Re: Evergreen Nintendo Releases Hang Tough in the UK as Xenoblade Chronicles X Tumbles Out of Top 40

arnoldlayne83

@Dave24 ROTR sold 1/3 at launch than its predecessor..... of course at the end only SE will know if the bargain was good or not. (better getting the Microsoft money in advance or try to reach highest selling numbers overall?). The game will be released on Ps4 next year, yes, but after Uncharted 4 and together with a tons of other Sony Exclusives. I am pretty sure this will become a "bargain bin" game for Sony userbase (considering also that part of such userbase was pissed by SE move).....

On your second point, I do not think it would have been so much better to have XCX released on 2013 or 2014, since the WiiU userbase was even smaller and there were big games like all the Marios.... It is also unfair to compare it with other AAA games from other consoles.... you should just compare it with other games on same platform or with the previous Xenoblade on Wii....

Re: Evergreen Nintendo Releases Hang Tough in the UK as Xenoblade Chronicles X Tumbles Out of Top 40

arnoldlayne83

@JaxonH I see your point and I agree. XCX looks fantastic (I still have to play it but at the moment still no time to finish Witcher and Fallout....).
But please also consider that the "prequel" was sold on a console (at the end of its life-cycle) that had X10 userbase, and that on WiiU gems like XCX, TW101, Bayonetta2 all under performed.... seems a trend. The only new IP that seems selling like classic Mario and Zelda has been Splatoon so far on the system....

Re: Super Mario Maker Tops The Charts In Japan, Causes Wii U Sales To Double

arnoldlayne83

Not really impressive numbers to be honest. I was expecting at least double for both software and hardware sales, considering how here everyone looks crazy for Mario Maker (videogame sites included). PS4 did 54k units when metal gear solid launched, and its fall was predictable, since MGSV is there already since two weeks and there was no other big releases for the platform.

Re: Shovel Knight amiibo Confirms "Evolving" Relationship With Indies, Says Nintendo

arnoldlayne83

@FLUX_CAPACITOR So first you said something like "It is ok to lock some content to Amiibo cos they wanna sell the figurine, and this content is generally not big, so if you don't want the amiibo you don't loose to much" and then you just said the opposite "so with coop and extra stuff there is a big value in the amiibo, so is kinda good to buy it"......(see #40 and #45).

So essentially we can assume that not matter what, Nintendo is right. It is our bad that we would like to have extra contents without wanting the plastic toy with it.....

Re: Shovel Knight amiibo Confirms "Evolving" Relationship With Indies, Says Nintendo

arnoldlayne83

@FLUX_CAPACITOR Yeah, their strategy is pretty clear....

But still, they shouldn't lock a coop mode (just an example, it could also be extra levels, playable characters and so on) behind a plastic figure.

As also @Jazzer94 said, give me the option to get more "important" extras as only digital.

Meanwhile, speaking as a ps4 owner too, there are big AAA games that keep delivering "not so important" extras for free, not asking you any price. I am thinking of Diablo 3 (just released an extra zone, extra gears, extra enemies) the Witcher 3, Driveclub (that is almost insane in free contents), Helldivers. Take this last one, they release new weapons, stratagems and vehicles in small packs that costs 3-4 Euros each, in group of 3, and you can get the whole trio for 10 Euros or so.... So it is completely free to the user what they wanna get. But new bosses, planets and missions are released for free to everyone. I like this policies more than having to cover my living room in useless plastic toys (I speak as a grown up 30years old guy now, I understand could be different for kids or atcion-figures fetishists)

Re: Shovel Knight amiibo Confirms "Evolving" Relationship With Indies, Says Nintendo

arnoldlayne83

Indeed is a trend that I don't personally like. It is ok the dlc philosophy (as long as at D1 I get a complete game), since normally prices for add-ons are proportional to their content. But here I am kind of forced to pay 15 Euro for a figurine if I wanna have more in-game stuff (and normally with amiibo the content is comparable to little expansion packs). What If I don't give a damn about the figurine? Why can't I pay only the price of the digital content?

It would be more fair if I can choose between paying 15 Euro for Figure+COntent or 2.50 Euro for the content itself.....

Re: Review: Devil's Third (Wii U)

arnoldlayne83

@MarvinTheMartian #129 I believe is like that because the lack of voice chat is the least f the problems this game has....Still, your is a good point. In a game like this no voice chat means almost no way of tactical interaction between team member. Same for Splatoon, in both games is a major letdown for me.

Re: Review: Devil's Third (Wii U)

arnoldlayne83

So, they ask 60 bucks for half baked / half broken singleplayer experience while the multiplayer is a pay to win system same as the free pc version.... Smart, very smart.

This will be one of the few time I won't be disappointed by N fanbase if the game bombs. There are many other 3rd parties titles on WiiU that deserve love. I will stick to planetside 2 and bf4 for my massive fps fix

Re: Updated 'Roadmap' Infographic Shows Nintendo's 2015 Release Line-Up

arnoldlayne83

@tysonfury the witcher 3, bloodborne, helldivers, diablo 3, galak z, sound shapes, borderlands collection, dark souls scholar of first sin, driveclub, transistor, skulls of shogun, toukiden, samirai warriors 4, Mordor, Aloen isolation... There is already a lot of great titles on ps4. For every genra you can choose already 3/4 titles at least. Plus the indie selection is great and not much shovelware. I seriously doubt you can be disappointed, maybe dig a lil on metacritic or specialized Ps sites, I am sure you are gonna find something for your taste

Re: Nintendo Download: 27th August (Europe)

arnoldlayne83

I was tempted by Devil Third, but the recent first impressions I red put me down on this..... Moreover MGS: Phantom Pain is coming (1st September), and I still have to finish the Witcher 3 before getting it.... plus, I was able to get hooked by Helldivers again (thanks to some amazing dlc packs just released)....

Re: Talking Point: PokkƩn Tournament May Not Be a Wii U Saviour, But It Can Provide a Welcome Boost

arnoldlayne83

Nintendo fans (part of them) need to stop being delusional about sales boost. This is not happening, it did not happen (or slightly happened) with major titles (Mario Kart 8, SMB), so it won't be a Pokemon spin-off to "save the day".

WiiU sold and will sell poorly compared to other consoles, just accept that.

The only one that could have partially saved the console was ZeldaU, but since it was delayed and will probably be released close to NX release too, I won't see many people jumping on the WiiU train, they will likely wait a bit more to see how the NX is and they will probably grab Zelda there, the port to new console is almost inevitable.

Re: New Patent Sparks Talk of Potential NX Details

arnoldlayne83

If it is digital download only, as i believe by reading this (cartridges? Nahhh cmon), then it mean Nintendo will skip the distributors. Then this means that they need to strongly advertise their games on the media, since you won t see them at gamestop anymore. Then i think about Nintendo skills at marketing... And i am not sure if I cry or laugh...

Re: Preview: Rekindling Platforming Passion in Super Mario Maker

arnoldlayne83

@MitchVogel #47 Agree with you. Since the announcement, I thought this should have been added to NSMBU in order to give that game a bit more "meat" and show to the market what the Gamepad could do.

Nowadays there are plenty of platforms with editors, LBP, N++, Sound Shapes (which is amazing, if you have one of the platform it has been released for and you love electronic music, you have no excuse not to try it!!). Despite what someone says, this is not the second discovery of fire.... maybe it is just for Nintendo....

Plus, by seeing how the fanbase goes crazy for this, having this tool builted in the console at launch would have sold WiiU like cupcakes, imho...

Re: Nintendo Download: 20th August (Europe)

arnoldlayne83

Meh... just meh.... no interesting discounts on e-shop and nothing new or interesting on digital delivery on WiiU side....

If it wasn't for my evening session on Mario Kart with my girlfriend I would already sell this dust-collector....
