You can easily see the difference but it was clear they exists since HW is very different.

That's why I believe one of the biggest error of Nintendo is to market Switch as a home console that can go handheld.

@Oscarzxn of course it was not only for that. But add that to good design choices, good reviews from journalists and good opinion from development, good marketing and you get it.

But still, what Sony did with ps4 here is not so important.

The point is that Switch needed to make people enthusiastically crazy about itself, and it partially failed. Not because itself, but because of the obtuse choices of Nintendo, as usual.

My thoughts. As it is, no chance it can face an even battle with other home consoles. I fear that this control gimmicks will be barely utilized by devs.

It should be marketed as portable, as home console is a WiiU 1.5

On the general audience eyes, Ps4 inherited a legacy of costant flow of good AAA and indie titlesfrom Ps3, so no big needs to show huge muscles at the beginning. People knew that buying a ps4 meant "I will have tons of games of years to come"

Switch has the hard task to show that the time of software draughts and lack of 3rd party games from WiiU is finished....

Best time to buy Switch will be on Summer, when the lack of early sales will result in a price cut a-la 3DS...

As a WiiU owner, I had to swallow the fact that software development was halted on my console to focus on Switch, to get, after 2 year, this... plus a lazy port of Mario Kart, a Map Pack of Splatoon, and the next big game (Mario) on holidays 2017....

If you take a tour of gaming websites since Friday, there are a lot of questions and concerns going on... Here it looks like Switch had the best launch on history, while it could be very possible this is the last Nintendo console on history...

@Marshi exactly... As usual, confusion and stupidity sovereign Nintendo... They are marketing a great handheld as it has to go against existing home consoles, making it the low end of the bunch again (a WiiU 1.5) both on hw performances and software choice

Now we have a Open world Zelda title (revolutionary only for Nintendo-only gamers) which can be played on another existing machine, and a casual game that should be packed in the console...

Still, remember that developement for Wiiu was practically halted 2 years ago focusing on Switch... And this is the resulted lineup...

The problem, as usual, is the software lineup and some terrible marketing decisions (Nintendo specialty) such as throwing us the online fee with no extra infos apart the laughable one month Nes Game rent, or the fact that the console is marketed as a home console that can follow you, while in truth is a very powerful handheld that can be docked to a tv...

@Ogbert yeah you are right. But I didn t mean to put it on strict personal taste. We all well know that Nintendo fans have different tastes than other gamers (generally speakin).

But this is a new console trying to get its marketshare (if it doesn't wanna be another failure like Wiiu), and this lineup has nothing (except zelda) able to attract new gamers to it. Is a (barely) decent lineup for N-enthusiasts, maybe. Even many of them are now waiting, cos they find it lacklustre. When you compare it with what s on ps4/xbox it screams wiiU all over again

This console had to be the return of Nintendo to form. It needed an awesome lineup, Zelda, Mario, Splatoon, (Metroid) and others on day one. It needed 12 Switch bundled with every console like wiisport.
It needed all the press enthusiast about the console and the games.
The best you get by the press now is "amazing piece of hardware with few games to be play" (at best)

This is even more baffling when you think that development of new games are stopped since early 2015 on wiiu and greatly reduced on 3ds.... And this is all they were able to do?

There are even less titles that interest me than on WiiU.... Absolutely terrible.

Meanwhile on february/march on other console we will have Nioh, Halo Wars, Nier Automata, Berserker, Horizon Zero Dawn, Mass effect Andromeda, For Honor....

How can Switch compete with that???

It puzzles me how the average Nintendofan let himself be milked by this company, year after year, while drinkin liters of kool-aid...

Poor lineup, a Mario game that looks empty and a not-mario game with Mario coating, high price (plus a mandatory sd card thanks to 32gb only internal memory), battery life shorter than the one on wiiu gamepad...

Definitely going to wait a long time before even considering to buy. I am not gonna have another wiiU at home

I hope this is just a false rumour. Do they really hope to sell a console with one Brand new game, an old wiiU one that everyone already has and a 6 months-later remaster of a 6 years old game?

@Mario_Fart titanfall 2 is really great. A refreshing (but a bit short) campaign with very clever level design and fast pvp with tight control and tons of playstyles available. Best fun in fps since ages!

Without EA and other AAA full commitment, Nintendo only chance is to retain as much as possible of the actual 3ds fanbase. No chance anyone coming from XBox and Ps4 will "switch to Switch".

And I laugh loud reading all these harsh and disgusted comments about EA and their games. Most of Nintendo fan are completely out of touch about the current gaming world. In two weeks EA released the two best shooter of the year, and Mass effect will follow...

So wiiU is dead and buried, and in the meantime the (naturally dying) 3ds is getting ports, while nothing official about NX....

I doubt the Tegra infrastructure will be able to run a (frankly amazing) DOOM 4 'castrated version', and the same for all the other titles.
I can see third parties skipping again NX if the latter won't sell like hot cakes
