@Jakiboy Given that it has mostly positive reviews on Steam and that there's a slice of the pie of Switch users who like slow-paced games, I'm not sure where you're getting that this is most likely to fail.
I wanted to love the demo and in theory I really like the battle style, but those character models are just so jarring compared to the art in the cities that it's hard to not dwell on it.
@MisterMan In what possible way is it trolling? The individual isn't baiting anyone with an illogical claim or posting anything inflammatory. It's a simple opinion.
@Pat_trick "most white people were incredibly racist" is a sweeping generalization that covers up his awful views. I'm not disputing that racism was rampant at the time (as it is now) but we don't need to act like he was just one in a vast majority either.
My most wanted game of 2020. Several hours in and not really disliking it but I'm trying real hard to turn a blind eye to all the red flags. Disappointed.
I respect the opinion of those who want the big name titles to drop, I do too, but what I've never understood is the argument that nothing is coming out this year as if indies don't exist or aren't worth our time whatsoever. None of these are BOTW2 in scope or hype but you can't tell me that there isn't a great variety of smaller games coming out and that they're all lacking in quality. Indies can be just as rewarding as the massive titles if given the chance.
@Obs Isn't the proposed release date, with the Kickstarter in mind, in 2022? As it's no guarantee that it being a Kickstarter will automatically delay it, I'm kind of going with what they say until I see proof of a delay. Or is every game that's Kickstarted like this?
Maybe it's wishful thinking of me, but I don't see how this doesn't come out on this Switch as well. If the Switch is nearing, or at, the midpoint of its lifespan wouldn't then that put this game's launch still within the timeframe of this Switch rather than Switch 2 (or whatever the name will be)? Or am I completely messing up my timelines?
@Allspice Apparently it was in the Kickstarter comments.
I'm also looking at it this way. Say BOTW 2 comes out at some point next year, do we really feel like the Switch will then become a thing of the past for Nintendo in favor of "Switch 2" just the following year? Maybe. But given that 2022 is just 17ish months away, I can't imagine that 1. they'd move on so quickly from the original and 2. there wouldn't have been even the slightest bit of concrete news about the successor so close to 2022.
Anything can happen but I'd be shocked if the Switch isn't still the primary system in 2022.
@Allspice From the studio: "We want to target Switch 2 but will make sure we provide options for Switch if that is the only thing there is. We care about Nintendo hardware."
It doesn't sound like they don't even want to offer it for the Switch.
@Shepdawg1 But isn't the Switch roughly halfway through its lifespan, meaning that if this game is completed in two years it should be good to go for the Switch?
@PapaMurphy Likely because non-watchers see someone like Neymar do it and assume that his kind of theatrics are rampant across the sport for the entire 90 minutes when that's not really the case.
@TG16_IS_BAE I'm sorry but that's a load of nonsense. Dropping the n word so incredibly casually isn't an easily passable thing and I'm not naive enough to believe that it was a one-time act. I get frustrated at games too but I've never once used a racial epitaph like that during my frustration. You can accept his apology if you want but at the same time be adult enough to not so easily brush off such a terrible thing to say. Cancel culture, a silly term really, has nothing to do with this.
@TG16_IS_BAE If I, as a massively public figure, had a history of racist and anti-Semitic behavior to my name, I would certainly hope my feet would be held to the fire by the public and that the standards for my behavior would be significantly raised. And the Swedish nationality argument doesn't hold water in 2020, he's not accidentally stumbling into some of those words.
@WiX If people can't perform a simple search then that's on them but the idea that the only press coverage he gets is negative and not reporting on his charitable work due to some media bias against him is factually incorrect.
@darkswabber A simple Google search lists his charitable work, let's not act as if news outlets are colluding against him to keep it a secret. He's not a victim here.
@Atariboy Come on, that's not the case. No major network is going to pull a decades-old show because of one person. Be reasonable. People complain about things on a much bigger scale on a daily basis, far more than one or two people at a time, and things don't get pulled all the time. If it got pulled it's because of a massive pushback and not just down to one person.
@JasmineDragon Not for me then as I've definitely had both incidents I mentioned along with the random crashes others have brought up. I love and support the game but it's inexplicable to me that some of these concerns haven't been fully addressed. Even if they fixed the victory screen bug, the world congress one is definitely still there.
@JasmineDragon It's not incorrect at all, I just opened up my game and played until I got to the world congress and it absolutely bugged out. It does this every single time for me. It's not fixed whatsoever and still requires the save+load trick to get past it.

Re: Hands On: We've Played Bravely Default II On Switch, And Here's What We Think So Far
@Rika_Yoshitake What? Complaining about the characters you'll be looking at endlessly for tens of hours is a minor nitpicky thing now? I'm confused.

@MisterMan It's not at all trolling expressing that a game or genre is not for you.

@MusicalFeline ND rep here, you beat me to it. Such a perfectly boring rectangular-ish state.

I made it as far as that GOTG line, which just has to be a parody of the Suicide Squad line.

@Meuz Why?
Re: We Can Expect More Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcases This Year
Perfectly fine with me. I'd rather get updates more frequently than wait for one or two all year long.

@HammerKirby "You don't even know if they're going to be good or not until reviews come out."
That is the case with virtually every single game, indie or not.
