@0muros no see, the higher resolution and frame rates are only present when docked. Therefore rendering the whole 'portable' appeal useless in this regard.

Half the frames?! I swear when did this become a non-thing? I'd take 60 frames over a matched resolution any day.

I'll stick with resident evil 7. Having other consoles is a really novel concept.

@NoxAeturnus I'm guessing you didn't watch the video. Yes, they can. It's called the Tegra 2 chip and it would simply replace the Tegra 1 in the current Switch.

@Cruznbaby85 this argument works both ways. The lack of power is also not king.

However, if Nintendo plans on stretching the lifespan of Switch beyond 5 years, as they've stated, that will not be happening solely with the current iteration of the Switch as we know it today.

Just looking at the comments in here, there's no mystery as to why it's skipping Switch.

Nintendo fans are a self fulfilling prophecy when it comes to the lack of 3rd party games.

Trust me in that, these 3rd parties are seeing that no one is buying their titles on Switch, just like Wii U before it, and soon that well will dry up this gen just as it does every gen before it.

I love it. Nintendo's fault here, really.

And now that it's on mobile, pretty much renders a switch version pointless.

@JTMnM the ironic part about Overwatch is that it is the most 'Nintendo' FPS there could ever be, if Nintendo made FPSs.

The successes of Wii fell off a cliff after year 3. Nintendo would be fools to repeat that mistake. Sounds like something Nintendo would most certainly do.

Dude, take it from somebody who was a Nintendo only gamer up until 2014. Buy a second console. You are missing out on about 2/3rds of the gaming world. Not even trolling. 10 years ago I'd laugh at the notion of owning a Xbox. Today, I'm thankful for my XB1. Let alone a PS4! Switch is a nice change of pace secondary console, but if you're into all that is gaming, you're selling yourself short.

@Marios-love-child on the contrary, I found 3D World to be the perfect mix of everything I expect going into a Mario game. I only reached this conclusion after having played Odyssey (a fine game in and of itself, just not what I want from a mindless Mario experience). Back in 2013 when 3D world first debuted, I felt slighted as I was still expecting Galaxy 3. But times and tastes change.

Also, 3D World was the first time in a long time I didn't have to save the damn princess again. So over that trope. I played the game as princess!

Yep, just as I predicted. These big time AAA 3rd party companies will give Nintendo a shot every generation. And then every generation Nintendo fans ignore their games while clamoring for more Mario.

So, what happens? 3rd party support dwindles. Shame, really.

Now, I understand the Wii and Wii Sports may have been more impactful on a mainstream and company level, but as far as game design is concerned... BOTW is the cream of the crop.

I really don't think it was though. All it took for Wii was that 2006 E3 reveal where everyone was lined up en masse for hours trying to get their hands on it. The rest is history.

I swear I just don't see how Labo isn't going to be a resounding flop (beyond the droves of curious early adopters, anyways).

It's friggin' cardboard, people! Once the first wave of orders break after light use (because, well, cardboard), I don't see many folks picking up 2nd and 3rd orders of this stuff.

But hey, I guess finally Nintendo has a justification for their underwhelming HD rumble.
