Yet we only have black and white themes for our Switch...come on Nintendo!!!???
I totally forgot mynintendo was a thing.
i miss you more and more club nintendo
@PBandSmelly
It is understood the point that before the rewards were great and now not, in fact, many think the same; but why is it necessary to make that "stone throw" to people who have "that" idea?
Finally! They HAVE been getting my letters
@PBandSmelly Club Nintendo was nice indeed, but I'm 100% sure that they were losing a lot of money on sending merchandise to people's homes.
I wonder why there are no redeemable rewards that go to the game, or platinum coins to gain from playing Dr. Mario.
You can get a better screensaver for free by looking on google images
@sanderev I'm 100% sure Nintendo had a net worth of over $20 billion in 2018. So no, they weren't losing any money at all. They still had a massive, MASSIVE net gain.
@PBandSmelly "Remember Nintendo Rewards like eventual free games and a G&W ball reproduction mailed to you?"
Corporate greed won out at Nintendo. They figured why let those rewards nibble at their massive earnings. If they scrapped the program they could recoup those expenses and their share price would go up a fraction of a percent.
Pathetic. I don’t even waste my time with the site anymore. I just spend the gold coins on the eshop, that’s it.
I fail to understand how Nintendo can think, in 2019, that wallpapers (something that you can either get everywhere over the net for free or even make yourself), is a cool "freebie" or whatever.
I constantly gets those Nintendo surveys asking me how I like my new games and they only give silver coins in exchange for filling it, so that doesn't give me anything of actual value in return. Hey! Wallpapers. Woohoo! :/
I don't care about these surveys anymore. Waste of time. Now if they'd give me gold coins for them, even like, only 10 or so, that'd be something that would work with me.
But silver coins. Really. Talk about them being a useless "reward program".
@qwertyasdf Giving away stuff for free is always a "loss" and shareholders don't like that
@sanderev Shareholders can lick my center of gravity. It was nice to be rewarded by Nintendo for being a customer. To get that "free stuff" you usually had to spend a decent amount of money to get the points in the first place. I would spend more money on Nintendo products if Club Nintendo were still around, and so would many others, which would translate into more revenue. Shareholders are myopic, panicky, cowardly creatures and they ruin every company.
@qwertyasdf Without shareholders a company like Nintendo basically has no money.
Nintendo isn't a non-profit organization. If they want to be able to exist they need to make money. A company that gives away marketable goods (merchandise) for free can go bankrupt if, for one, they don't have enough income from other sales. So during the Wii U failure Nintendo couldn't keep Club Nintendo alive.
@sanderev I'm not sure that's true, but corporate finance isn't my specialty. I don't think it's yours, either. I don't care if they need to exist or not, they suck. I'm not really interested in debating. Club Nintendo was a good thing. You're all for companies cutting cost to make more money, I get it. Let's move on.
@qwertyasdf actually I did study coporate finance.
But make it simple. You work for a boss right? Now what would you say if your boss stops paying you in real money but gives you "points" you can use in your companies store (if you even have one). What would you say???
And yes, Club Nintendo was awesome. However, I can see why they stopped it.
And I'm not for cutting costs to make more many. Our economy is. And a company that doesn't cut costs and makes more money will make less money and lose their profit. Then shareholders will sell, which decreases the value of the company and the company goes bankrupt (or is taken over by another company).
@sanderev Many, if not all companies give stuff for "free" (pens, caps, stickers, cups, magazines whatever), its called marketing.
Nintendo could easily bump its customer fidelity if they stop the wallpaper nonsense and star giving cheap rewards. Pencils, stickers, whatever. Even in-game currency would be great.
