Nintendo is just clueless most of the time, it's amazing. They seem unable to connect with their faithful customers and get with the times in that most stereotypical traditional Japanese company way. Good god, I love their games to death, but a lot of things coming from them just makes me want to give up on ever buying something from them again.
Honestly I quit playing because of this. And because of the awful art style, which I wasn't a fan to begin with. I didn't even like Brothership that much but I was baffled by how people almost unanimously chose Echoes of Wisdom as the best Nintendo game of the year. Damn, what a weak year it was then.
Hey, I dunno it's just for me, but the site has been lagging a lot lately. It never ran (?) smoothly, but now a lot of images and links don't load properly and simple things like voting here in this poll take a lot of tries and or time. Are you guys having technical issues or is it something on my end?
@MSaturn yes, that whole "Nintendo being in its own bubble" thing has some pretty major downsides, such as the over-reliance on first-party games (and thus the utter lack of cross platform launches and abolition of exclusivity) and the lack of proper support from third parties, as you said. I wonder if we'll ever see a simultaneous release of a AAA game on all of the consoles. I guess not
I honest to god thought it was MK8. I just realized it wasn't when people were talking about it afterwards. It just didn't stand out to me at all as something new or particularly exciting
It's perfectly by the numbers. Nothing awe-inspiring, not even particularly exciting. It just looks nice and, I hope, plays nice as well. 5/10 to me. Mario Kart looks really underwhelming, I really initially thought it was just 8. Hope that's not the final game.
@sanderev I can't tell, but I can see. And no, it's not, every console comes with something new and interesting that the its predecessor didn't have. This doesn't
Ok, only a first impression, but it's extremely underwhelming, starting from the name. It just looks and sounds like something ASUS would do with their ROG Ally line and that's just not Nintendo. And the problem is, the hardware is much weaker than that of a ROG Ally already. Nintendo nowadays thrives and survives off of only its IPs, honestly.
Also sadly I can easily see the magnets malfunctioning
People talk so much about Ys that I had to try it. I played Origin recently and didn't like it very much, felt it was kinda clunky. Then I tried the one everybody says is the best or the most newbie-friendly of the bunch: YS VIII and... yeah, it's ok? It looks and feels and plays very low-budget, but the gameplay was fun until it wasn't anymore and I gave up playing. I don't think I'll try anything else from the series, sadly.
Also could Nintendo launch their music service, whose name I have currently forgotten, to non-paying Switch online users? Or even to the general public? I can't see why they don't.
Please lauch in May so I can get it for my birthday! I'd really like something from Chrono Trigger also, but not a HD-2D remake for god's sake. I feel those are being overused and are frankly kinda lazy. A strong online service and infrastructure would be really nice as well! Though I dunno if Nintendo is really capable of that.
@gcunit personally I'm not dismissive of the idea, but every time I get to play one of those, even Slay the Spire, I just get bored and move on really quickly. So I end up avoiding all deck builders and I'm probably missing out on a lot of cool games
Honestly, these games have always sucked, I can't at all understand all the hype about it when the first one came out. Only thing worse than Life is Strange was Gone Home, probably
Wait, didn't this come out some time ago? Ohhh, it was Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus, wasn't it? The games look almost the same and both are metroidvanias, lol. Is this one easier? I rage quit Bo.
@Rentaro yeah, I was talking about it with a friend who lives on the Netherlands. I get the need for those regulations, but it still feels very frustrating for the game to not be available there
No way in hell SMB3 is better than any of those coming right behind it. I find it really hard to replay, tbh, as the physics are so clunky. SMW is such an upgrade that I can't really go back, when talking about Mario 2D platformers.
@Bunkerneath not really. The pros and cons are somewhat "weighted", as I gather it, so if a single pro is more important than, say, three cons, the scales still tip in favor of a slightly better rating
Whereas I've played only one game in only one board, I'm reluctant to say it's the best. It seemed to me only another entry in the series. But I'll keep playing and reach my verdict.
hey guys, what was the name of that other mech title, I think from the Wii era, which kinda looked like this one? Ok, sorry for not being more specific, but I really can't remember more than that, just that I used to play it a lot. It wasn't a Gundam title, tho

Re: Nintendo Is Discontinuing Gold Points, One Of The Switch's Best Incentives
@axelhander they are never your friend, but they can at least try to be a little more consumer-friendly. Nintendo isn't. At all.

Anything similar but better on the Switch (with couch co-op)?
Re: Nintendo Will "Likely" Price The Switch 2 At $399, Says Analyst
@Jack_Goetz and 4500 reais here in Brazil!
Re: Poll: Is It Finally Time For Castlevania To Rise Again?
@anoyonmus play the ones already in the collections the Switch has, they're (mostly) all amazing
Re: Poll: Is It Finally Time For Castlevania To Rise Again?
bah, "rumor" from a "reliable source". Yeah, right. I hate these insiders, fr

Doesn't it absolutely suck on the Switch, tho?
Re: Reaction: Nintendo Pins Hopes On Familiar Fun With Switch 2
@sanderev ugh, I usually buy Nintendo consoles at launch, but for, I dunno, five thousand bucks over here, I'm definitely not going to be able to

@sanderev you're thinking around 400? Oof, I'd see this easily becoming something around 4500 reais here in Brazil
Re: Reaction: Nintendo Pins Hopes On Familiar Fun With Switch 2
@Medic_alert sadly, I'm wholly with you

I'm so glad Nintendo is keeping up with their word of full support for us here in Brazil!

Re: Switch 2: Hardware Gallery - Take A Closer Look At Nintendo's Lovely New Switch
@Dom_31 sadly we're probably not getting a new Xeno series game any time soon, since the X port hasn't even launched yet
Re: Switch 2: Hardware Gallery - Take A Closer Look At Nintendo's Lovely New Switch
Really minor and inconsequential criticism, but I kinda hate this "salmon" color they went with. Hopefully there's more colors avaliable even at launch

@LEGEND_MARIOID because that's not what Nintendo has always done and, therefore, is really disappointing

Re: Mini Review: Pine: A Story Of Loss (Switch) - An Evocative But Oddly Anti-Immersive Tale
Oh no, I already live a miserable life, don't need to play a game about it
Re: Review: Fairy Tail 2 (Switch) - Hurt By Its Breakneck Pace, But Still A Step Up
On a different note, can someone tell me if Eiyuden has been fixed on the Switch or if they just up and abandoned it completely?
Re: Review: Fairy Tail 2 (Switch) - Hurt By Its Breakneck Pace, But Still A Step Up
I'd probably play this....if it weren't a Fairy Tail IP. Seriously, that show is just SO BAD.

Happy to see it's good, but man, am I bummed by this artstyle. It makes me 70% less wanting to play the game
Re: Hands On: 'Royalty Free For All' Looks To Smash It With A Cosy Fighting Format & Timeless Roster
@Lightsiyd oh, ok, sorry for misinterpreting. I also prefer co-op focused games, mainly to play with my gf

@Lightsiyd that's kinda sad

Re: Review: Castlevania Dominus Collection (Switch) - The Strongest Konami Compilation Yet

I can't wait to play this. These games are so damn good and were a great part of my youth.
