Re: Talking Point: The Nintendo 3DS, A System That Still Has a Role to Play

@Capt_N I think you are 100% on. In this case I would love for the 3ds to phase out, but the problem is money. Parents will still be buying their kids the budget friendly 3ds. I dont know, its a strange situation. Nintendo should just make a vita thats pretty much a Switch but without all the expensive rumble and joycons. Then marketing what games are compatible might be an issue. But id take a dumbed down Switch if it was truly pocket portable. I mean you cant even table top mode with while charging without a cradle. How portable is that?

@bluedogrulez I agree. You can throw your 3ds in your pocket, pop it out and play. And it appears as yesterdays tech. Pulling out a modern and slightly larger switch is far more eye catching and brings attention to yourself and possible theft. There will be a few, but must people are not going to pull out a switch on a subway or in other public places, let alone carry it around. The Switch is portable in the sense of what I like to call "event portable." Portable enough for events, going to your friends house, or to bring to a comfortable location, not so much having on you at all times for those short moments to play.

At least in the states, I will be really surprised if people will start bringing their Switch out instead of their 3ds. That and a majority of those with a 3ds out and about are kids who have the system purchased for them by their family. I've heard a lot of family conversations about getting the kids a portable gaming device, and I doubt most parents are just going to shell out the cash when there is a cheaper option. So the 3ds might die out, but i doubt it will be mostly because of the Switch.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Briefly Addresses Topic Of Carrying Over Online Purchases To Switch

If I cant transfer or get a discount with smash or Mario Kart, I'm just going to get the Switch much later. I prefer Nintendo over Sony, but I'll just ride out on my ps4 for the rest of the year. Sony has proved to me that with some patience you can get all kinds of steals on their online store.

With My Nintendo disappointment, slow virtual console releases, cross-buys still non-existent, not the best sales, recent so-so releases.... I think I am going to give Nintendo purchases a rest for awhile.

Re: Here Are Your New My Nintendo Rewards

Wow, I dont generally complain about free stuff, but i didnt realize our coins expire. I just had 530 silver coins go down the drain. And you guys in Europe really got the short end. This seems more like a sales scheme than real rewards.... I wonder if we can give feedback on the program. I miss writing reviews on club nintendo, it felt like you were earning your points

Re: We Almost Got A Pokémon And Fire Emblem Crossover Game

@SamirMalik Yeah i played and beat SMT4, but i think what I dont like about #fe is that for me it was more about finding the attack with a green "!" regardless of enemy weakness. In SMT4 you might have to decide if a super strong attack is better than pinpointing enemy weakness. #fe just seemed like looking for the "!" and mashing the A button. Granted I only finished about 50% of #fe, and I could have been playing it wrong to begin with, but it wasnt fun for me. :/

I just came here to read the bitter people's posts haha. Id love to see you guys that tend to cry more aggressively have an actually talk with a Nintendo business man like you do on here. Id pay all my coins to see that. (of course im not talking about us posters that know how to express ourselves without looking like little brats)

Re: We Almost Got A Pokémon And Fire Emblem Crossover Game

#FE and Persona Q have made me a little weary of crossovers. Persona/SMT and Fire Emblem were all about finding a working strategy in battle and #FE seemed all about finding the attack marked with a "!" #FE took out all the things liked in each franchise. I know I'm just a prick about games but I want the things i already enjoyed and not an overload of crossovers. Crossovers are fine if you like them but to me I feel like a majority of them are like suicide fountain drinks you made as a kid. They sort of work but the idea is cooler than the actual product.

Re: Italian Bishop Likens Pokémon GO To Nazism, Claims It Turns Players Into "Walking Dead"

Haha i am not a pokemon go fan, but I love how it bothers people so much. Let people do what they want, cause they will anyway. I don't try to talk people out of religion, or eating unhealthy food, or partaking in activities that are not "productive" cause people do what they want anyway. Sure call out the people that are actually cause harm others by playing, but as a whole just stop being intimidated by trends.
