Well, the rumours were true. South Park: The Fractured But Whole really is coming to Nintendo Switch and it's bringing the full NSFW turn-based RPG experience on 24th April. Not only that, the over-the-top sequel will also come supported with both of the current DLC packs - Danger Pack: DLC 1 and From Dusk Til Casa Bonita: DLC Pack 2 - as part of a Season Pass. Yes, season passes are here to stay.
Both of those DLC packs will be available from launch, with the Nintendo Switch version getting the third DLC pack this year as well. The superhero-aping sequel to South Park: The Stick Of Truth launched in October last year, so the Switch port hasn't taken that long to come to fruition.
Will you be picking it up next month? We're certainly ready to return to Colorado...

Worst kept secret ever!
(Well maybe second worst, after Mario + Rabbids.)
Watch_Dogs and Watch_Dogs 2 for Switch now, please.
Who's a good boy, Ubisoft?

Not that interested really.
Assuming that they aren't porting the first game to Switch, then the least they could have done is include the DLC content on cartridge. :
Maybe I'm too optimistic, but all these ports seem to signal that developers were sleeping on the Switch but are now trying to cash in while their brand new games are still in development.
Not for me as I've just finished this on Xbox but for those that haven't it's a great game, though not quite as good as the first
I'd been holding off on this one on PS4 just because there was so much else to play on Switch... Glad I waited now! Day one! Loved Stick Of Truth
I don't like the term "port" for these kind of games, they've been released on PS4 and X1 few months ago, they're not really ports, it's nice to be able to play games other systems have too !
@sillygostly only the first DLC pack has released elsewhere so far, so it's a bit unrealistic to expect them to include that and the second as yet unreleased dlc
So are the first two dlcs free with the game or do you have to pay for them ?
@therealgamer It’s a current gen game you idiot = multiplatform, not a port.
South Park on Nintendo. Are we in the N64 era again?
@therealgamer If the game is less then a year old I wouldn't consider it a port just like Wolfenstein 2. Both those games started development before the Switch was a thing so them coming late couldn't be helped. Hopefully these games come day one now that the Switch is here to stay.
Portaloo.
South Park: The Fractured Port Whole.
South Park was funny when I was a middle school student. As an adult, aside from the satire of the news, I find it crude. I also have bad memories of 24/7 comedy central from a college roommate...
Day 1 for me
@therealgamer I mean by that logic every game that’s multi platform is a port, and Switch needs multi platform titles desperately. It’s quite new still and hasn’t even had all the DLC yet so Switch owners will possibly get content at the same time as everyone else. I don’t see that as bad, especially considering not everyone has multiple consoles.
An okay announcement for those who haven't played it I guess. They shoulda called this console the Nintendo Porthole or Porticulis or something.
@Aven you'll have to buy them
HELP ME MY WALLET
So glad I waited.
So the Switch Version won’t get the Stick of Truth, which the other versions got for free within the package?
@Prof_Yoshtonics Bye bye troll. "hits ignore"
I’m interested but I might wait for a sale
Glad this crash and Okami HD were announced and the switch has more third party support from some of the larger publishers. Hope they sell well enough for continued releases
Some of you are being ridiculously unrealistic! It isn’t a port if it’s being released a few months after launch! It’s a multi platform title, and it’s a good one! Some of you whine about indie titles, and then whine when you get AAA titles (both South Park games sold well, were well reviewed, etc.).
This isn’t the PS2/GC era. Multi platform developers rarely release exclusive titles! Give Ubisoft credit for Mario and Rabbids!
It’s a big third party title! On Switch! This is what you wanted! If you’re not interested in the game, it’s all good, but don’t bemoan the very thing that you’ve been asking for!
It does my head in all those complaining about multi-platform releases and shouting port, boo-hoo, port. Its almost like some people are more concerned about having games on the the switch others can not play rather than looking at what is available for them to enjoy on the switch.
Nice that it's coming, but it never really interested me that much.
@BarFooToo That's probably it. A lot of Nintendo fans just seem to want the usual Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Smash, etc. same old same old. I'm glad Nintendo is getting the nod from third parties again, they really need this. Nintendo games are amazing, but clearly they can't release enough of them to sustain momentum, we need good third party games like this to fill in the gaps.
@BarFooToo
And it’s crazy because they’re getting plenty of first party exclusives, and even a few third party exclusives (No More Heroes, Octopath) to boot!
For myself, I would much rather play Dark Souls than Smash Brothers. It’s nothing against Smash Brothers, but I’m a huge fan of Dark Souls who is so excited to have a portable copy of it. Games like South Park, Doom, Wolfenstein, Crash, etc. are exciting because they’re current generation titles, done well, and it tells me that third parties are paying attention. Maybe I’m missing something but, as a multi platform owner, I swear that this sort of thing is unique to Nintendo. I don’t run into too many PS4/Xbox One owners who complain about multiplatform releases!
@MattFox Thank god. Now you can go play that Sushi game with Anti-Matter. And all of those other "cute" little puppy girly games. You were probably upset they didn't announce a Nintendogs Special edition.
Not my cup of tea, but happy for those that wanted this. Now go buy it ya'll so ubi will port more stuff!
Excellent. Haven't got round to this other formats so I'll get it on Switch for portability.
You really can't please some people. It's great to see this and other great third party titles come to Switch. I, for one, don't have time to sit tethered to a specific television, so I'm happy I don't have to miss out on every great third party game. Switch needs this.
Finally seeing Ubisoft and Capcom start stepping it up.
Nicely done. This is proof enough they believe their other titles can sell on the system. I would expect more in the coming year.
@BanjoPickles
That's because many of those fans are actually mature adults, and actually come online to talk about games they want to play rather than fanboy around the net looking for ammo to slap in the complainometer.
Not to say there aren't some mature Nintendo gamers because a large portion of this Fanbase is actually very mature adults. And generally speaking I'd say at least half of the N fanbase are cool as heck, and just come to talk about games and actually care about games and are actually excited for games they want to play, but that other half... hooo boy. Brace yourself.
@Prof_Yoshtonics hey troll, how about you stop shaming people about their gaming tastes?
@JaxonH
Absolutely! I’m excited for this year! I’m on my second playthrough of Zelda, and then I’ll be playing Labo with my daughter next month, then South Park, Dark Souls, Octopath.....I’m more worried about time than money! I haven’t seen this level of quality support on a Nintendo platform since the SNES days!
More games is never a bad thing!
@Prof_Yoshtonics
And what’s wrong with the Sushi game? It looks fun. The kind of game that I can play with my four year old daughter when I can’t play Wolfenstein, Dark Souls, or South Park.
If it’s a well made, quality game, then there is nothing wrong with it.
Day one for me! yeees finaly we are geting respect.
Good lord, if this game plus doom, and some cod get good sales, I belive that Nintendo will start drowning in money again. Lets hope.
This brought tears to my eyes.
For such a long time I "fought" for this to come to the Wii U/Switch.
South Park belongs on Nintendo machines.
Too bad I already gave up and purchased it on PC LOL.
@Prof_Yoshtonics
You sound like the anti anti-matter. LoL!
I have heard great things about this game. I will get this for sure.
A message for all you whining little kids bellyaching about ports - go hang out on the PS4 or Xbox one sites if you are not happy with the Switch and it's releases.
any news if the first game comes along with it?
Got it on PC recently along with the Stick of Truth for $30. I possilby would have waited for the Switch version but oh well, no biggie. Glad to see it's coming, though. I only played a bit but it's a fantastic game so far, battle system is a bit like Paper Mario and the humor, while not everyone's cup of tea, is still pretty good in my opinion.
I’ll pass since I have it on PS4. Pretty good game though.
I laughed out loud both times the Nintendo guy said the name of this game. Yes, I’m very immature.
No, I have zero interest in this game.
Came back to commenting NintendoLife (it's been a busy month, y'all) just for this Direct.
What a time to be alive. That's all I have to say.
And I laughed at both the announcer saying the game's title, and at the unnameable superhero persona Cartman goes by striking Raccoon Mario's trademark SMB3 pose.
@gortsi Hey homes. I was put on blast first for expressing my opinion. You don't have too comment. If you disagree skim by and move along. Thanks for the positive feedback! 😀
@mikeatron85 Relax with the name calling please, he wasn't insulting to you. It's not a same day launch, the game will be 6 months old when it releases next month on Switch.
I hope they're at least including the first 2 DLC packs for free, considering we all know they're going to charge $60 for this despite it being late. You can now buy the game on other platforms for about half price.
This and Crash were my most hoped for ports (well, and Dragon Ball FighterZ which I'm 100% confident will come to Switch either late this year or early next year) so I'm beyond excited!!!!
Day 1 purchase for me!
I enjoyed the parts where it stated that it wasn't final game footage. I thought that was neat as the game is coming out in less than seven weeks. Maybe this is normal. I'm not too sure.
I'm moreso surprised The Stick of Truth is not included in the Fractured but Whole package
@PokeMario thats exactly what happened, everyone is making the Switch now #NintendoisWinning
Very excited I am a huge fan of the show and have yet to plan an RPG now that it is on a Nintendo console I'm all In
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Boohoo 😂 Still not a port, still makes him (or her) an idiot.
The only thing I wanted that got announced... outside of SMASH, of course.
I literally do not understand what people's problems with ports are. You whined and moaned when the Wii U had no third party support. Now the Switch has third party support and you're whining and moaning about it. Can Nintendo ever win? Are you all actually Nintendo fans or just loud trolls?
@Prof_Yoshtonics Disgusting comment - please go away.
Don't care about people's complain all I care is that I will be having a blast once I get this.
I actually held off on picking this one up on PS4, glad I did (although I'll be paying more now) but it's good news. Hopefully this trend of AAA games being ported means that "new games" in development will be released alongside switch
Anyone feel surprised they announced such a adult title in the direct ?
@Prof_Yoshtonics lol porthole. I'm actually glad with the ports. I prefer handheld and that's why I haven't invested so much in my PS4/Xbox one as much as I could have.
lol. Porthole
'Te tuuk rrrrrr tjunbbsss!'
Not my type of game.
I've aligned my life, your either a
Simpsons or South park = Simpsons
Pepsi or cola = pepsi
Mario or sonic = mario
@Lord I’m with you on those 3 too haha
I hope this is not a cr*p port. No one will play this game in public, portability is pointless for this game.
@sillygostly If that happened, THATS AN INSTANT BUY DAY ONE!!!! Love both Watch_Dogs 1 & Watch_Dogs 2! Those games are the rare few that I can play over and over again and not be bored with it after beating it. So good!
@TheLobster EXACTLY!!!!
@Darlinfan
Ha, ok. Yes, I have this game on the Xbone, with Stick, so I was just curious. Oh well, still a nice addition to the Switch Library.
@WindWakerLink : I hate the story/characters but the gameplay was brilliantly done IMO (and I've never been a fan of stealth type games until the first game on Wii U came along).
And as much as I dislike online gaming, hacking and being hacked was exhilaratingly fun and I love how seamlessly integrated it was into the main campaign.
Switch is usually very bad as a portable device for big games.. Xenoblade 2 for example looks very horrible when played as prtable. However, cartoony games like South Park may just work
