Launching next week on Nintendo Switch is Wind Peaks, a 'searching' game that features gameplay in the style of the popular Where's Wally? books and visuals inspired by animated series Hilda and Gravity Falls.
Wind Peaks tells the story of a group of scouts who find a map that guides them to a magical part of the forest. It features 10 hand-drawn levels in total, essentially acts like a hidden object game, and has a pretty charming art style judging by the screenshots below.
Game Features
• 10 cartoonish hand made levels
• Relaxing forest sounds
• A relaxing wholesome experience
• Fun and peaceful interactions
• Cute casual gameplay
It launches on 3rd March and will be available on the eShop for $14.99; we're told that it promises around an hour-and-a-half of gameplay, and Steam user reviews have been 'mostly positive' since it launched on the platform last year.

Hold up... cute game and all... but Waldo goes by "Wally" in the UK? Okay, but what about his evil doppelganger "Odlaw" do they just call him "Yllaw" over there?
Yeah....ill skip this, not for me. Appreciate the effort they put into making it though.
The art reminds me of the Hilda Netflix series, which is a very good thing. Not sure I would enjoy searching for tiny things on my Switch Lite, but charmed nonetheless.
Question: Why?
It's also 'Ou est Charlie?' In France.
@Jakiboy basically - people had idea - made game - published game.
@Desrever
Yes they call him Yllaw over here in the UK.

The art style gives me Gravity Falls vibes.
Edit: Just realised this was highlighted in the article
@Lordplops
I was jokingly questioning why it exists when it's very much likely to flop.
But I guess that flew over you head or you wasn't on the ball with that one; whichever you prefer...
Didn’t know he’s called wally in the UK, same name as in the Netherlands.
@RupeeClock And now begins my needlessly extensive deep dive into Waldo/Wally lore
I find it weird he’s called Waldo in the States. Is that even a name?
@Jakiboy Given that it has mostly positive reviews on Steam and that there's a slice of the pie of Switch users who like slow-paced games, I'm not sure where you're getting that this is most likely to fail.
@Desrever
Odlaw aka Yllaw has a daughter named Odlulu aka Yllulu
£9.99 in the UK - would be nice if Nintendo Life didn't assume we all paid for things in dollars.
Looks quite interesting but will wait for it to hit the sales.
@bozz
Ah, I had forgotten that we have moved on from the fast paced hardcore gaming phase, and now a lot of the videogame audience is riddled with casuals (especially in the Nintendo fandom) thanks to mobile gaming and the Wii.
My bad, but thanks for reminding me~
Remember how Waldo had a Wario named Odlaw? What's that character called in the uk?
@Desrever and what about the red room?
@Jakiboy No one moved on from it, I'm not sure why the forced snark.
@bozz
If you haven't noticed that most games these days have been catering to casuals (even with the intermediate and hardcore ones, making the gameplay easier when you die a certain amount of times or assist modes.).
Then you're not very observant. Also wasn't being snarky, I was genuinely thanking you
I know that Wally is his original name, there is nothing particularly distinct about it. There are tons of fictional Wallys (Wally Gator, Wally West, Wally Cleaver, etc.) but very few people have the name Waldo. When you heard it, you instantly think of the character from the books.
I'm all for short games, but not $10/hour.
@nessisonett I find it weird that he's not called Waldo. And yes, it's a name. It's never used, but that doesn't stop it from being recognizable as a name.
@Jakiboy Absolutely none of what you think you were saying was in your original comment. Nothing flew over @Lordplops 's head, and he wasn't not on the ball. No reason to be a **** to him, especially when you were the one being obtuse, but since you followed that up by continuing to be a ****, doubling down on it even, I can't say I'm surprised.
Wind Peaks? Twin Peaks?
Looks totally like Hilda.
Hardcore games on Nintendo?
Also reminds me of Hidden Through Time
This game costs $10 an hour to play!
Nobody remembers Waldo Geraldo Faldo from Family Matters?
Is 30% off for the first week so £6.99 here in UK until 10th March if of interest to anyone.
