Re: UK Charts: Switch Games Pushed Down The Pecking Order As Next-Gen Excitement Takes Over

gameboy1975

@Ralizah

Cyberpunk heck yeah, but that spiderman miles morales game, meh. That's aiight, but something like CyberPunk I'd say is MUCH more essential gaming with it being much more ambitious with what it seems to be trying to bring to the table. Along with being much fresher overall. Not to mention that me & millions of others can still play what basically looks like a DLC chapter IMO on our old ps4's.

Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Isn't Coming To Switch After All

gameboy1975

@Friendly

Exactly. It's not like they're doing me any favors as it's more so the other way around. As it stands, that's pretty much the only way I'd even consider buying the game is if it was on the Switch. Same with a couple of my buddies. When I'm home, there's wayyyyy too many other games that I find more entertaining and would rather play that's competing for my gaming time.

However, if I was allowed to have it on the go and chip away at it say while I'm commuting to work, on my lunch break or when my nieces & nephews are over controlling the TV's, I'd find it much worthier of a purchase. And given that I've only ever been mildly interested in the series in the 1st place they'd maybe be getting free money with a purchase for me. There's games I've purchased on a whim that are still sitting in plastic or I've never been booted up that got that opportunity solely on the portable aspect.

Heck, I know that it might be disappointing for some of you out there (especially if the Switch is your only system), but don't get too discouraged or mad people. Give that energy and monetary reward to somebody who actually deserves and wants it. Go back and buy a game that you may have forgotten about. Or perhaps give some developer's game a chance that you may have been curious about. There's plenty of them out there vying for your dollar these days on the Switch.

Instead of chasing an unrequited love, give that energy to the developers out there that are working hard to get your attention & earn your dollar. Remember, you're doing them a favor, not the other way around. They're not giving these games out as charitable donations after all.

gameboy1975

@Slowdive

I didn't really think that I would be either, but they may have swayed me a bit. And this is actually a game that I wouldn't mind playing on the go. So yeah, hopefully there is a physical edition for me to maybe think about getting. May do my due diligence to see how it looks in handheld mode for myself before seeing if maybe I should consider waiting for a patch or 2.

Re: Microsoft Has A "Very Good Relationship With Nintendo" But Isn't Making Any Promises Moving Forward

gameboy1975

@geordie

Yeeeah, I don't see the whole being in 3rd place of an imaginary toy war as being any real factor. I don't think that they give even a smidge as much about that when they're making their decisions. I mean come on dude, these are the same dudes who rolled out of the bed one day after a weekend night bender & decided to buy Bethesda with the change in their pockets from the night before. They could easily wrap this supposed "war" & any chances of missing a 1st place finish up with their cheque book.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects - September 2020

gameboy1975

@BenAV

Yeah man, you're sounding a lot like me. I remember seeing it before in an Indi direct or something, but I didn't think too much about it honestly and just kind of forgot about it. Then I just saw it in the shop, impulse purchased, and man... easily some of the best money I've spent in a long time. Phenomenal game and better than most of the big budget AAA mehness & garbage that people were going crazy over this year in my opinion. GET. HADES!

Re: Nintendo Is Absolutely Killing It In The UK Right Now

gameboy1975

@Heavyarms55

Yeah well actually reading the article reveals how easily debunked that narrow thinking is considering that even in the article it's saying that both of those consoles are experiencing year-on-year growth as well.

@AmplifyMJ Lol Exactly my friend. Apologies for pretty much aping your point. Lol

Re: Nintendo Is Absolutely Killing It In The UK Right Now

gameboy1975

@Crono1973

They don't have to be for news of their accomplishments & game consoles to be reported. It's not even like the guy or gal here reporting this news was comparing direct numbers to how the Switch did compared to them. Honestly not that hard to understand really.

Re: Rumour: New Monster Hunter For Switch Will Be Revealed Soon, According To Capcom Insider

gameboy1975

And yet the power difference has nothing to do with what was being discussed. When someone pointed out the over achievement of RE.Revelations on 3DS you went about out critiquing & pointing out how they possibly got it done. And hey okay, cool. So I simply pointed out that devs & companies make concessions & find work arounds all the time. Pointing out how people wet their knickers over games like uc4, the last of us & the last god of war.

Even though they they seem to adhere to a similar pattern of using linear paths, often limiting the number/types of enemies on screen, are constantly capped or targeting 30 frames & will have aforementioned enemies with sometimes laughable levels of A.I.. Yet many didn't an eye or nitpick nearly as much about games on MUCH more powerful hardware nearly as much as we're doing here with a 3DS game because the end result works. If anything it's WAY more impressive what they were able to do on such meager hardware no matter what random power comments we're making.

Re: Rumour: New Monster Hunter For Switch Will Be Revealed Soon, According To Capcom Insider

gameboy1975

@Sakaixx

And what's wrong with that? The fact that they were able to squeeze what they did out of the 3DS was impressive no matter how it was done. Heck, sony does stuff like that all the time to achieve higher graphic fidelity on the ps4 & nobody bats an eye. We could always point to the use of linear paths, limited amount of enemies on screen, said enemies having lackluster AI or whatever as they make sacrifices for graphic fidelity as well. Seems crazy to discount or hold a a 3DS to a standard that we seemingly don't with a much more powerful console.

Re: Rumour: New Monster Hunter For Switch Will Be Revealed Soon, According To Capcom Insider

gameboy1975

@Dromosus

Lmao that is almost something that you'd expect from crapcom when it comes to the Switch. And they would probably pat themselves on the back trying to sell it to Switch owners as something fresh, new and exciting for them to come up with & deliver exclusively to Switch owners... unless or until the base of those people that they often take for granted actually make the game a success. At which point they will port it to other platforms & the Switch owners will never see it put on that console again. LOL then it will officially be a full-on Capcom.

Re: UK Charts: Switch Games Make Up Half Of The Top Ten, Animal Crossing Falls To Second

gameboy1975

@Chunkboi79

😴😴😴😴 All of that just to EXACTLY prove my point. As you're riding the games acorns so hard that you're resorting to personal attacks & making A$Sumptions on someone that you don't even know to hastily scuff your kneepads up to whiteknight for the game. Even though I said that it's cool that you like it & that it's even a good game. It just wasn't exactly great or a "masterclass" to or for me, but it's all good as there's different strokes for different folks. Yet here you are stanning & whining like a lil stitch over MY opinion & because I wasn't as moved by it as you. Yeah, I should totally waste my time giving examples, trying to debate with & take seriously some over zealous random who's mind's CLEARLY made up over a game that I don't even feel is worth that sort of effort or giving this much attention for real.

You don't like my opinion,too bad kiddo. That's YOUR problem. Hell, It's not even like I'm some extreme outlier. There's people who thoroughly enjoyed the game much more than myself who wouldn't even call it a "masterclass". So I guess take that to your sensei & smoke it. Seriously, I tried to be civil, but you had to be a 🤡. So it's time for you to pack up your lil' circus & take it the next town over to Ignoreville where a few other 🤡's from here now reside. You or that good, but not great (masterclass 😏😆) game gets no mo' talk or time.

Re: UK Charts: Switch Games Make Up Half Of The Top Ten, Animal Crossing Falls To Second

gameboy1975

@Chunkboi79

Yeah, I'm not going to play that game as I've seen this movie before. Seeing how clearly uber infatuated. you are with the game, I got a feeling that no matter what examples I gave you you'd most likely find a reason to discredit, nitpick or contrarily say that it isn't as good as ghosts. And at that point it just seems to come down to someone trying to tell you why their opinion is better than yours. Nah,no thanks.

So hey man, you feel that it's a master class in gaming, cool. It's good that you liked it. However, I feel like it's a pretty good, but certainly not great game that isn't even in a "masterclass" in a lot of what it's trying to do. It's all good though as thank God for options.

Re: Carrion

gameboy1975

Brilliant game & certainly one that I would suggest. Crazy that they don't have a review up for this IMO gem of a game yet they can be quite quick to put up articles about some dev shooting people down for some totally overblown accounts of port begging; or maybe even bringing up other systems or more unrelated s#!t that nobody is asking them for or about.

Re: "Hard As Heck" Roguelite Star Renegades Brings Turn-Based Combat To Switch This Year

gameboy1975

@nimnio

👏👏👏 So much truth there. It surely seems that it would be much more beneficial & make more sense for them to just ignore them & just engage in something that they actually enjoy & is more akin to their tastes. All of the moaning & crying because a game isn't catering to them when there's such a wealth of other options out there to enjoy is just pretty darn silly.

I mean honestly I've gotten quite a bit tired & increasingly more bored of sony's approach to many of their games. Where they're almost always single player, over the shoulder, trying mucho hard to be emotional wannabe movie games. Where there's a bow & arrow wielding protagonist running about in a containing average stealth gameplay.

Yet, you'll never see me constantly haunting threads of those games just to whine about them or question other folks enjoyment with them. If they're not enjoyable to me, I just don't play them. Not worth constantly groaning about.

Re: Crytek Reveals Docked And Handheld Resolutions For Crysis Remastered On Switch

gameboy1975

@Dezzy70

Hmmm, that might be more of a speak for yourself type of thing. I've been playing on 4K tv's before it was cool or close to being common. I also have all three consoles (ps4, XB1X & of course Switch). And I've never had any real problem going back and forth. Is there a difference, sure it is. Anyone even pretending that there isn't would be disingenuous.

Is it like oh my God, my eyes are going to melt & I can actually see the glitch in the matrix? No, not even close. It's not like we're going all the way back to ps1 or a Saturn lol. Heck, we honestly haven't had any truly "ugly" games since the ps1, maaaaaaybe early ps2 (if we're being a lil bougie lol) era. We have it pretty good as game of these days my friend & I think that we just get really spoiled at times.
Let's not forget about the game Life Of Black Tiger prowling the ps4. Even 20k would polish up or make turd games better. I certainly understand preference & the "to each their own" sentiment, but considering that I meet & have exceeded the criteria that you mentioned in your example I can attest that it's not that jarring lol.

Re: Crytek Reveals Docked And Handheld Resolutions For Crysis Remastered On Switch

gameboy1975

@kalosn

Well honestly it may just be because they feel thar they've wrung out about as much juice out of the Switch version that they could without putting more money in that han might not make it worth it to them. Whether that's bigger cartridges used or paying developers to go through every nook & cranny to see what else they can do, they're still cost with try to do more.

Pretty much any gamer or remotely in the loop person knows that the other systems are beefier. Which I'm pretty sure gives them a good amount more room for overhead Improvement & tweaks. Also being quite similar in architecture , it's gotta be much more efficient & worth trying to wring out more given that it bodes well for these two systems that they know in and out. While there could certainly be patches needed, potential bugs or whatever, we're dealing with that from AAA releases that aren't coming from some port heroes anyway. Just look at some of the funky crap that was going on with days gone for instance.

I'm pretty sure that it's not something too nefarious, just that the version on the little machine that could is doing about all that it can do with what they're willing to invest. So honestly, if the end result is pretty good, I may actually wind up getting it on the Switch myself. As it'll certainly have an uphill battle with so many other games that I may play or let grab my attention otherwise. That is unless it maybe ahowed up in like one of the "free games" list lol.

Re: Crytek Reveals Docked And Handheld Resolutions For Crysis Remastered On Switch

gameboy1975

@Menchi

I know that you're certainly trying to make a point, but seriously lol. How many actual commenters HERE (or people in general after about 4 years of seeing Switch hardware in the wild) can you point to that honestly expected ray tracing bruv? I definitely lurk & peruse around here quite a bit & never saw any of that personally. I feel that I can say with a high level of confidence that there's not even close to anything resembling even a healthy gathering of people here clamoring for or realistically thinking of any ray tracing involved with the Nintendo Switch version of this game.

Re: Phil Spencer Shuts Down Idea Of Xbox Game Pass Coming To Other Platforms

gameboy1975

@SuperGhirahim64

Which is why I never said that your opinion was wrong, stupid or ever tried to invalidate it. I just simply disagree with it. And what I base it on is some anecdotal evidence, some deducible in your face info & even straight up hard numbers et cetera. Things like my personal library always having about that many games or more even if it's a system that I barely power on. Which is seemingly in line with many of my gamer friends & some of their buddies

Also the fact that outside of Nintendo, the top 10 games lists for others are virtually always dominated by third-party software. Where an exclusive comes out, gets a little bump as expected and then often times just disappears. I could also point to where playing devil's advocate I'll ask if exclusives are such an important end all/be all, why do they sometimes hate or shun on a system that constantly has/had them & I get no real answer? I also get a tickle watching as they try bending logic & often twist themselves into knots trying to explain why the exclusives that they rant about & swear by aren't even selling to 15%-20% of the ginormous userbases that they often like to brag about?

Then there's also just the straight up facts of even if we just count the SKU specific units sold ,that they're a lot of times outselling exclusives of those systems? Just look at how well grand theft auto is still doing on say a Microsoft or sony's top software sold list some time. Hell, I remember looking at one chart a little while ago where Minecraft (a MS game) was actually selling better than sony's own games on the system. Might have actually been to top seller that month. Anyway fellow board member, hopefully that's an adequate & thorough enough response.

Re: Phil Spencer Shuts Down Idea Of Xbox Game Pass Coming To Other Platforms

gameboy1975

@TheFullAndy

Nah, that's just you being salty lil lady. And an ASSumingly wrong one at that. As I'm certainly not in my 40's. You're just a clown that was smoking off sony, hating on Microsoft & got mad that people opposed some our nonsense & called you & your lameness out. Anyway, you're weak fam... & you bore me.

Luckily here 🤡's like you can be silenced once I tire of you. So go ahead & ironically get your last words in (that I thankfully won't have to see) like the lil girl or boy you're pretending not to be. Then maybe go take a nap somewhere Boomer. You sound like you're roids are flaring up & all that butt-hurt's got you cranky

Re: Phil Spencer Shuts Down Idea Of Xbox Game Pass Coming To Other Platforms

gameboy1975

@SuperGhirahim64

Yeah, certainly can't agree with you there. I'm against the bulk of these subscriptions & crap as much as anyone, but Game Pass is legit. And it certainly piques my interest more and more by the day. You can get crazy cool looking games like Carrion day one on gamepass! not to mention all the AAA goodness that I see on offer there quite consistently. It might be the best dealing gaming among the three.

On an adjacent note I find it funny this narrative that certain fanboys out there perpetuate & wants everyone to conveniently parrot & believe these days is that exclusives are the only thing that matters. Which conveniently only seemed to come about once they started getting exclusive that were received well & finally worth talking about on there favorite little toy box. Something that abso-frigging-lutely tickles me pink since I'm old enough to remember when Nintendo (who've always did great on the exclusives front) didn't get that same respect & understanding from most of these same people LOL.

Hell, the minute you mentioned a Nintendo exclusive or it got received well, they were like "bu-b-but 3rd party this or 3'rd party that" & propping them up as Rafiki would Simba. Funny how that changed for many the second they saw what having an exclusive wasn't mediocre or outright sucked & garnering itself a 2nd look felt like heh heh.

Luckily though, many of us aren't that easily duped, herded or manipulated & realize that there is much more to gaming then the handful of exclusives that come out every gen for a system. Most gamers that truly game a lot know that while you can appreciate & even prefer those exclusives over many other games, multiplats are usually going to make up the bulk of your library. That is unless you only play like 8 to 12 games or so on a system per generation. Even on my rarely used ps4 I've managed to rack up more multiplats than exclusives ( even if not by much).

Re: Phil Spencer Shuts Down Idea Of Xbox Game Pass Coming To Other Platforms

gameboy1975

@Anti-Matter

Crazy how you missed games like Super Lucky's Tale, the Retro replay games, Ori, Cuphead, Minecraft, the upcoming Ooblets & more on the Xbox when banging on them for their 18+ games while in the same breath talk about your ps4. As they have quite a few games that go out of their way just as much if not more to have games that aren't exactly "cute" & seemingly would absolutely disgust you like gow, the almost masochistic & satirical in it's violence tlou2 & more.

All of these consoles, including Nintendo's have a lot of 18 + games. So I don't know how you can really single out any of these companies on that front. You can choose Fortnite and Disneyland Adventures just as easily on the Xbox as any of the other two mate. Lol
