This is great news. I remember this game being impressive for the time. It used pretty much every bit of the PlayStations power. Not sure how well it's aged but for $10 I'll support it and give it a playthrough

Pleasantly surprised with this game in 2025. Playing it for the first time and am enjoying it.

I got one. I put it in the kid's room. It's officially replaced my old Nickelodeon Sound blaster that I gave to him. Waiting for more updates though. Nintendo, imo, should be releasing more content for it on a regular basis

@Arkay It wasn't really given a chance. Only released in Japan and if I recall correctly, you had to have a subscription to some sort of service to even be able to get one.

Very cool. I remember the hype for this thing back in the day. I'd argue about it being a flop. It was delayed until the end of the N64's lifecycle and given a very limited release in Japan, which I'm guessing was just to get rid of inventory. In my mind for something to be a flop, it has to be given a chance. 64DD wasn't really ever given one.

@KayFiOS now I see it's coming to the evercade console in April 2024. Wonder if it'll ever come to the switch now.

Here's some useless knowledge.

A cut item from Dragon Quest 3 was found 25 years after the game launched. The item was called "Stun Seed" and its purpose is unknown but a developer note left over in binary says to read "Stun Seed" backwards.

Loved the original. Didn't care for the sequel or the spin-off for some reason. Does this one feel like the original?

They were supposed to have it live on Amazon at 3am est in the USA. It was late. Finally available now.

Never used the transfer Pak. Didn't offer enough for me to want it. I was disappointed it didn't work like a super gameboy. Used to play Pokemon on the super gameboy with my SNES a lot when I was home.

Remember waiting for this to release. N64 was starved for RPGs at a time when they were very popular thanks to FFVII. Looking back at some of the pics, it seems similar to the gba game so I'm not sure why it never came out.

It's all over now. Nintendo won the console wars. This game will sell 1 billion copies. Thanks Ubisoft for taking the switch seriously. Whoo!!!!! Fishing!!!!!

Still waiting for the day we get a 3d platformer Kirby game.... Only been waiting since Mario 64 first launched.

Cool but kind of short. Especially compared to the sequel... I'll still buy it though. Haven't played it since there GameCube launched

Not gonna lie. Wish the game was called "Layers Of Fear: Legacy's Bloober" after reading this.

Nintendo has been kind of stingy with select titles on the 3ds. Find it weird that there aren't more titles in the line.

If Nintendo doesn't make a Gameboy classic, I'll buy one. I want a rechargable, backlit Gameboy. I like the sp but want one fashioned after the original. I doubt there are many people like me out there though but don't tell these guys that. Lol

I bet GameCube eShop will come later. For now they'll just give a release date for the virtual console and go more in depth on the new Netflix style setup where you get unlimited games but are sort of renting them as long as you as have a subscription. Could be wrong though, it just seemed like that was the direction they were taking. They need to upgrade their online presence. Xbox and PlayStation is making them look bad on the online multiplayer scene

There aren't very many virtual boy owners out there though. I can't see many companies developing for it even with an easier engine

Loved the GBA original. My only complaint with the game was that there was no new game + mode.

Wow, had a lot of fun with the original back in the day. If I remember correctly, the sequel didn't sell very well because the PS2 came out around the same time. This game really pushed the ps1 to it's limits

@Julien if I remember correctly her boobs do play a part in the story. Lol, think she flashed some guards or something in one part of the story. It's been forever since I've played this game

@H1B1Esquire I paid $120 for mortal Kombat 2 for the Genesis back in the day. When Sony started their $20 greatest hits for the ps1, it was crazy and unheard of at the time.

Liked z a lot. I doubt we'll get x stateside because I don't think it sold well. It's a shame.

@LuckyLand Sonic 1 was my favorite as well. It felt a little slower and more methodical to me than the rest for some reason. Sonic CD is a close second for me.

Interesting hearing the people complain that when they say west, they don't mean Europe. I always kind of thought of Europe as more Central. While it is west of Japan, I wouldn't refer to it as the west personally. In reference to the states, when I hear west, I think of California and the other states on the west coast.... Just interesting to see other peoples worldly perspectives... and yay for more Atlus releases!

Quick thought, I wonder if that Street fighter deal works in conjunction with the 40% off from my Nintendo. Already own it so I won't be trying it but it's worth a shot if anyone wants to get it.

@gardevoir7 if you don't own them already, then yes. It's cheaper than buying them separately on the e shop and it's a good collection. It didn't sell well on Nintendo systems because they'd already released them prior to this

They've had better deals. I got ssfiv for $5 a couple of years ago. Same with resident evil Revelations
