I'll be getting this, but it's still absolutely shocking to me that they didn't fix at least the pre-victory crashing or the world congress bug before releasing this. Widely known problems for a long time that never even got touched.

@HeroponRiki I'm one of those who has a few hundred hours sunk into it with minimal crashes, probably less than a half dozen. Only problem I have is that annoying world congress bug which they still haven't fixed. Drives me nuts.

@Razer It's not unplayable at all, people just love to exaggerate when it comes to this game.

Well that's a bummer as the Switch could definitely use some more turn-based strategy games after the usual suspects. At least XCOM's on the horizon.

Excellent, glad it got such a good review and performs so well. However, that 2-3 hour length is a little bit of a bummer.

Broken Lines and Sunless Sea, exceptionally hyped for the latter.

Octopath still takes my breath away every time I sit down to play it.

@edgedino Does that matter? I've never heard of this studio before and the pinball thing doesn't impact my opinion on this game in the least. If it's a decent game at a decent price, then the pinball thing is irrelevant.

@The-Chosen-one It's good, my eyes aren't as trained as a lot of peoples' when it comes to performance but I've had no hiccups and I feel it looks great. Two games of that scope for that price seems entirely fair to me and I'd recommend it.

I want to get this game and I want to enjoy it but for the life of me, JRPGs just look and play so unappealing. It's too bad because I want to be part of the experience and like a game that, by all accounts, was so expertly made. Maybe some day it'll click for me, at least I hope so.

Yes to Witcher 3. SMO?

Even if the show doesn't end up great or successful, though I think it will, it's pretty neat to see a big name so invested in such a property when maybe we didn't expect it. Fassbender with AC as well.

@JayJ While keeping in mind everyone's tastes and experience, yeah, it really feels like it's between BOTW and SMO if we're talking about a combination of ambition, recognition, sales and legacy.

Incredible game and probably my number one wish for a port. 2020 can't get here soon enough.

I wish (I think?) I had the ability to notice these FPS drops the way the majority here seems to be able to. Obviously if it looks like a Dreamcast game I'll be able to tell the difference, but I honestly don't think I see the difference between 30fps and the 20s. You guys have some fantastic eyesight because it still looks nice to me from the screenshots and video footage I've seen.

I can't believe this much time is spent arguing over the difference between a 9/10 and 10/10 in the opinion of one person. Either way, it's a great game.

Can't disagree with DOS2 as the top pick. Was intimidated by the sheer size of it but some 30 hours in and I struggle to find any substantial criticism of it. Just brilliant.

Have it on PC, have it on mobile, need it for the Switch. Some of the best writing I've come across in a game and fantastic choices each time you start up the journey. Can't recommend it enough.

@FXK So were you unable to continue playing because of these bugs?

@FXK It's hardly "completely broken" at all. A couple minor glitches like the stats descriptions but the devs already said they're working to fix that and it's not like it breaks the essential parts of the game. I've yet to come across the other two bugs you mentioned.

Maybe this just isn't for you while Grandia is.

Maybe my most anticipated game this summer, if not year, but those graphics are an absolute disappointment to say the least (even given the Switch's limitations). Coupled with the short play time, it's kind of hard to drop $40 on it. What a bummer.

I so, so badly want to see what everyone else sees in this game. I feel like I'm missing out completely on something special but to me the visual style just kind of looks meh and kind of basic Anime-ish. Maybe I'll come around but it's a bummer because I'd love to be on the side that loves this game. :/

This is extremely my jam.

I feel terrible about it because for whatever reason I just can't muster any excitement or interest in this game despite it appearing to be a future hit. Maybe it's how super futuristic or chaotic the action is, but it just does nothing for me and it feels like I'm missing something obvious and great that seemingly everyone else sees. Hope it does well though.

@Agramonte Absolutely, already on my wishlist and rushing to finish up Phantom Doctrine before MYZ comes out.

The number one game that caught my eye during E3. Can never get enough XCOM type of games on the Switch.

I'm really enjoying this one. It's not the most polished game ever but for that price it's pretty fun and a pretty long game to boot.

I normally like and agree with NL's reviews but the way it paints this game as a picture of mediocrity is way off-base IMO. While it may not have the most varied playstyle, it's hardly as tedious as made out to be. To each his own but this review sure seems to be pretty harsh.
