If you're in the mood for some mountain biking fun on the Switch, then you're going to want to check out Lonely Mountains: Downhill when it bunny hops onto Nintendo's portable powerhouse in May. It was the winner of ‘Best Indie Game’ at the German Developer Awards and was nominated for ‘Excellence in Design’ at the 2020 IGF Awards, so it goes without saying that this is a rather lovely game.
Here's some info from the press release to get you up to speed:
Ride any way you like – reckless and fast or careful and slow - and feel the thrill while progressing downhill. Lonely Mountains: Downhill is a mountain biking game where it’s just you and your bike with the objective of successfully getting downhill. There are challenges to complete which unlock new trails and mountains, and leaderboards for those who want to master the mountainous terrain and reach the base with the fastest time possible. Players can also take their time and explore the mountains to find hidden rest areas.
Lonely Mountains: Downhill features sixteen trails to master located across four different mountains. There are five additional bikes available which can be fully customized to fit the player’s personality. Train your skills day and night, improve your place on the leaderboards and ultimately compete with the best riders in the world in the risky Free Ride mode. Get ready for the most relaxing or intense ride of your life – the mountain is yours to conquer.
Lonely Mountains: Downhill launches on the Switch eShop for $19.99 / €19.99 on 7th May. Are you going to be checking this one out?

I played this on my PC, it's a really fun game - suits the Switch really well.
I have this on Xbox Game Pass, it's fantastic! Really fun and really chill.
Played this on Steam, it’s great.
Hmmm...
It gives me silly fun vibes like Good Job!
I've watched a bit of this and it looked really fun. Definitely keen on picking it up on Switch.
Until Paperboy makes a comeback...
I played this on Game Pass and then bought on PS4 as I didn't know when it was coming out on Switch but should have waited...will just have to get it on Switch aswell. Excellent game
Day one! Never knew about this game until this write up.
I enjoy trying to climb a leaderboard in racing games. I prefer it to competing directly with other racers. It's more chill. I have enough challenges in my life that I don't need to be in constant fear of a blue shell.
Absolutely fantastic news~!!

I... I like jumping.
If my avatar isn't enough of a hint, I'll be looking into this game.
@ROAM85 Yeah, it's weird neither the 3DS or Switch have Paperboy. I literally was looking today.
Fantastic! The idea is not new but this developer gets it. It's ALL IN THE EXECUTION NOT THE CONCEPT.
This game is GREAT!!! Double dip for me👍
Looks lovely will probably pick it up:)
Loved this on Xbox. Think it will be great on Switch and I’m in again if it runs okay.
Awesome. I picked this up on GamePass and can't wait to play it on the Switch as long as the performance is good.
Looks great... except that, to me, it's crying out for a race mode. Just all a bit too lonely with one rider on the screen and no other people or animals, but if I was racing against 7-11 CPU riders it would really appeal.
YES!
Finally!
Been waiting for this announcement for months now!
This game looks so much fun!
Fantastic little game. Will grab again on sale. Very pretty too.
this looks great! I had a biking game for 3ds that was really cool. I can't remember what it was called though.
This game is an absolute joy as you cycle through a gorgeous low-poly landscape with ASMR-like atmospheric sound effects that induce a zen-like trance until you hurl your controller through the television set in rage because it gets heinously f$&@$ng difficult!
Damn it. Another game I have to have...I haven't owned this many games in years. My wallet been like WTF.
this game is so fun, love the lone ride
Oh this game looks fun, i'll be taking a look at that.
Will get when on sale
