@westman98 i'm literally basing my assessment on everything Nintendo has done in the past. Nothing more.
At this point I'm the living embodiment of the 'Michael Jackson eating popcorn' gif just waiting to see what their next Wii U will be. Or GameCube. Or Virtual Boy.
@Anti-Matter actually it's quite the opposite. I'm confused as to why so many nintendo fans are salty towards achievements. or rather, the lack of Nintendo systems having them. So they spin the narrative and act as if they are some inherently bad or negative thing. when in reality they are rather envious. If BOTW had achievements, every single person on this site would be scratching tooth and nail trying to 100% every single one of them.
@Ludovsky yeah. I feel as though Switch didn't even need Labo. It's one of those things that one team inside Nintendo really wanted to do once Switch success took off, and another team was probably like "ehhh.... ok fine. ugh." and here we are.
Aside from a rather odd and short article that isn't really saying much of anything of real substance, it always cracked me up, this hive mind thinking of NDFers salty over not having achievements or trophies like the two big boys of the industry.
There's nothing wrong or negative about achievements. It's an evolution of the old 'high score' system from arcade days of yester year. Don't like it? Don't achieve it.
So to the commenters: Just stop being salty about not having them on a Nintendo system because if Breath of the Wild or Odyssey had achievements, you damn sure would be striving to achieve every single one of them.
Oh, and to the author: it's you having kids, man. Trust me. Nintendo didn't help at all in getting you over obsessing achievements. It's called being a parent.
@FragRed and their titles should be aimed at the western markets. It's how they've become the #1 gaming company in the world. The western markets are huge, whereas Japan's market share is a blip on the radar.
@Huracan you're missing the fact that the lot of folks here lamenting over this are exclusively nintendo players. I'd venture to guess, just like with DOOM and Wolfenstein, a large majority of folks here have never played Dark Souls.
@HappyMaskedGuy then Nintendo needs to better shore up their 3rd party relations. Sony and MS do not have these sorts of 3rd party frustrations because they essentially roll out the red carpet to 3rd parties. Nintendo will never learn and this delay ultimately fals back on them.
This kind of stuff used to drive me insane until I actually finally caved and bought a non-Nintendo system, and now all my gaming woes are gone.
@Anti-Matter it's funny, you and I. We're both by and large at odds with this community, for very different reasons. It's a sad, bittersweet bond that we share in this regard. We're inseparable, you see. Our own worst enemies.
@Ham-n-jam yes that most certainly would be the best outcome..... if it were 2011. It's 2018 and Nintendo continues to prove it's only really in it for the gimmicks.
You want apps or god forbid cloud saves? Pffft, here's some joy cons that you can hold sideways and play a 2 man game of pac-man with.
Far Cry is such a good game. A title that could never be realized on the Switch, unfortunately. Having as much fun in it as I did with Breath of the Wild.
Announce a damn switch pro with the Tegra X2, Nintendo.
@Cheski this guy gets it. It doesn't matter at this point if it's coming or not. It wasn't announced along side the other versions. This is the age old problem Nintendo has had since the Wii days (GCN support would at least be announced alongside, even though the system failed for other reasons). And it's Nintendo's problem, not the 3rd parties.
@ekwcll look I hear you, and I'm sure subsets of fans of all systems whine and complain, but Switch owners are actually gaining a reputation online for it. Also, while I totally get this:
"Unlike ps4 & Xbox 1, the switch is a hybrid. That's why lots of fans wish that certain games can come on the system, so they can take it with them wherever they go, instead of waiting to come home and play them."
Maybe Nintendo should have splurged for the Tegra X2 chip instead and more titles would also be on switch. But, Nintendo gonna Nintendo.
@BlackenedHalo even if this game is coming to Switch, the fact that it wasn't announced in tandem with the official announcement alongside other consoles IS THE PROBLEM. And it not being announced (if it is indeed coming to switch) is the fault of Nintendo at the end of the day.
@GrailUK wow, first off, I'm sorry. Seriously, you are missing out on fantastic gaming.
Secondly, feel free to have at the entire library as some of it, especially the 3rd party ports (albeit inferior versions of said games) are a part of this amazing library of gaming that has existed outside of nintendo's draconian business relationships for quite some time.
@westman98 "Not too many, considering how many people were on the "Switch is a Wii U/Gamecube 2.0" train (yourself included) during the first few months of its existence."
That has nothing to do with my point, unless you're implying that by saying it's a Wii U 2.0 that it wasn't portable?
@JaxonH because Nintendo fans any more are literally just a bunch of whiny switch owners screaming "BRING (fill in the blank title) TO SWITCH INSTEAD!!" about literally every game that gets announced for (fill in the blank console that isn't switch). Why would the owners of nintendo blogs be any different?
Looks like I have another title to scoop up for my XB1 though! You should too!

Re: Switch Sales Top 15 Million As Nintendo Profits See 500% Increase
@Balladeer just give it time. There's another Wii U coming down the pipeline for Nintendo. There always is.
Re: Switch Sales Top 15 Million As Nintendo Profits See 500% Increase
@Yasume oh don't worry, they'll screw this up. Just like Wii.
Re: Rumour: Fortnite Could Be Headed To Switch With Exclusive Features And Content
if true, just another late port.

Re: Neon Nintendo Switch Was The Best Selling Hardware Of March In The U.S.
@JaxonH wait... Skyrim on switch has sold ~2 million and DOOM ~1 million? I need to see these figures.
Re: Video: Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze's New Easter Egg is Only On Switch
Ah so that's why it's $60.
Re: Kirby Star Allies Sets A New Series Sales Record
never did get into kirby games.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry Explores Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze's Resolution And Frame Rate
@Ludovsky yeah. I feel as though Switch didn't even need Labo. It's one of those things that one team inside Nintendo really wanted to do once Switch success took off, and another team was probably like "ehhh.... ok fine. ugh." and here we are.
Re: Neon Nintendo Switch Was The Best Selling Hardware Of March In The U.S.
@JaxonH "What matters though is Switch being successful enough to get support and games."
It's all for naught though as long as Switch owners continue to not buy said games. Seriously, what are the 3rd party sales numbers looking like?
I feel like everyone is buying BOTW and Odyssey and calling it a day.

@Nincompoop speaking of Labo, boy has that thing really fallen off a cliff since it's debut.
It's like it never released.

Lies!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?
Far Cry 5
Re: Video: Diving Head-First into the World of Nintendo Labo
@MrBlacky please feel free to elaborate, like, at all.
Re: Video: Diving Head-First into the World of Nintendo Labo
@Eef because labo is fundamentally different than "regular games" at its core. It's literally hardware.
IMO Labo is the switch version of Wii accessories. Instead of premade plastics, they've swapped it out for DIY cardboard.
Re: Video: Diving Head-First into the World of Nintendo Labo
I want Labo follow ups months in. I want to see who is still using this stuff 6, 8, 10 months from now. That's the real test.
Re: Japan Is More Excited About Nintendo Labo Than God Of War
@SethNintendo has the potential to outsell Xbox One maybe. They ain't catching Sony.

Re: Just How Is Nintendo Making All The Cardboard Kits For Nintendo Labo?
@Anti-Matter I mean... I do know quite a bit about Labo. And it doesn't look fun at all.
Re: Dark Souls: Remastered Succumbs To Delay On Switch, Along With Solaire amiibo
@JaxonH "What I definitely won't be doing, however, is succumbing to buying a version I don't really want out of impatience."
Unfortunately for Nintendo, this line of thinking is not widely adopted.

@0muros yeah pretty much this.
Re: Just How Is Nintendo Making All The Cardboard Kits For Nintendo Labo?
Labo will be one of those things we all look back on a year from now and go 'lol remember labo?'

Re: Bethesda Busy Optimising Wolfenstein II On Switch, No News On DLC Yet
For switch, these ports are probably worse than the old wii u ports. at least the wii u ports are games no one with a switch has ever played.
Everyone has had their fill of DOOM and Wolfenstein and the sales will reflect this.
Still, I applaud the effort as opposed to no effort.
Re: Nintendo's Shinya Takahashi Hints That A New Games System Is On The Horizon
@IronMan28 please reference a single data point where i state the switch would fail on arrival. I'll wait.
Re: Nintendo's Shinya Takahashi Hints That A New Games System Is On The Horizon
@WiltonRoots new angle? I don't follow. One thing is for certain, many a switch owner are quite salty and on edge for a litany of reasons.
Re: Sega Teases "Huge Announcement" To Be Revealed Tomorrow
@Monkeyofthefunk "& Crazy Taxi"
Hard pass.
Re: Nintendo's Shinya Takahashi Hints That A New Games System Is On The Horizon
I love all the switch owners trying to down play this, justifying their purchases.
Switch Pro coming 2020 baby WOOOOOO!!
Re: Nintendo Download: 12th April (North America)
Quality not quantity.
Re: Preview: Getting Funky in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on Switch
@PanurgeJr I just don't see this game selling well, or driving much demand from folks outside of the core fan base.
Re: Preview: Getting Funky in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on Switch
@PanurgeJr so, to that point, nobody is demanding this game and the sales will reflect that.
Re: Preview: Getting Funky in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on Switch
@Gregnetic thanks for such a solid refute of my statement. Have a good day!
Re: Preview: Getting Funky in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on Switch
No 2D side scroller, in 2018, should ever be $60. Just, no.
Far Cry 5 costs $60.
Re: Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 And 2 Confirmed For Switch
@Don yet? I think it's a foregone conclusion at this point.
Only way VC hits Switch is via a day 1 rollout coinciding with the paid service.
Re: Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 And 2 Confirmed For Switch
@Randomlight winning comment.
Also, I'd like to add that NintendoLife does an excellent job on their article sub-headers. I routinely LOL when I see them.
