Ubisoft has confirmed that the upcoming Donkey Kong Adventure DLC for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will arrive on 26th June.
The news comes from Ubisoft's E3 conference, during which the lovely musical wizard Grant Kirkhope - composer of the game - and a team of talented musicians took to the stage to perform music from a brand new trailer live. It was quite the show, and you can check out the normal version of the trailer above.
Interestingly, season pass owners will receive the DLC update a day early on 25th June, but it really isn't long to wait now either way which is great news indeed.
Did you enjoy the performance? Will you be playing this new DLC for Mario + Rabbids? Let us know below.

I didn't think I'd care for Ubisoft's conference, but I have to give them props for putting effort into it. The DK rap reference during that performance made my day.
That's one dope trailer!!
It looks really good.
Props to Ubi for the support.
Ubi done good
Ubisoft supports Nintendo with some good stuff. Loved this game and plan to play this dlc
I heard the Gold Edition will be released in Physical with all DLC stuffs. Is that true ?
I've only recently started playing it but Kingdom Battle has been one of Switch's most pleasant surprises. It's insanely addictive and this will be a Day 1 purchase for me.
@Anti-Matter yes
I need to finish the main game to get ready for this.
soooo... only thing of value from Ubi on Switch is DLC for last year game. That we already knew was coming. Brilliant!
Looks brilliant, as did the main game. Will definitely pick this up down the line.
I am getting this day 1, or in this case day before day 1.
Oh, after watching the Ubisoft conference one thing I noticed being used a lot for their reveals was the word traditional in this sentence.
"Available on all traditional consoles"
Switch isn't in that list is it Ubisoft.
welp time to buy that season pass.
Props to the band who played during this sequence! Loved it.
@1UP_MARIO Sorry to trouble you but is that artwork real? "Gold Edition" isn't the typical name for a game + DLC compilation, usually it's "Complete" or "GotY" or something. Gold sounds like something you'd get Day 1 w/ a Lego toy in the box or the game disc in a steelbox.
"Day earlier for season pass owners"
How else would you get it though unless you bought the season pass? If they are selling it individually for $12 or whatever somebody should mention that somewhere in the article.

Season pass is $19.99 online

Is this the only DLC that is releasing?
I didn't get the season pass as I wanted to know what content would be released. If it was just cosmetic or multiplayer things then I wouldn't be interested, but I'm certainly down for a full campaign.
@rjejr https://nintendoeverything.com/mario-rabbids-kingdom-battle-gold-edition-officially-announced-for-retail/
It was officially announced awhile ago. The digital version is already available on the eShop, the physical version I believe hasn’t been released yet but that’s the image Ubisoft has given.
@CaPPa it’s the last DLC, we’ve already gotten the rest of the season pass. It had weapons and a challenge mode, possibly something else I’m forgetting... but this is the final piece of DLC in the season pass. Everything else is available.
@rjejr
Gold is what Ubisoft labels their game + pass combos as. Do it with practically every IP they own that gets DLC.
Usually it's put up for preorder before the game even releases though. Which is cool because you can get 20% off the season pass in addition to 20% off the game, by purchasing the Gold Edition from BB.
@CaPPa
This is the grand finale DLC content. All the rest has been released already.
That's what I wanted to hear. Late June is looking mighty busy with this, Mario Tennis, Ys VIII, Crash, Wolfenstein, etc. Hopefully Mario + Rabbids 2 is in development.
So glad I picked up the Gold Edition on sale for $50. Can't wait to play this eventually.~
That trailer was brilliant!Considering i bought my Switch for this game I will definitely be playing this...can't wait!
@JaxonH Thanks. I did finally find Gold listed in the eShop, sounds weird as a year old name though. But if it's their pattern it makes sense.
How you enjoying E3 so far? I see I need to get another old JRPG Tales of Vesperia. Not much else new for me though, but of course it doesn't really start for me until Sony tonight then Nintendo tomorrow. Both my kids are home tomorrow so we'll be watching together on the big screen tv. Probably on the Wii U unless PS4 has a dedicated app. Not on Switch unless I missed something.
@ShadJV Thanks. I've seen a lot of links to Nintendo everything on here lately, may need to bookmark that site.
@rjejr

Probably won't happen before the conferences but, still, good to know it's likely imminent.
Tales of Vesperia is a Godsend man. I bought the 360 version of that game several years ago waiting for backwards compatibility on the X1, along with Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon... Vesperia is the only one that never came.
My brother says it's the pinnacle of the series and one of the best RPG's he's ever played. Getting that game on switch was the best possible outcome I could've hoped for.
Also, seems Wolfenstein Youngblood is up for preorder on Switch at GameStop. So it looks like that game is coming- which is amazing because I don't think I can go back to FPS games with analog sticks anymore. I need that motion. DOOM and all these other Switch games- Resident Evil Revelations 1/2, LA Noire, Skyrim, Zelda, Splatoon 2, etc they've got me hooked on a higher standard of play.
Team Sonic Racing looks terrific too. And Mega Man 11. Switch isn't going to get nearly as many third-party games but the ones it's getting are really the ones I wanted. I think it's easy to take this system for granted but it wasn't that long ago but just getting one watered down Vita port a year was considered "groundbreaking" for the portable gaming space. Oh how far we've come.
Valkyria Chronicles 4. Don't miss that one. Trust me. Tales of Vesperia and Valkyria Chronicles 4 and Fire Emblem 16- we'll have 3 of the greatest RPG's of the modern era, all on a hybrid system, this year. Toss in Octopath Traveller and Y's VIII and World Ends With You (another one my bro says is among the very best RPG's he's played), Shining Resonance, Pillars of Eternity... gosh dang. Switch is living up to the portable RPG vision.
I thought Microsoft blew the lid off btw. One of the best conferences I've ever seen. And I was seriously about to write them off entirely. Even Spencer was wearing thin on my patience. But they came hard. New Gears of War, new Gears Tactics game, Forza Horizon 4, new From Software game, DMC 5, new Halo, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Tales... like a dozen others I can't even remember too.
I'm thinking Nintendo will have the least interesting E3 this year. But having said that, i'm not going to be disappointed by any stretch or measure. It's just that the other conferences have been so good, ya know? Well, at least MS and Bethesda. Ubisoft was ok. But I think Nintendo is going to play their cards right by not borrowing on too much post-2018 release credit. We already know of three major exclusives coming in 2019/2020 (Bayo3, Pokémon, Metroid Prime 4) so they really can't afford to be asking for future announcement loans. That may pay off in the short term but it will be detrimental in the long run. Better to pay off that debt now and have a clean slate going into the fall Direct and E3 2019.
@rjejr yes it is. It comes out the same day as the dlc.
im still on world 1 no rush for me but this DLC looks good
@rjejr no prob, I don’t particularly use the site myself.
@Agramonte maybe to you but I am pumped to have trials and starlink with starfox
This game was awesome I am so glad the dlc is meaty. Can’t wait!!
Definitely buying the DLC sooner or later but no rush, I'm still stuck on the end of the base game.
Got the season pass
Looks like I am not going to regret it!
@Brutchie-bear We had already seen StarLink - You don't need E3 for a StarFox skin. You use E3 to announce the next big thing. None of this is at the same level as Kingdom Battle - they went backwards.
I bought the season pass but had almost forgotten about this game. I loved it while playing through it, but had no interest in replaying it once I finished it. It will be nice to get more content!
How much is it to buy the DLC itself and not season pass?
I heard its 2 hours long. That's not very long.
@Agramonte Nintendo has not even presented yet chill. Starlink looked great this year vastly improved over last year so yeah I was pretty thrilled
@Brutchie-bear I did't say anything about Nintendo - clearly refereed to Ubisoft. Yes, Nintendo will put on a show - Big game announcements and surprises for the Switch. How it should be done.
@JaxonH E3 always makes me a week behind with email replies.
Purchased MvR Gold yesterday. Bought a $50 eShop email card at Target.com for $47.50 then bought the game on my PC for $47.78 (for a $43.99 game, stupid tax) and the itsy bitsy teeny weenie 2.9GB download was done by the time I got downstairs. So Nintneod got all of that right web store to Switch stuff right.
I'm only up to the hub area, I'm assuming you've played most if not all of it, and it was cuter than I thought. Looking forward to the rest when I have the time. No way I'll finish the base game before DK next week, but that's ok.
@JaxonH Tales of Vesperia
I saw you talking that one up, I'll put it on the list of JRPG I'll never get to play along w/ Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon.
I thought MS won E3 not for the games they showed but the 5 companies they bought, meaning they aren't getting out of the home console business and they will have more games on X1 than X2 had. It was also a really tight show filled with games from what I saw, but I dont' think I watched more than 30 minutes, 9 days ago seems like months ago for my short term memory these days.
Nintneod had Super Mario Party and SSBU. How many more shows do we have to wait for Pikmin 4?
As little gaming as I've done over the past year or so this E3 pretty much made me want to give it up entirely. I at least need to give up gaming news, just find out when games get release dates so I'm not looking forward to them for 3 years just to have them cancel or jump console generations. If it takes God of War two more games to finish up Asgard I'll never see the end. If FF7R is a series I'll never play the end of that either. Video games are a young man's game.
All I wanted was Yoshi.
@JaxonH You or your bro have any thoughts on Shining Resonance Refrain? It looks similar to YS 8 but seems like it has a bit more world conquering story, and dragons. Seems like they borrowed a bit from a bunch of classics - Legend of Dragon, XC - girl keeps saying "Now it's Ryne time". 4th wall breaking is kind of odd but it grew on me. And the action combat seems a bit more JRPG than YS 8, which was good, but almost too much action, not enough JRPG. Figured I'd ask.
@rjejr
Only played the demo, but I really liked it. Almost more excited for it than Y's VIII, although NOTHING can top Octopath Traveller (play Primrose's path in the demo, trust me), Valkyria Chronicles 4, The World Ends With You and Tales of Vesperia.
Still, Shining Resonance and Y's VIII aren't too far behind.
@JaxonH I can't get past the graphics in Octopath, too 3DS and brown. And everything looks so tiny, like a diorama. I do need to play the new demo though. It's between YS 8 and Shining Resonance Refrain. Think I'm leaning towards battling dragons as opposed to island building. Maybe I'll replay the 2 demos again and decide, the combat is slightly different.
@rjejr
Oh man, the graphics in Octopath are incredible!
I'm not a fan of pixel graphics. In fact I'm downright sick and tired of them. But if a game uses them right and it's good enough it can still be appealing. It's rare but it can happen. And this is definitely one of those times. It's very colorful- maybe it was like that in the original demo but I'm playing the Primrose Path in the new demo, and I don't see any of those complaints being applicable really.
Not only that, but just the story and dialogue is so mature and so refreshingly good, it's a slap in the face and wake up call to how JRPG's actually used to be... good!
The HD and lighting effects really make it look like a modern game with a very specific retro art style. Trust me man you need to play Primrose Path on the new demo. If that doesn't sell you on the game you have no soul 😱
@JaxonH I did say I'd play it, but thanks for the reminder b/c I forgot again.
@rjejr
I've been playing in bursts. I just beat the first big boss in Primrose's Journey, and I'm just awestruck with how good this game is.
I'm not ready to make any bold statements just yet but, this game is on a trajectory to become one of my favorite JRPG's ever. It remains to be seen if the other 7 paths are as good as hers. But even if some of them aren't quite reaching the same heights, even if they're close it'll be a triumph.
It's been along time since I played a JRPG that had a real story line. Like, real issues and mature themes that isn't just some off-the-wall fantasy. I mean this game is definitely fantasy, but it's grounded in a certain sense of realism. It's also crammed with content. Way more than I was expecting.
Captain Toad demo is also out. I remember you always complaining about lack of demos- I think there's been more demos released in the last month than Wii U got its entire life span.
Oh, and Hollow Knight. One of the best indie games I've ever played. Up there with Ori and the Blind Forest, and I think that game is worth buying an Xbox for. In fact Hollow Knight might even be better. It's hard though. Not Dark Souls hard but, probably out of your comfort zone.
As for Y's and Shining Resonance, why not both. They're a month apart anyways. I'd hold off on Y's for a bit though- they've detailed for patches that will be in coming to fix text issues and round some corners here and there. One of them will be ready at launch, one of them that weekend, the third one will be out during launch week and the fourth one will be in July.
@JaxonH "Captain Toad demo is also out. I remember you always complaining about lack of demos- I think there's been more demos released in the last month than Wii U got its entire life span."
You're very right about that. There aren't any demo's that come to mind on Wii U, though the ones that did all had that 10x limit. Unless those were just on 3DS. I don't need a Captain Toad demo though, still own it on Wii U disc.
"It's hard though."
Harder than Ori? Ori nearly killed me 3x. Escaping the flooding tree, lava wave from left to right, and final boss. But I beat it. That's as proud as I'll ever be beating a game. I was proud beating Toki Tori 2+ b/c I never used a guide and it was supposed to be a hard puzzler, but hard puzzler isn't hard platformer. I'm never starting Cuphead even though my kid bought it on PC.
Thanks for the info on the Ys updates. How can it have updates, it released on PS4 last September?
Octopath still isn't my cup of tea. I don't like real life stories that much. Is it more "mature" than FE? You love those FE games, you never stopped raving about that first 3DS one and I know story is a big part of those.
And I wont' get both b/c I'm not really gaming that much anymore. My backlog is too big, I could probably spend the rest of my life just playing what I own and never finish. Too many PS+ sales. And all the games I buy for the kids I want to play. I'd like to get 1 to play over the summer, maybe it should be XC2 so I'll be done in time for the DLC in September? That's a possibility. Had it been on sale last week I would have purchased it. Paying full price for a game 6 months after release kind of defeats the purpose of not buying it day 1. Getting Mario v Rabbid Gold for $44, $36 off, and just in time for the DK DLC was a nice deal. I still might pick up Ys 8 is Sony puts it on sale next week to match the Switch release. Otherwise we all start playing the 6 Kingdom Hearts games.
I'd start playing The Witcher 3 but I figure it's too adult for my 13 year old to watch, I need to play something over the summer to keep him amused. And my wife, and she only likes JRPG or games like Uncharted or Tomb Raider. Hard to find a game to have 3 other people watch.
@JaxonH I just purchased Ni No Kuni 2 on PS4 (I probably didn't need that last part, I think it's exclusive, but just in case). I figured I'd tell ya since you keep giving me all this info on JRPG I keep asking about, so this is my JRPG for summer. Next will probably be either XC2 or DQ11. We'll see.
And yes I know I kind of went against my thoughts on season passes and bought this game despite no info being available on the $20 season pass content, but I'm planning on finishing the game, trading it in, and pretending the DLC doesn't exist.
I bought it b/c Newegg had Day 1 edition new for $34.99, no tax. That's basically half price on Amazon w/ NY tax. For a 3 month old game that should take me 50 hours. But most importantly my family all agreed on it, even my 13 year old. We finished the first game maybe a year ago so we're all looking forward to this one for the no homework no test studying summer.
I'll let ya know how it goes.
@rjejr
I liked Ni No Kuni 2, or at least, I liked the bit I played. Gave up because I could only play on the TV. Waiting for my GPD Win 2 to arrive in the mail so I can play on the go or the TV via PC with cloud save between the two.
It's a makeshift PC hybrid using Steam cloud saves.
DQXI looks good, but I'll wait for Switch. Too many other good games, especially JRPG's, in the second half of the year anyways.
@JaxonH "Gave up because I could only play on the TV."
Well since that's the only way I play, if I do give up that won't be the reason. 😆
