I don't get Nintendo fans need for obsessing over Retro and convincing themselves whatever it is they're working on is inherently a piece of software they must have.
@johnvboy hey switch is doing great, only a fool would deny that.
The problem with Nintendo is that they typically sh*t the bed when it comes to sustaining success. Labo isn't a good sign that they've learned lessons of the past.
Lolol this is all just great. You know what would be better? Actual confirmed games from Retro. They've only been working on Tropical Freeze for the last 8 years is all.
Yeah, let's just keep this all secret and rumor. Because why not. Hype and whatnot.
The saddest part about Switch online (and every Nintendo attempt at online each console generation) is that it will be completely scrapped and overhauled on the next console generation for something entirely different.
"This weekend, I’ll be attempting to finish putting together the rest of my Labo Variety Kit. I’ve shamefully only completed half of it - the rest has been lying on my floor, waiting patiently for my attention"
I have a feeling this is the case for a lot of folks that bought into the labo hype.
@RainbowGazelle in this regard, the portable nature of switch isa detriment. I'm sure they dont want people saving to external hard drives and then undocking their switches and being screwed.
" it's still a little surprising that Nintendo didn't out-source this work to another firm to free up resources for Retro's current project - which, lest we forget, we still know nothing about. "
With Xbox Live @ $60 a year I'm given 3 free games a month. As in, 3 current gen games. XB360 games I get for free I also keep even if I cancel the service.
Also, no matter how you spin it, that NES thing is a joke. Even the folks defending it are operating off of the assumption that there will eventually be SNES and N64 (and beyond) games available as well.

Re: Rumour: Fresh Details Of Star Fox: Grand Prix Suggest It's Not Like F-Zero At All, Thanks Very Much
Yeah I'll be passing on this one.
I don't get Nintendo fans need for obsessing over Retro and convincing themselves whatever it is they're working on is inherently a piece of software they must have.
Re: Nintendo's E3 2018 Presentation Gets An Official Title
@johnvboy it really does seem to be a bit tense in here. Glad I could help.
Re: Nintendo's E3 2018 Presentation Gets An Official Title
Better be like 30 minutes of MP4 footage and a Treehouse play session afterwards.
Re: The Latest European My Nintendo Rewards Include Discounts On Kirby And Wave Race 64
Huh, no switch rewards
Re: Random: Ariana Grande Has Recreated Her Single 'No Tears Left To Cry' Using Nintendo Labo
@Samwise7 you do know that Wii U was also heavily promoted on Jimmy Fallon, right? Like, multiple times.
People won't be culturally persuaded towards labo because of something like this. People are smarter than that.
Re: Random: Ariana Grande Has Recreated Her Single 'No Tears Left To Cry' Using Nintendo Labo
@Samwise7 this will have no impact on the sales success of labo. Unless I'm misinterpreting your use of the word genius

Re: Rumour: Retro Studios Has Another Project In Development Alongside Star Fox
@NotAceAttorney where in my comment do I even remotely wish for a company's downfall?
I even call this rumor fake news. Now, I can see how the facetiousness in my first sentence didn't exactly jump out over text, sure.
Re: Rumour: Retro Studios Has Another Project In Development Alongside Star Fox
@OorWullie trust me, it could only get better than that.

Re: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze Hangs Onto Second Place In UK Charts
@ricklongo I'm pretty sure another DK game at this juncture would not be received very well among switch owners. Just my take though.
Re: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze Hangs Onto Second Place In UK Charts
@YummyHappyPills i mean what else are switch owners going to buy? Labo?
Re: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze Hangs Onto Second Place In UK Charts
lol labo
Re: Miitomo, Nintendo's Original Mobile App, Passes Away

Re: Video: Examining the Likelihood of Fortnite Battle Royale on Nintendo Switch
@JJ286 god that dude was insane, forgot all about him. what ever did happen to him was he banned?
Re: Video: Examining the Likelihood of Fortnite Battle Royale on Nintendo Switch
@Gerald the better question to pose is why do my comments bother you?
Re: Video: Examining the Likelihood of Fortnite Battle Royale on Nintendo Switch
@Gerald i had a switch for almost 3 months. Wasn't really a fan, only undocked it twice. But hey that's just a fact.
Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Swings To The Top Of The Japanese Charts
@Ooyah japan loves their portables for sure
Re: Video: Examining the Likelihood of Fortnite Battle Royale on Nintendo Switch
@Gerald oh, you're actually being serious. Look, I've said it a thousand times: a difference of opinion from your own does not = a troll.

Re: Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate Hits Switch This August
@tourjeff "You can defend them as much as you want but it doesn't change the fact that they are not supporting the Switch as much as everybody else."
Actually, I'd argue that there's only a handful (if that) of 3rd parties actually supporting switch. I wouldn't go so far as to say "everybody else".
Re: Video: Examining the Likelihood of Fortnite Battle Royale on Nintendo Switch
It's like Wii U and Minecraft all over again. One day. One day...
Re: EA Just Had A Record-Breaking Year Despite A Decline In Physical Sales

Re: Miitomo, Nintendo's Original Mobile App, Passes Away
@Grumblevolcano i could see that
Re: Miitomo, Nintendo's Original Mobile App, Passes Away
@Ralizah I agree with this. And this coming from someone who was completely obsessed with the Wii era and totally bought in.
Re: Miitomo, Nintendo's Original Mobile App, Passes Away
@SethNintendo "Users can attempt to create and program on their own infinitely."
Sure, they "can". But I argue they "won't". I guess in that sense, it's the userbase dropping the support, kind of like what happened with Miitomo.
Re: Miitomo, Nintendo's Original Mobile App, Passes Away
@Pod I'd say nintendo producing more types of kits than what they've produced up to this point?
Re: Miitomo, Nintendo's Original Mobile App, Passes Away
@Anti-Matter why do you even bother replying to me
Re: Miitomo, Nintendo's Original Mobile App, Passes Away
@Stocksy "I never approve of flip flopping with support for things like this - Nintendo is far to quick to dump support to things"
I suspect labo is next.
Re: Miitomo, Nintendo's Original Mobile App, Passes Away
I gotta say, this whole partnership with DeNA has been rather underwhelming up to this point.
Miitomo and Switch's online situation aren't exactly two ringing endorsements.
Re: Retro Studios Handled The Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Port On Nintendo Switch
@Damo haha I agree, although I was more so saying that I think this was their "next" project lol
Re: Nintendo Hints That Not All Switch Games Will Support Cloud Saves
@RainbowGazelle in this regard, the portable nature of switch isa detriment. I'm sure they dont want people saving to external hard drives and then undocking their switches and being screwed.
Re: Nintendo Switch Online Finally Revealed: Cloud Saves, NES Games And Pricing Confirmed
@holygeez03 this is actually the use case of a lot of switch owners. They only really use the online to play a game or three and that's it.
Those NES games won't have any value to the lot of you 2 or 3 months from now, stop kidding yourselves.
Re: Nintendo Switch Online Finally Revealed: Cloud Saves, NES Games And Pricing Confirmed
Something else people aren't even considering in here.... sure, it's $20 a year right now.
Let's see what Nintendo prices it at going forward as more "features" trickle out at a Nintendo like pace.
Re: Nintendo Switch Online Finally Revealed: Cloud Saves, NES Games And Pricing Confirmed
@gortsi maybe it is 4 games. but oh man, you totally outed me. definitely don't own an xbox one at all.
Re: Retro Studios Handled The Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Port On Nintendo Switch
" it's still a little surprising that Nintendo didn't out-source this work to another firm to free up resources for Retro's current project - which, lest we forget, we still know nothing about. "
Um, guys. I think we just got our answer.
Re: The Virtual Console Isn't Coming To Switch, Nintendo Confirms
@Richard_Atkinson Surely.

Re: Nintendo Reveals Details Of Nintendo Switch Online
It is the year 2018, right?
Also, no matter how you spin it, that NES thing is a joke. Even the folks defending it are operating off of the assumption that there will eventually be SNES and N64 (and beyond) games available as well.
$20 a year for save back ups. Wowzers.
Re: Video: Here Are 10 New Switch Games Coming To Nintendo Switch In May
@shadow-wolf well said, and fair enough on the NDF term. I'll refrain from that moving forward.
