Bold of you to assume that I'm gonna be upgrading. Nintendo doesn't deserve a cent of my money. But nice to know it runs well on my good ol' Switch, hope the loading times are not too annoying
The game's so good looking in a gross way and sounds so good, but I didn't last three runs before quitting. The gameplay is so uninteresting. It's a shame
Yeah, no, I'm not falling for the "series refresh" talk, AC should be long dead, it's more like a zombie than anything by this point, there's nothing fresh about it
I find so funny that people should be put out by the mere mention of "roguelike", when that's just a vague descriptor of the gameplay loop. Yeah sure it might generally not be your cup of tea, but there are SO MANY kinds of roguelikes that barring yourself from even trying one because of that label seems really reductive and may make you miss some good games
My gf loved the first one so much, can't wait to try this. HOWEVER, it must run really poorly on the Switch 1, mustn't it? Well, we endured the first one's performance just fine, so as long as this one's not worse, I guess it's ok
@Jujuman no it doesn't, that's 100% bs. It hinders people from being able to use previous ideas to iterate upon them, it's technically and by all means stopping people from being creative. It's, moreover, barring people from using an IDEA, which should never be protected by law as it's inexhaustible and non-scarce by definition. Yeah yeah small creators should be protected by IP protection laws or whatever but that's absolutely not the way the system works and there's no sign it will. It's flawed in its theory and even more so in its practical application, as it just serves as a means for huge corporations to smother creativity and the mere possibility of creation by whoever wants to do it. Defending it and Nintendo is outright evil behavior.
Honestly, this is it for me. Nintendo won't be getting another penny from me, possibly ever. I can't believe they filed for this and were granted it. I'm done with them.
This game was such a MASSIVE letdown to me. The blasted platforming mechanics were so janky, and they're absolutely core to the gameplay. Also nothing much fun to do. I finished it with a sense of frustration.
Honestly? Boring. Their art style is great and the dialogue is fun, but Crypt Custodian looked way more interesting and I'm fatigued of indie metroidvanias tbh, and it's their third one in a row! Try something new, guys.
This looks awesome, I think it was my highlight of the presentation. Also they're Brazilian (at least the people presenting the game), it's nice to see fellow countrymen thriving in the gaming industry,
@Vyacheslav333 interestingly, there are roguelikes of at least a few of those genres, when you think about roguelike more of a structure than an actual genre. But yeah, in general it's cheaper and easier to make that kind of game, so many smaller publishers and developers kinda default to it, even more so after Hades and, in the case of metroidvanias, Hollow Knight
Not related, but does someone have serious problem navigating this website? I always have slowdowns and pages that do not load. It's a slog trying to read three or four articles
I dropped the game because of this (and the art style). Maybe I'll go back if it's really fixed. I couldn't believe how they could fumble such a core mechanic and really didn't get the praise the game got. Well...
If there's drift on this, Nintendo should just close up shop. Seriously, how can you not address one of the biggest mistakes on hardware you have ever made?
What the hell was this Direct, man. Everything about this console is really making me feeling meh. It will probably the first time since the Game Cube that I don't buy a Nintendo console at launch (yes, I bought the Wii U at launch).
Specifically about MK, I don't like that the costumes are just, well, cosmetic, and also seem to make a mess of the character selection screen. I also don't feel good about them not disclosing if you can just play a normal GP without having to traverse the world from track to track. And of course I haven't played it and Bandy has said it looks great, but from the videos it just looks like MK8 to me.
ALL OF THAT SAID, the penguin is playable so I've already pre-ordered the console with the game
@-wc- I couldn't express myself properly (apparently still can't lol), but I meant that it seemed to me that, on that hardware overview section of the Direct, they were talking about the main problems with the OG Switch (the stand, small joycons, small shoulder buttons on the joycons etc) without actually acknowledging or directly mentioning them
@-wc- the thing is that in that part of the Direct, they were clearly addressing some of the common concerns regarding the new console's specs, albeit in a tongue-in-cheek manner
They probably fixed it, it would be incredibly dumb to not do it, but I find it very strange how they're approaching the subject. Nobody has said "it's driftless" or "drift-proof" so far and yes, that's worrisome. Imagine if they didn't address this problem at all, it would probably the worst thing Nintendo has ever done hardware wise.
Seems kinda meh to be honest. I want to try DK and prettier Metroid would be of course nice, but I think I'll be holding off on the upgrade. And damn, I even bought the Wii U on launch! But now I don't even like Nintendo as a company and this is going to be REALLY expensive here in Brazil, so, yeah.
Is this full priced? It looks so bland and more like another tech demo. Honestly I didn't have any desire to play it when watching the trailer and firmly thought it would suck to play. At least that doesn't seem to be the case.
@ElkinFencer10 hahah I get you. They should outsource more spin-offs to other companies, like when we had Pinball, Mystery Dungeon, Rangers and some others. At least it'd scratch that Pokémon itch
@Diowine that's true, they were clearly addressing some of the major concerns that came from already existing problems on the Switch, so it'd really make sense for them to address the largest of them all. I hope we're wrong and they've fixed it, because c'mon, it'd be incredibly stupid if they didn't
I can already see this being priced at 4000 reais here in Brazil. That amounts to 1.5x the price in dollars, if you were to simply convert it. Not that I'm not used to it, but goddamn. That's 3 minimum salaries. Nintendo said they were aiming for a bigger presence here, so maybe it will be like 3800? One can only hope!
This was absolutely preposterous, I cackled aloud when they said it was paid. Damn, I know we don't get Wii Sports bundled for free anymore nowadays, but this? Really?
@Lizuka damn, you sure are spewing a lot of negativity on every piece of news here. Chill, man. And get used to the redesign because of course they're sticking with it

7 because it takes that many minutes to travel around the entire map. Amazing, Game Freak and people who still buy this trash, thank you!
