Love the Steamworld Heist 2 logo using an anchor with the Roman numerals, that’s awesome. I just got the original and have been really enjoying it, now I’m excited for the sequel!
it 100% deserves it, it and castlevania basically launched an entire genre. although, i would have to agree that Super would also be understandable, although the original makes more sense because its, yknow, the original
Bring back smash run!! Would love to see it expanded into a full rogueliteish mode. Also, I honestly really enjoyed spirits, and I think they’re a fine replacement for trophies. They just need to give them descriptions like trophies had! It gave them so much more character and it was cool to learn a little about a character, item, etc you didn’t know before.
Not everyone got comfortable with not owning their music or movies, though. There’s still a market for CDs, vinyls, DVDS, blu-rays, etc. of course, it’s a much smaller market but it still exists. The convenience of streaming is nice, but tangibly owning something is still important to many people
@rallydefault lol I’m not being uptight I’m just making a stupid joke. I just think it’s silly to write articles about pretty baseless predictions, just because they come from analysts
I would be shocked if we don’t hear something official about a switch 2 this year. I don’t expect it to be released this year, but I feel we have to hear something. If not, we’ve gotta get some more big game releases, because as of now we have no huge releases coming up.
Movies: Across the Spiderverse. It was worth the 4.5 year wait, a masterpiece that almost matched the original. I really hope we don’t have to wait another 4 years for Beyond.. TV: haven’t watched a lot, but I know The Bear season 2 is the best. I can’t wait to finish it, phenomenal show Music: Foo Fighters’ But Here We Are. A triumphant return after some horrible losses. It’s the best thing the Foos have done since Wasting Light, a perfect farewell. Rest in peace, Taylor and Virginia
One of the best articles I’ve read on here in a long time. In an industry that is constantly shafting its developers, especially in recent years, it’s extremely disappointing to see these talented people who put the real work in get this kinda treatment yet again. Maybe next year will be better than the last?
It’s only really between BG3 and TOTK, although seeing Wonder nominated is really cool. I’m really interested to see the winners this year, it’s been a great year in terms of acclaimed games
Makes sense, I wonder if any of these games were between Tropical Freeze-Retro taking over Prime 4, because there was a big gap inbetween there with nothing from them.
I don’t think anyone saying this sounds like an ad is accusing NL of anything, this article just kinda sounds like an ad. Nothing wrong with that, it’s just a bit strange. As George Costanza said, the defensiveness over a harmless joke is a bit strange
I’m gonna ignore the other.. stuff people are talking about and just question why exactly this book is necessary? So many other books have done the “history of gaming” thing a million times before, I’m not sure what new insight this book could bring.
@Jeronan eh, in my opinion sword and shield are the worst Pokémon games on switch besides BDSP. They were ok at launch but after Legends Arceus and ScarVi they really pale in comparison with the wild area. Open world is the next step for Pokémon games, and the gameplay of ScarVi proved it can be very very fun. It just needs more time to prove it can be truly great in 3D/open world
@SwagaliciousJohnson the issue isn’t really the series being in 3D, it’s moreso Game Freak not allowing these games enough time in the oven to take advantage of being in 3D. Games like Legends Arceus have showed us the potential of Pokémon in 3D but to truly unlock that potential they need to give these games longer development cycles
I never understood why they didn’t do this for smash. When the switch eshop inevitably goes down both fighter passes go down with it, like what just happened on 3DS and Wii U
This seems dumb and arbitrary. Video games are a type of entertainment. They’ve always been an entertainment company… does this really need an article/poll?
@fenlix this is the comment I’m looking for. Hell two of the best games in this series had hellish developments (Prime and Super) so this comment is just ridiculous. I LOVE Dread but this is comes off as very egotistical and just a lie
Idk if I’m the only one on this but Superstars artstyle is just really unappealing to me. Looks very plasticy and cheap. I understand their logic here, but the pixel art was way better imo
This is great timing because I literally just got the Master Sword less than 24 hours ago. For some context, this is the first time I’ve ever gotten the Master Sword in ANY Zelda game. What an incredible experience, such a legendary moment. I actually did all of this stuff in order, so it felt like an extremely rewarding payoff.
I’m saved in-front of the final boss now, and I think tonight is the time to take it down. Man, this game is just something else.
