I dunno how bad it (the backlash) was, but I am certainly more in agreeance with you. People are locked in which means that they're probably consuming more info to cure the boredom & get them by as they are cooped up. I'm pretty sure that most are used to these juvenile stunts being pulled, but the fact that this joker decided to get a jumpstart on it to maximize the effectiveness of their sham & his/her amusement at the expense of others was pretty damn cruel as well.

Yeah, there's no need to imagine that. As there was a world when they had powerful consoles (much stronger than others that they catered to) & they STILL played politics or did the same ish. Not to mention that's a bunch of BS considering that you had developers crab walking & D-riding trying to find ways to make their titles work on a freaking vita. Even if they had to make a custom engine,versions or whatever. So yeah, I can't really buy that power narrative.
So maybe instead of people getting upset or begging for the attention of these guys & "privilege" of giving them YOUR money, do what I've done forever ago. Lol I mean really, there's WAY too many games ( & much better as well I might add) along with other things out there fighting for my time & entertainment dollar to really give that much of a damn about ONE game. Especially one that I (swear to God) honestly forgot was even around until I saw this article this morning. As virtually nobody that I know is playing it. Be it on an Xbox, PC (if it is actually on there) or ps4. There was one person on my friends list of hundreds that I can maybe remember playing a soul calibur game recently. Not even sure if it's the latest as I haven't kept up with them.
Having it on the Switch is about the only way that they could possibly guarantee my $$$ at this point. As it's the kind of game that, given the console's portability, I could seamlessly hop in and out of on the commute to work, on lunch break, etc. Hell, the portable option is probably the only reason I'm getting back into Fighters a bit more these days seeing as I'm an adult with a full life .Between working hard, partying harder, traveling, gym, relationships et ceteta I don't have time to sit in a basement all day trying to count every frame & figure out every possible combo anymore (though I so wish I still did,don't get it twisted). So no disrespect. Sure it's a cool game still, sure, but like others have mentioned, I've found other fighters & older interations much more enjoyable than some of the later installments.
Not to mention that it's not exactly even close to being at the top of the fighting game food chain anymore & can afford to be taking any fans or potentially new customers for granted. With games like SF, Tekken & MK usually in heavier rotation. Hell Nintendo's own Smash Bros has a bigger impact at EVO & in general than soul calibur. And quite frankly there's just a ton of other games much more worthy of my time. So where they might have gotten 40 to 60 bucks out of me if they put it on Switch, they're likely to get nothing or close to it as I'll maybe wait for it to hit games with gold or play it on Game Pass if/ when I start that. And either of those scenarios, I win. Them, maybe not so much.

Out of the three consoles, it's the one that's played the most hands down. One's basically a doorstop, the other gets mostly PUBG runs, some Madden thrown in along with some Gears here & there & the rest is Switch. I know, crazy times we're in where you buy a games console to play games eh?
Certainly was pretty cool from what I played, but admittedly didn't get to delve into it as deeply as I would have liked. Now that we're talking about it I may have to see if maybe I can find it cheap & really get into it. It's far from a ps4 hidden gem though as it wasn't even close to an exclusive. In fact you didn't even need to be into the current gen to play it. I played it on Xbox1, but I know that it was as also available for Xbox360 & ps3 as well. Now if you're s as saying that it's a hidden gem in general, I can certainly agree.
Well to be fair, one could say that maybe not a lot is going on with or in yours considering how invested & worried you are about what that stranger's worried about.
Okay and? If they're playing a game on it, they're a gamer. I know people that had more games for their Wii than people who had PS3's and Xboxes. Myself certainly included. I have a co-worker that literally bought one just because he heard people talking about this, caught a deal, & yet he admits he doesn't even play the damn thing. There's folks who wn about 4-6 games on it & some of those games owned are part of the same franchise.
We can always point out personal & anecdotal examples bro. The fact of the matter is though is that casuals make the bulk of ANY large & successful base,. You can try to spin it anyway that you want to make yourself feel better, but it is what it is. You know more of a gamer than anybody else bro just because you own or love your ps4.
Some of you guys are funny as all get-out. The reason why sony or ANY of these guys ever do well enough for bean counters, fanboys et cetera to talk about & fight over is BECAUSE of the casuals. So I don't know why anyone that wants to talk/brag about numbers would try to minimize, denigrate and/or down play they're huge role in any of these guys success. And really, let's not act like putting a cheap DVD player in your console was something that "hardcore" (lol smh) gamers were clamoring for & wasn't anything but casual. They (sony) came into the game with casual all over them.
And hey, nothing wrong with that. As no matter what system it is, it's always the casuals that blow up your base. It's no different than why underground artists decide to go mainstream. The more acore gamers might be the initial quick adopters that help lay the initial foundation, but it"s always been the casuals that come to your system to truly help explode the numbers & build the fort. If it was truly all these "hardcore" gamers that made up the bulk of the base as so many here would have you believe selling 10 million copies or so of their acclaimed & supposed world beater games wouldn't be seen as some magnificent feat. In fact, that should be more than expected & pretty much just a drop in the bucket if it's all the "hardcore" Gamers out there buying all these "hardcore" games.
Yet, that's generally not the case. Which is why we're celebrating 10 to 12 million copies sold on a use of base of over s hundred million. Now that in no way diminishes the feats accomplished, but hell, there are games that sell about as good or better on Nintendo platgormswith much less advertising and air time than many of these games.
While there's certainly no denying that the library flashed itself later on and became pretty damn good down the line, saying at the launch was anyting less than more then mediocre as laughable. It wasn't even good. I was there pretty much in the beginning and so how bad it was. It wasn't until about damn near two years later that things started to come around and it actually started becoming a little bit worthwhile.
Man, I've not been on here too much in a while, but it was great seeing dimes drop on these clowns heads when I come through. It's got to be a sad life and state of affairs when you're such a lowlife that all you do is troll a gaming Message Board like some stereotypical hygienically challenged basement dweller. It's pretty pathetic, but I do sometimes just shake my head and laugh at these people. In any case, I've never played this game, but I do remember it. While it certain got a glass or two from me, It ultimately got caught up in the wash.
However, now that it's been given a second life, I might check it out on the Switch if the price is right for me. A game like this that may've been overlooked by me before I feel would be a great addition to the my Switch's liibrary. The gunplay and such certainly looks fun enough that it would be great to play during breaks at work, while commuting or maybe on one of our road trips. So, it's all good, let these haters hate. That might be the only thing that some of these guys have going in their life after all.

Don't forget the loads of games on it that the other consoles don't ever get to see like Astral Chain, Bayonetta 3, Fire Emblem & one of if not the highest rated & acclaimed games of the generation in The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild among others. Yeah, there's no need to imagine that. As there was a world when they had powerful consoles (much stronger than others that they catered to) & they STILL played politics or did the same ish. Not to mention that's a bunch of BS considering that you had developers crab walking & D-riding trying to find ways to make their titles work on a freaking vita. Even if they had to make a custom engine,versions or whatever. So yeah, I can't really buy that power narrative.
So maybe instead of people getting upset or begging for the attention of these guys & "privilege" of giving them YOUR money, do what I've done forever ago. Instead of all that hoop jumping, just realize how the real world works. And in said world, if you're not going to even try to to give me what I want, I'm not going to worry about trying to give you my hard earned $$$. Instead simply keeping it in my pocket or give it to another deserving dev/company who actually wants it? Much better world to live in & no imagination needed!
Lol I mean really, there's WAY too many games ( & much better as well I might add) along with other things out there fighting for my time & entertainment dollar to really give that much of a damn about ONE game. Especially one that I (swear to God) honestly forgot was even around until I saw this article this morning. As virtually nobody that I know is playing it. Be it on an Xbox, PC (if it is actually on there) or ps4. There was one person on my friends list of hundreds that I can maybe remember playing a soul calibur game recently. Not even sure if it's the latest as I haven't kept up with them.
Having it on the Switch is about the only way that they could possibly guarantee my $$$ at this point. As it's the kind of game that, given the console's portability, I could seamlessly hop in and out of on the commute to work, on lunch break, etc. Hell, the portable option is probably the only reason I'm getting back into Fighters a bit more these days seeing as I'm an adult with a full life .Between working hard, partying harder, traveling, gym, relationships et ceteta I don't have time to sit in a basement all day trying to count every frame & figure out every possible combo anymore (though I so wish I still did,don't get it twisted). So no disrespect. Sure it's a cool game still, sure, but like others have mentioned, I've found other fighters & older interations much more enjoyable than some of the later installments.
Not to mention that it's not exactly even close to being at the top of the fighting game food chain anymore & can afford to be taking any fans or potentially new customers for granted. With games like SF, Tekken & MK usually in heavier rotation. Hell Nintendo's own Smash Bros has a bigger impact at EVO & in general than soul calibur. And quite frankly there's just a ton of other games much more worthy of my time. So where they might have gotten 40 to 60 bucks out of me if they put it on Switch, they're likely to get nothing or close to it as I'll maybe wait for it to hit games with gold or play it on Game Pass if/ when I start that. And either of those scenarios, I win. Them, maybe not so much.

Certainly speak for yourself bud. As I feel that if ANY of the 3 needs to be left for dead it's sony. I've had hardware from all 3 & theirs aree EASILY my most regretted purchases. Or just someone that likes the game/concept of it & doing you. I mean wouldn't it be just as hive minded to listen to a cluster of people telling you not to bother with a game that you haven't played, but won't give a chance because they said so? It's funny because when I say something like that concerning the overrated hype of games like god of war or tlou I'll get reamed out by people because apparently can't have such an opinion LOL. Even when I've spent my own hard-earned money and/or precious time on those overhyped titles.
Yet nobody brings up all the fanboy memes & reddit d**ck riding that went on when the media was giving steady fellatio to those games. I guess it differs depending on who it's coming from and the budget or something I guess? Thing is I never even saw any memes surrounding the game or even knew that it was meme worthy until that person started talking about it here. And not an avid Reddit attendee at all, so don't know about any traction the title may have gained there.
However, I was unterested in it the moment I saw it & it piqued my interest in that Indie showcase. Ironically enough, I kind of forgot about the game until I read this article. And I've now became even more interested in it again once the person started going on about it actually having memes made about it. Now I'm wanting to check it out even more lol.

Speak for yourself dude. The only feature I need from it they have in spades. And that's games. Any of that other bull$#!t is icing on one of the many cakes that I already have had forever. Out of the three consoles, it's the one that's played the most hands down. One's basically a doorstop, the other gets mostly PUBG runs, some Madden thrown in along with some Gears here & there & the rest is Switch. I know, crazy times we're in where you buy a games console to play games eh?

Certainly was pretty cool from what I played, but admittedly didn't get to delve into it as deeply as I would have liked. Now that we're talking about it I may have to see if maybe I can find it cheap & really get into it. It's far from a ps4 hidden gem though as it wasn't even close to an exclusive. In fact you didn't even need to be into the current gen to play it. I played it on Xbox1, but I know that it was as also available for Xbox360 & ps3 as well. Now if you're s as saying that it's a hidden gem in general, I can certainly agree.

Okay and? If they're playing a game on it, they're a gamer. I know people that had more games for their Wii than people who had PS3's and Xboxes. Myself certainly included. I have a co-worker that literally bought one just because he heard people talking about this, caught a deal, & yet he admits he doesn't even play the damn thing. There's folks who wn about 4-6 games on it & some of those games owned are part of the same franchise.
We can always point out personal & anecdotal examples bro. The fact of the matter is though is that casuals make the bulk of ANY large & successful base,. You can try to spin it anyway that you want to make yourself feel better, but it is what it is. You know more of a gamer than anybody else bro just because you own or love your ps4.

Some of you guys are funny as all get-out. The reason why sony or ANY of these guys ever do well enough for bean counters, fanboys et cetera to talk about & fight over is BECAUSE of the casuals. So I don't know why anyone that wants to talk/brag about numbers would try to minimize, denigrate and/or down play they're huge role in any of these guys success. And really, let's not act like putting a cheap DVD player in your console was something that "hardcore" (lol smh) gamers were clamoring for & wasn't anything but casual. They (sony) came into the game with casual all over them.
And hey, nothing wrong with that. As no matter what system it is, it's always the casuals that blow up your base. It's no different than why underground artists decide to go mainstream. The more acore gamers might be the initial quick adopters that help lay the initial foundation, but it"s always been the casuals that come to your system to truly help explode the numbers & build the fort. If it was truly all these "hardcore" gamers that made up the bulk of the base as so many here would have you believe selling 10 million copies or so of their acclaimed & supposed world beater games wouldn't be seen as some magnificent feat. In fact, that should be more than expected & pretty much just a drop in the bucket if it's all the "hardcore" Gamers out there buying all these "hardcore" games.
Yet, that's generally not the case. Which is why we're celebrating 10 to 12 million copies sold on a use of base of over s hundred million. Now that in no way diminishes the feats accomplished, but hell, there are games that sell about as good or better on Nintendo platgormswith much less advertising and air time than many of these games.

While there's certainly no denying that the library flashed itself later on and became pretty damn good down the line, saying at the launch was anyting less than more then mediocre as laughable. It wasn't even good. I was there pretty much in the beginning and so how bad it was. It wasn't until about damn near two years later that things started to come around and it actually started becoming a little bit worthwhile.

Man, I've not been on here too much in a while, but it was great seeing dimes drop on these clowns heads when I come through. It's got to be a sad life and state of affairs when you're such a lowlife that all you do is troll a gaming Message Board like some stereotypical hygienically challenged basement dweller. It's pretty pathetic, but I do sometimes just shake my head and laugh at these people. In any case, I've never played this game, but I do remember it. While it certain got a glass or two from me, It ultimately got caught up in the wash.
However, now that it's been given a second life, I might check it out on the Switch if the price is right for me. A game like this that may've been overlooked by me before I feel would be a great addition to the my Switch's liibrary. The gunplay and such certainly looks fun enough that it would be great to play during breaks at work, while commuting or maybe on one of our road trips. So, it's all good, let these haters hate. That might be the only thing that some of these guys have going in their life after all.

That's what's up. And that is fair. At least they get a mention. Some might think that they're above covering some of these smaller titles or maybe won't even GAF about them. So at least this gets them some attention & honourable mentions that otherwise may have skipped them. So while I hear the complaint(s) from someone who maybe wants a meatier & more in depth look at some of these games I can certainly see the otherside of that as well.

Also the fact of the matter is a lot of PC gamers will tell you how they can get better performing versions of the games others get for cheaper too. So you could argue/say that other platforms are getting inferior products & paying more of them as well. That's what kills me about some of you haters/trolls. You're not buying people games, so don't worry about how they are spending money. I don't think that was said much at all, so cut the crap. Most people seemed to just not deem it a dealbreaker. Just like most sony fans & Xbox faithful. Anyway, enough with the strawman horse$#!t, that is excellent news. Especially if this is your first time ever getting to experience this game, Nintendo only gamer or otherwise, you're in for a treat. Beautiful game & pretty darnn challenging. I found it much more enjoyable than a lot of this all too similar AAA, wanna be movie & taking itself too seriously stuff these days that people felate on cue.

Straight up dude! Funny thing is I have the means to play it, but I am too busy playing other games and doing other things. However, they might have actually gotten my money had they put it on the Switch, because it would something that I'd play at work wow on break, when I take my switch with me to commute, out of town or whatever.
