And it's a pokemon direct! Disappointment galore! I sure hope they plan a regular direct with more of what this article mentions sooner than later. There's a big question mark on what's coming this year at this point from nintendo themselves.
This is about as disappointing as it can get, we need a regular direct with plans for the year. I've already put down Pokemon Shield at this point (lack of a bigger pokedex available definitely didn't help but shorten the experience).
I decided to pull the trigger on this, but only because i'm using free gift cards I got at christmas to pay for it. It sounds like the game has a very polarizing fan base either people love it or hate it. I don't like the whole censorship thing, but I've heard it's worth looking past that to play. Guess it's easiest to make up my own mind once I get into it.
@ShadowSmile I'm a Nintendo and playstation guy, but I don't think you can ignore all those studios that Microsoft has bought up. There's a good chance they are going to have a very strong first party line up, and also come in with the stronger system this time. I don't know if it's going to be enough to dethrone Sony, but I've been paying attention to see what happens there. To me I'm less about brand, and more about who has the best titles so i while I've never bought an xbox i'm still keeping an eye on what they might be making, and think that next gen is going to be a lot closer with xbox potentially pulling back ahead especially since I feel like games pass is way better than PS plus which I haven't had PS plus in years.
Yeah I don't agree it was a step forward, besides the introduction of SNES titles (which at the same time they decided to announce that there would not be a schedule of when to even expect games anymore which almost discounts the whole time). They need to work on the infrastructure, there is so much more they could do they should reinvest the money going into it to help make it better. Only reason I have it is due to the prime deal, and don't plan to renew without some stuff being ironed out and definitely would like to see more of a return to a schedule of games (it's not like there isn't a library out there to use).
I rarely use the joycon, but they do have drift. Hopefully by the time they release some colors i'm really interested in getting maybe just maybe they'll have fixed the drift issue, but it sure seems to not be getting fixed quickly.
I'd just love to see a Xenogears remaster or Remake, that game was great even with it's shortcomings, if they were allowed to actually flesh out the rest of what they wanted from that game it would be awesome.
@Desrever Was also thinking about grabbing that, but man my backlog is nasty right now lol. Nice thing about it is if I get it those are nice quick experiences you can just hop into for a bit.
Really enjoyed Darksiders picked it up on black friday and already 100% the normal game, probably won't play apocolyptic mode just because i'm generally not that interested in replaying games on harder difficulties. I do plan to pick up Darksiders 2 at some point and finally play through it as well, but it's going to have to wait.
Never played the games or read the books, though of course I've heard of Geralt. I eventually want to play the Witcher 3 and this actually has me a bit more interested. I really enjoyed the first 8 episodes, and can't wait for more.
Would love to see the trilogy released, but alas it lives on my SNES classic due to certain means along with robotrek (I own 3/4 of those games and if I had lived in Europe I definitely would have owned physically Terranigma as well).
Everything nowadays for the most part is inspired by other games of the past, I don't think you should judge a game as a rip off until it comes out. If you play the game and it hits the same exact beats then yes at that point call it a rip off.
Yeah as figured there has been no more support for these things besides maybe the VR having something here and there. Nintendo loves to do random stuff like this and not support it fully enough.
I just really don't like this character art style, it's one of the reasons I had a lot of troubles getting into Bravely default when I picked it up. I hardly ended up playing much of it even though I'm a big RPG fan. I can dig the background art style, but man I just don't like that character art.
This was the first Fire Emblem game I fully played through, apparently just had the right thing I wanted out of a Fire Emblem game at this moment. I really enjoyed it overall and put quite a bit of hours into it.
@Kdman If the game of the year was pre-determined and not voted on then it would have went to Death Stranding because Jeff Keeley is best buddies with Kojima and was in the game. I was surprised at a lot of the reward winners not being what I expected which was good though.
I don't mind the look of this, but man the name is terrible. It's always sad how the project names are almost always better than the final name for the counsel.
I enjoyed Payday 2 on the PC, but just didn't think i'd want to even play that game without keyboard and mouse, and especially not without having some friends to play it with. The game isn't as fun solo it's definitely best played with friends, which not as many of my friends have switch even. It is still pretty disappointing though when developers don't give proper love to all versions of their product, especially since from what I had heard this one started out not very good right out of the box when it launched on switch.
Too much good non indy stuff that I rarely have time for indy stuff lately. I do hope we get some interesting stuff at the game awards at least that is non indy.
I love those red Joycons, one of these days i'll buy some new joy cons since mine are a drifting a bit and I do want some different colored ones, but I just don't use them enough to warrant it with how expensive it is for a set of joy cons.
I still haven't gotten around to playing FEW I bought yet, and Persona 5 Scramble also may hit the same genre a bit, so not sure if this comes over if i'll get it anytime soon.
@BenAV I've never hated any of the entries, I'd say the Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon games are probably my least favorite since it really didn't add much and was even more lazy.
I hear this is a good series, but haven't checked out the others. Hopefully they'll work out any issues with the multiple publishers/Developers for the other entries and maybe we can see the rest show up. One of these days I may try out the series.
While Pokemon Sword isn't the worst game in the series as @BenAV suggested it's also not the best as @HammerKirby @bahooney @Rodan2000 may be suggesting. I rate it about a 7/10 it's another mediocre entry in the series that could have been great if they hadn't been so lazy in certain design decisions for the game. It definitely had a lot of quality of life changes I liked, and I enjoyed the Wild Area, but I feel the graphics were not done well for the system it's running on and cutting of the dex did not feel neccesary based on that. Additionally I think the game really could have used voice work at this point (personal opinion there), and the last couple of gyms especially felt like they rushed them as they were not as good as the others. Of course this is just my opinion, and while it stinks it will sell well either way I do hope they consider some of the complaints when they go to make the next game in the series. It is definitely a great thing for the system though as I want to continue to see more and more support as the install base continues to grow.
I only have Nintendo online service because it was free with my Amazon Prime/Twitch Prime. If it hadn't been for that deal I would not be paying for it. I have a better line up on my SNES and NES classic at this point, and hardly use online games.
I've heard this is not a good game, and really no interest in it in anyway it just doesn't look very fun even. I don't have much interest in mobile designed games though for switch.
Same capcom ways, just look at the Megaman series especially the original megaman collection those games were tiny and yet they still pushed them to get part of it and download the other part. If I get anything might be the 3rd one on a sale digitally.
I saw darksiders remastered is 20 bucks now on amazon this week starting yesterday for physical so might pick it up, but so far i'm not super interested in what's out there. However part of my problem is I've already purchased a lot of the games I want anyways.
I really want the metroid prime trilogy and hopefully find a way to play some of those without a wii mote finally. Also I really think they shouldn't be touching Super Metroid I think it's great as it is and you could probably do other games instead.
This should have been the trilogy right off the bat instead of this trickle at 20 bucks each, I'm pretty sure after all 3 are in the e-shop for a little bit they'll do the trilogy on physical i bet, but then still charge 60 bucks for it when it's cheaper on the other consoles.
@SwitchForce I got mine less than an hour into playing on route 2 i believe it was. Minccino was about 20 hours in out in the wilds, neither of them I was shiny hunting for, and were just random shiny's. Besides those 2 i haven't seen anymore in the wild, both of those ended up being square shiny's and the breed sobble was stars.
