Re: Pokémon Direct To Air Thursday, 9th January

This is about as disappointing as it can get, we need a regular direct with plans for the year. I've already put down Pokemon Shield at this point (lack of a bigger pokedex available definitely didn't help but shorten the experience).

@ShadowSmile I'm a Nintendo and playstation guy, but I don't think you can ignore all those studios that Microsoft has bought up. There's a good chance they are going to have a very strong first party line up, and also come in with the stronger system this time. I don't know if it's going to be enough to dethrone Sony, but I've been paying attention to see what happens there. To me I'm less about brand, and more about who has the best titles so i while I've never bought an xbox i'm still keeping an eye on what they might be making, and think that next gen is going to be a lot closer with xbox potentially pulling back ahead especially since I feel like games pass is way better than PS plus which I haven't had PS plus in years.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Switch Online Took A Step Forward In 2019, But It's Not There Yet

Yeah I don't agree it was a step forward, besides the introduction of SNES titles (which at the same time they decided to announce that there would not be a schedule of when to even expect games anymore which almost discounts the whole time). They need to work on the infrastructure, there is so much more they could do they should reinvest the money going into it to help make it better. Only reason I have it is due to the prime deal, and don't plan to renew without some stuff being ironed out and definitely would like to see more of a return to a schedule of games (it's not like there isn't a library out there to use).

Re: The Game Awards GOTY Is Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

@Kdman If the game of the year was pre-determined and not voted on then it would have went to Death Stranding because Jeff Keeley is best buddies with Kojima and was in the game. I was surprised at a lot of the reward winners not being what I expected which was good though.

Re: PAYDAY 2 On Switch "Very Unlikely" To Receive Any Of The New Updates

I enjoyed Payday 2 on the PC, but just didn't think i'd want to even play that game without keyboard and mouse, and especially not without having some friends to play it with. The game isn't as fun solo it's definitely best played with friends, which not as many of my friends have switch even. It is still pretty disappointing though when developers don't give proper love to all versions of their product, especially since from what I had heard this one started out not very good right out of the box when it launched on switch.

Re: Japanese Charts: Pokémon Sword And Shield Break 2 Million Sales, Switch Sales Rise

While Pokemon Sword isn't the worst game in the series as @BenAV suggested it's also not the best as @HammerKirby @bahooney @Rodan2000 may be suggesting. I rate it about a 7/10 it's another mediocre entry in the series that could have been great if they hadn't been so lazy in certain design decisions for the game. It definitely had a lot of quality of life changes I liked, and I enjoyed the Wild Area, but I feel the graphics were not done well for the system it's running on and cutting of the dex did not feel neccesary based on that. Additionally I think the game really could have used voice work at this point (personal opinion there), and the last couple of gyms especially felt like they rushed them as they were not as good as the others. Of course this is just my opinion, and while it stinks it will sell well either way I do hope they consider some of the complaints when they go to make the next game in the series. It is definitely a great thing for the system though as I want to continue to see more and more support as the install base continues to grow.
