One thing I really liked about Samurai Shodown is that I could play it quite deliberately compared to other fighters, blocking and countering (much like I played the old Fight Night games actually). I wonder if I'll get a somewhat similar experience with this.

I'd love to play this but can't imagine it would be out any time soon even if they got the thumbs up to begin now.

I'll probably buy it just to support the studio as I'm a big fan of Jools' work but don't really fancy this one. Nothing wrong with it, it's just that I only really enjoy sensible soccer as far as football games go.

I've really enjoyed my time with it so far. A lot of fun on the 3DS but yeah a bit expensive

@Jeronan yeah that makes sense. Not the end of the world and I'd much rather have a game that drains battery than not have it at all, of course.

@Skorpion24 strange, I haven't actually played Pokemon Quest I must admit, but it didn't look particularly intensive. Maybe it can be sorted with a patch then.

The graphics are fine. The bigger issue I thought is that it seriously drained my battery, quicker than any other game I've played yet. It was crazy watching it drop so fast. And the fans worked overtime.

Did anyone else notice this? Perhaps I just need to restart. To be fair it was very hot in my house last night too.

I guess it's not that bad though because the chances are if you've got an internet connection you also have access to a plug.

I like it! It's kinda fun, had no idea what I was doing, kept jumping instead of shooting and all sorts of wacky nonsense but managed to get a victory royale on my first try.

Of what we know so far, I'm most excited for Fire Emblem and Yoshi. I'm also curious about Fortnite but doubt it'll be my kind of thing.

Less realistically, I'd love to see GTA V and some kind of 2D Zelda. Also love to have some more Square Enix support, like the old Final Fantasy games ported for example. Playing FF IX again would be a treat. And a release window for Dragon Quest XI please!

Even more unrealistically, I want Nintendo to step in and guarantee translation of DQ XI for 3DS.

I'd love the Metal Gear collection. Or just one of the recent MGS games maybe, but not getting my hopes up.

More realistically, I reckon it'll be PES and something else.

I'm interested in Touhou Genso Wanderer Reloaded – looks a bit Mystery Dungeon-like maybe? – but can't find anything significant/helpful about it online.

Hope Nintendo has a strong E3. This year has been fine, don't get me wrong, and I'm not short of games to play, but it would be cool to see some of the "shock and awe" of last year's releases return (a tall order I know...).

I want to be wowed again!

I picked up Death Road to Canada and immediately regretted it. Didn't like it at all.

Decided to give it another try and got hooked, I've now ploughed 30 hours into it in just a few days. I don't think I've ever had such a turnaround with a game before, it's great.

Also still playing my trusty 3DS. About 40 hours into Dragon Quest VII (so the beginning, ha!) and loving that too. The portable form factor and vignette style of play is a nice match.

Great stuff, looking forward to this one. Any news on a physical release?

I love my Switch but the sheer depth of RPG's on the 3DS means I still play it almost daily and with releases like this I can see that continuing for at least another year or two.

I love Etrian Odyssey but have never played a Persona game so didn't check out the first Persona Q. Was worried I wouldn't get the references.

Think I might give it a try anyway.

This is a bit of a head scratcher. On the one hand, if it allows games that couldn't possibly run on Switch to be played, then great – better to have an opportunity to stream them than nothing.

On the other hand, I'd always choose to actually own a game and not have to rely on fast internet connection to play it.

I wish they would have expanded on their reasons for this, whether it was coming to the West, etc, hopefully we'll find out more soon...

Three releases seems a bit excessive for this game but I've never played it so perhaps I'm wrong!

I'd love a new Fight Night on the Switch, the old PSP one was amazing.

Interested in this, might pick it up if the reviews are decent.

Nice. I used to have a WWII flight sim (I say sim, might have been more arcadey) on the Amiga but can't for the life of me remember its name. Loved it at the time though and would definitely be interested in checking this out if it's any good.

I understand they're doing something different for the next one which I'm sure will be great but I'd love another Xenoblade, really enjoyed the two I played.

I know it's quite different but my first thought when seeing this was wondering if Etrian Odyssey could yet come to the Switch with a similar system.

I would have preferred an AES-style console to be honest but yeah I'll take it.

I imported an American SNES back in the day (god knows how my electrician uncle got it to work on our TV) and had the original SF II, as well as Mario and a few other games.

Man, I loved SF II, it made a huge impression on me, and even though it's slower and clearly not as good as the other versions, it's always been my favourite for the nostalgia. I used to play against all the local kids on handicap because I'd gotten so good with all the practice. I fired it up again recently and was terrible at it!

@Nincompoop Hunger Games is a ripoff of the Japanese movie Battle Royale (as is this entire games genre really) – it's a good movie, worth watching!

I've never played a Ys game somehow, but have pre-ordered this one to give the series a chance. I've heard a lot of conflicting reviews - some people say it's mediocre some say it's excellent.

I still kinda want that portable one, even though everyone says its a bit rubbish.

Shame about the motion controls, I'm really not a fan of them personally and it puts me off buying a game. Still, I will likely get this regardless.

@Ludovsky yeah definitely. I loved Dragon Quest Builders and, don't get me wrong, still have a bit of a backlog to catch up on, but after the shock and awe of last year's releases it's a little underwhelming.

Still, as you say, can't wait for Octopath Traveler, that's my most anticipated release of 2018 so far – and roll on E3!

That's disappointing, I've found it a bit quiet with big compelling Switch releases lately so this was a big one to look forward to.

I'll definitely miss it but I imagine that the way they're doing things now probably makes everyone more money. I have no data to base this on, but I can't imagine that (with the obvious exceptions like Mario games) Virtual Console was ever really that popular, whereas the NeoGeo games for example are selling great.

Looking forward to killing some nazi's, really excited for this one. So glad that Switch is getting some mature (for want of a better word) games.

That's a bit of a blow. I can understand the Switch version taking longer if development on it started later but I was very much looking forward to the 3DS version.

Definitely interested. Would love an RPG Maker for Switch too, the keyboard support should help with entering dialogue.

Man, I wish Nintendo made more of the N3DS' SNES emulator, its so great playing the games on the go.

Tempted by this too but think I'll wait for the next iteration.

No curation method is perfect but I'd rather them err on the side of letting stuff through than be too strict and prevent us from playing some indie classics.

Generally, the bad games are roundly panned by critics and its quite easy to avoid the stinkers.

I always wondered how Doom and Skyrim sold on the Switch for them but never saw any news stories. Hopefully they did well so they continue to support it.

I bought both titles and will buy this too, can't wait.

Only the lack of wireless bothers me as I love to play tabletop with a joycon in each hand but will still probably pick this up if the reviews are good.
