick with resident evil 7. Having other consoles is a really novel concept.
Re: Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Will Be Playable On Switch Next Month At PAX East
@Thisismycomment those reports don't exist, because it wasn't true.
Re: Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Will Be Playable On Switch Next Month At PAX East
@Dayton311 lol you waited? This game is like 20 dollars on other systems and will play worse on Switch. Let me guess, portability and whatnot.
Re: Review: Detective Pikachu (3DS)
Loving all the salty switch owners. Don't be mad at nintendo because you bought the wrong console.
Re: Review: Kirby Star Allies (Switch)
@ZeldaNX quick cash in from Nintendo. They need to get back to year 1 type stuff for Switch again and quick. Nintendo is known to drop the ball of momentum.

Re: Fornite Is Coming To Mobile, So When Is It Coming To Nintendo Switch?
I love it. Nintendo's fault here, really.
And now that it's on mobile, pretty much renders a switch version pointless.
Re: Fornite Is Coming To Mobile, So When Is It Coming To Nintendo Switch?
@TommyTLG you mean for your 10 year old brother to play... right?
Re: Tennis World Tour Is Swinging For Match Point On Nintendo Switch
@Spoony_Tech can't tell if serious or not.
Re: Nintendo Has No Plans For A Switch 2.0, Sources Claim
@Dog In comparison to Wii U, sure. In comparison to its own first 3 years? Not even close. Go check the numbers.
Re: You Can Now Spend Your My Nintendo Gold Points On Digital Switch Purchases
Looks like Nintendo kicked us all out da Club....

Re: Rumour: Is Blizzard Teasing A Nintendo Switch Port Of Diablo 3?
@JTMnM the ironic part about Overwatch is that it is the most 'Nintendo' FPS there could ever be, if Nintendo made FPSs.

Re: Review: Toki Tori 2+ (Switch eShop)
@OorWullie heh. I was the same way. Didn't like this but loved the original.
Re: Hackers Are On A Mission To Port More Doom To Switch
I hope the Switch ends up getting exploited worse than the PSP even.
Re: Playerunknown's Battlegrounds On Mobile Gives Hope For Switch Port, Says Digital Foundry
@PipeGuy64Bit classic NDF response. "No thanks".
Yeah, as a Nintendo console owner, let's deter games from landing on the platform. Everyone always enjoyed less options.

Re: Be There On The Double As PAW Patrol: On A Roll Pads Onto Switch
Ah, the classic dilemma of "great game for my young child(ren) to play" vs. super fragile expensive electronic device.
Eh who am I kidding. Parents give their kids $600 iPads on the daily to just fling around all willy nilly. Dilly, dilly!
Re: Be There On The Double As PAW Patrol: On A Roll Pads Onto Switch
@wizlon having a 4 year old myself and knowing all of the references here... this is easily top comment.
Re: Video: What's It Like To Play DOOM With Motion Controls, Then?
Still loving DOOM multiplayer on XB1 @ 60fps. Pretty sweet.
Re: Hackers Turn The Nintendo Switch Into A Functioning Linux Tablet
@CptFalcon dude you're on NintendoLife. Half the people here don't even know what a CD Projekt Red is, let alone the Witcher series.
Re: Video: Nintendo Labo Is Much More Than Cardboard, You Guys
The gaming industry is more popular than it's ever been because people like to kick back with a dual analog and a big screen TV and veg out for hours.
But hey, prove me wrong Ninty.
Re: Video: Get To Know Nintendo Labo Even Better With These In-Depth Trailers
@aaronsullivan 6 months after Labo launches nobody will be playing with these anymore.
Think: Wii accessories. Or amiibo.
Re: Review: Bayonetta 2 (Switch)
@AlphaElite SHHHH!!! Fake news fake news!! Someone muffle this guy!
Seriously this is very similar to the Wii U version.

Re: Sounds Like Bandai Namco Really Is Working on Metroid Prime 4
I love how 52 people have 'Like'd @SLIGEACH_EIRE's comment. Sounds like 52 people that desperately don't want this information to be true.
Sounds like MP4 is gearing up to be less than awesome. Perhaps the next Other M. This is not the developer you want making this game.

Re: Olé! Sales Of Nintendo Switch In Spain Have Now Surpassed Xbox One
@BenAV pretty much everything that PS4 has going for it. It's just that MS made the mistake of initially bundling in the Kinect and asking $100 more.
Re: Rainway Beta Is Live, But There's Nothing But Disappointment For Switch Owners
@NEStalgia well yeah, I get that. But it's not like it's hurting Nintendo selling those Switches for that purpose. It's just not helping as much as it would in the case of someone buying one to also buy a bunch of software.
Re: Retro Rules As Nintendo Switch's ACA Neo Geo Library Hits 1 Million Sales
Interesting. It's almost as if Switch owners might like a Virtual Console type deal.
Re: Rainway Beta Is Live, But There's Nothing But Disappointment For Switch Owners
@maruse how would this hurt Nintendo's business exactly?
If anything, it would garner more Switch hardware sales.

Re: Almost Half Of The Games In Japan's Charts Are On Switch, Mario + Rabbits Takes Top Spot
1st party, 1st party, 1st party, 1st party....
Soon, the Switch's 3rd party situation will mirror Wii Us. What is the deal with the Nintendo gamer and 3rd parties?
