Re: A Cheaper, Customisable 'Nintendo Switch 2nd Set' Has Launched In Japan Without A Dock

@rjejr ah but you see, this isn't for people who already own a switch at all. The pricing is indicative of this as well. What Nintendo is truly going after here is the audience of folks that exclusively want a switch as a portable device only.

It's just that, by flat out saying this is a" switch minus the dock for you portable lovers" (effectively throwing their entire initial campaign to the wind) they spin the PR as it being a second switch. Please, we see through that like windex-ed windows.

But, what's most amazing here is the fact that Nintendo will go to these sorts of lengths after identifying how the market has dictated their switch use (heavy on the portable play, light on the docked play) but still will not budge on the D-Pad for the left joycon even though the market has more than dictated how they are choosing to play (heavy on the portable mode, light on the 2 player joy con mode). Just give the people a d-pad already, Nintendo.

@gortsi who said anything about weird? Switch owners will buy it literally because of the lack of games to buy on switch.

I mean who is honestly sitting around going "man, I would totally get game XYZ but ya see, Runner 3 drops that week man. Priorities." Let's be real.

@gortsi no i mean i'm referring to all the switch owners stating "day one purchase err mah gerddd" and whatnot.

This game will not sell well on PS and XB.

The best BIT.TRIP games will always be the Wii ones. The campiness of the look was half of what made them great.

Runner was fun, 2 was ok but grew stale. We don't really need a 3rd. But I get it, switch owners something something starved for games something something

@NEStalgia " Someone pointed out the other day that the top sellers in physical games on Amazon are always Switch games. Is it because Switch games outsell Playstation games? Heck no. It's because the #1 seller for Playstation is a PSN Store gift card. Most PS/XB customers are buying digital games now. But most Nintendo customers are buying physical."

Bingo.

I think it was @jaxonH or someone on here a few weeks ago bragging about the sales/pre-order position of DKC on Amazon as if it were a relevant metric.

The world outside of Nintendo has long gone digital, because there are legit incentivized reasons to do so. On my XB1 I own digital versions of about 30 games. I can download them on literally any other XB1 i choose to sign into and fire up my saved play session right where i left off. WHAT A NOVEL CONCEPT.
