@Bermanator good reply and obviously one I disagree with from a standpoint perspective.
Being great in business, and artistically, will by very definition set you apart from most people.
He's stringent, he's tough, he's an asshole maybe - but only with purpose. Most people are just consumers.
Maybe you're not likely to like him as a person. Eccentricity does that. They seem offensive, arrogant, inconsiderate. Just, to be honest, that only makes me think you've assessed him from a distance and no matter how you or I will spin it, we haven't met him and do not know anything about how his life and choices panned out for him.
And every time I read about someone like that, I'd be happy to learn and process from them whatever they were able to bring out of their life experiences.
@Bermanator are people a higher commodity than ideas?
Honestly, there's a lot of people out there with similar ideas, nurtured by one another and whichever is in abundance will be the one cut for excessive representation.
Harsh for people, but it's kinda market dynamics. Myamoto wouldn't be the legend he is today without having a feel for that.
This is a gambling mechanic, plain and simple. As such I actually think it is unethical to couple it with entertainment that is designed to direct attention to shape experiences and then package it as interaction.
I know not everyone might agree with that opinion and that's fair. However, as long as a purchase with anything of value is not clearly coupled with the product that you'll get for it, I don't think we should risk that addictive behavior to touch minors, still in the process of learning how to navigate impulses.
A warning, label, indicator... It seems like it's not enough. At least, in my perception...
I understand the quality and astral of this game, yet... it was such cheap gameplay design. Grinds to bosses, bosses that you defeat only to have no indication that they'll suddenly return to full health... Just a bit lame.
I finished it on Wii u yet will still buy it. It was great then, and look forward to running through it with my more modern understanding of games now.
@Chris55 I'm a digital only buyer as well. There's a benefit of not being able to lose or break your game (useful with the kids around) and of course the convenience, always having your games around instantly.
I am baffled at the quality of sales in the ps store versus the lack of sales in the nintendo world as well. To be honest, that is the only downside that I run into personally.
This ain't wonderful 101. This is an actual gaming culture name.
Tell Nintendo to put that money there, see what happens.
I think part 2 and part 3 will remain exclusives unless Nintendo's part in financing it was lower than we anticipated. I think Nintendo has a big stake in it though.
Both are great games, for vastly different reasons. I'm contemplating restarting my Zelda adventure sometime later this year, but definitely not stopping fortnite - still a lot of fun.
He's probably right though, if people find themselves too attached to one, the other is a perfectly contrasting experience.
@redd214 well I'm the same, my kids can't spend anything without me involved - but is it on by default? If you register your fifa game or anything, does it allow any non tech savvy parent to manage this well? Again, my personal setup is fine, I am curious about this case.
@SBandy that's a good point as well. Personally, there's ethics on both ends. Personal responsibility to learn and properly deal with this, and corporate accountability to design this ethically enough. I'm not binary in the either/or kind of way, it just often sounds like "I have no impulse control or personal accountability! And it's all your fault!"
Then again, there's definite ways to design with, for and against unhealthy behaviour, so it's not all that...
I'm of the opinion that any game that has money spending mechanics in it should have that part locked off under parental controls by default, so kids don't bankrupt themselves or their parents without the explicit approval of their parents.
I'm not against in game purchases. But a spend should guarantee itself against a product. To me the mechanic in this case is gambling and it should be considered and treated as such.
As much as I play my switch vs my ps4, and as much more as I want to play some of the ps4 games I have left... I'm seriously considering picking up the new ps5.
Some of the games I've played, like horizon, are just glorious. I like the system.
Nintendo is still my main, so if I must choose only one, I'm all nintendo - yet if an extra system is an option, ps5 will be in the household sooner rather than later.
I would use it a lot. The main reason I can't play all the ps4 games is access to the tv set during the day - I play some of them with remote play already on my Macs at home. Would be awesome to have it more portable.
One look at this picture says: "sleek suit dude is ready and waiting to take over as ceo and launch the switch ps6 hybrid that dooms Nintendo and sells its shares at 900 a pop while laughing at the company vaporizing into franchising its most valuable assets."
I remember the rumors around the tigra chipset back then. One of the benefits? It has a smart scaling system... Lower power, lower output - but still working great, kind of.
I can see Nintendo making a new model every two to three years, only slowly phasing out older generations.
Loved warframe, insane how much quality free gaming there is... Fortnite is where it's at for me though. Very good game, lively, lots of new stuff and deep gameplay.
I'll play dauntless soon as well, though monster Hunter world has iceborne content waiting for me.
If the ps4 had the motion controls in fortnite, I think I would switch that game to the ps4. Perhaps I'll do the same on dauntless...
@JR150 that's such a strange idea. If I was Nintendo, I'd release another mario odyssey next month and the new pikmin after. Zelda should be done in three.
My son worked hard to earn his switch lite. I gave him jobs to do over the past few months so he could earn some extra money.
It wasn't about his productivity or the amount of chores or anything - hell, he's eight years old - but it helps in making him realise that working can get him results he wants, and I can reward him adequately, instead of poorly, for earning cash he wants so he could afford his own.
Kids gravitate towards the switch. Enable them to get it, it's both joy and lesson.

Love this game.

@Judgedean same on my ps4. Warzone is very well designed.
Re: Gallery: Huge Batch Of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition Screenshots Show Characters And Environments
I might pick this up again to give it a run through... Would it help to release a remake of X perhaps?
I'd buy that one for the soundtrack alone...
Re: Community: Tried Super Mario Maker 2's World Maker Yet? Share Your Codes Here
This game with world maker is now a complete concept. I'll be giving this one to my son as well, this is infinite mario.
If they make the fun ones findable, by improving their ux, it'll be forever great.

Re: Random: Pokémon Gold And Silver Recreated In Animal Crossing: New Horizons Is Absolutely Mindblowing
@RPGamer hey, funny you should notice.
I understand the choice from a mod perspective, though I'd disagree. It was intended as positively controversial.
Understandable, but disagreed, from my perspective.
Re: Nintendo Is The Next Disney+, Says Activist Investor Which Now Has A $1.1 Billion Stake
I'll buy the new ps5 to allow subscribing to my Nintendo catalogue.
Oh wait, the switch sells more... well...
There are always two sides to the same coin I guess.
Re: Fans And Analysts Ponder The Eternal Question: Can Nintendo Survive Without Shigeru Miyamoto?

Re: Hideki Kamiya Knows People Are Worried About Bayonetta 3, Says Development Is Going "Very Smoothly"
This is why I like Nintendo's habit of only talking about the games that you can play in the next 6 months.
Like they did with metroid 4 and pikmin.
Re: Talking Point: What We Expect From The First Nintendo Direct Of 2020
I only want pikmin 4.
That's all. Pikmin 4.

Fortnite is a great game. People hate on it with an irrational hate. It's okay to not like it at all, like other stuff...
But it's deserving of the success. The gameplay is incredibly deep, the variety is high and no two matches are ever the same.
Really like it, tbh.
