Interested in this. Looks a little similar to the Long Dark, which I'm really hoping comes to Switch.

Can't see why they'd highlight Undertale since they already did but who knows I guess.

I'm not personally into Smash but find it really weird that they're not confirming if it's an updated port or a totally new game (the very fact that there's uncertainty points toward the former imo)

Good piece! I recently came to the same realisation and except for a few exceptions have stuck to physical only with Switch.

I'm actually really enjoying building a very modest collection, it's taking me back to my SNES days.

I also like the reassurance that I could sell them if some kind of financial disaster struck. I mean, they'd probably be way down the list of stuff I could sell but still, the option is there and makes me feel like I haven't thrown my money away.

I'm playing Dragon Quest Builders, I love it, also still chipping away at Xenoblade Chronicles 2 also.

@Jack_Goetz I think that they said they stopped these because there was nothing much coming out on Wii U so it got depressing.

Also wasn't it Tom that reinstated the feature before he left? Perhaps I'm mistaken.

Personally I really like them, one of my highlights of the week, doesn't seem lazy at all to me but each to their own I guess!

Love to see the 3DS being supported by third parties. Even though I love my Switch and will play this game on it when physical comes out, it's still a great little system and I take it out with me almost everywhere.

Y'know, I hardly had any issues with the audio. It only happened once for me. I wonder if it's because I played the entire game handheld and with headphones on. Whatever, glad it's fixed now.

Honestly, for what it is I think the price is really reasonable. It's a premium product.

I sold off all my physical SNES games years ago (I still kick myself!) but still kinda want this, and to start a new collection.

Would be handy to detail more about the differences between this and prior versions. I believe it runs at half the framerate (30 fps) and that they've introduced the ability to ride a sabre cub but I could be wrong on that.

Also would have been cool to know a bit more about how much Dragon Quest lore is integrated (the game follows on from the last boss in the first DQ right?).

Good, they can keep it ticking over with ports and the occasional remake, etc. Nintendo doesn't have to plough too many resources into the ageing little handheld to keep it a viable platform. Some more virtual console titles would help too.

I love my Switch, it's possibly the best console I've ever owned, but still play my 3DS almost daily. It's more handy to take around in my pocket and its library is fantastic. Currently playing through Dragon Quest VIII for the first time.

I've never actually played Golden Sun, really looking forward to it now.

Just pre-ordered it on Amazon for 35 quid, so not too bad. Delivery is April though, oddly. It'll be the first time I've ever double-dipped to get a physical version of a digital game I already own. Cave Story will likely be the second, when I finally get around to it.

I haven't collected physical games for many years but for some reason the Switch has found me building up a small, modest collection. I'm really drawn to owning the games on this system.

Loved the demo for this, can't wait to get stuck in. Probably my most anticipated game of 2018 so far.

I enjoyed the combat system, though to be honest I prefer Bravely Default's system of holding back an attack (I know there's not much difference between them).

Yeah, I think it shows in the sheer sense of joy one gets when experiencing this game.

I'm over 200 hours in, which for me is a huge amount of time in a game, and I haven't even played the DLC yet. With a master quest run-through, I'll probably get up to 300.

Surprised at such a high score, definitely going to give the demo a try now.

@link3710 Yeah I guess i was thinking that they'd have to equal both numbers combined to equal the profit but of course that's not the case, totally depends on parts, how much profit per unit and software as you say - good point.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE you reckon the sales will drop off suddenly this year?

I guess if the Switch really is going to replace the revenue from Nintendo's handheld AND console line, it has to do amazing numbers to be a success but so far I think it's going brilliantly.

With it being quite a divisive game I'd recommend watching a play through of the first level on YouTube or something to see if you like the look.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying its Rondo good, but yeah I enjoyed it very much, far more than most of the reviews I've seen would suggest.

@6ch6ris6 I've played most of them and genuinely feel like it holds up to the classics but appreciate that's not a popular opinion at all.

Can't wait. Man, this feels like such a good time for a new 2D Castlevania game on the Switch.

Perhaps get Mercury Steam on it. Admittedly I was one of the few people who loved the 3DS game but either way I reckon they've deserved another shot after their Metroid showing.

Definitely interested in this. Still play Shiren the Wanderer every now and then on the DS, would be interested to know how it compares to that.

@lillith yeah I think DKC1's graphics has aged pretty badly too, doesn't make it a bad game, of course.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE yeah I only played the demo and was novel enough but wouldn't buy it. That said, it seems to be a bit of a critical darling, with Eurogamer scoring it very highly too.

Surprised they didn't lean on Puyo Puyo Tetris more, what with Tetris being designed by a Russian and the game being so closely associated with Nintendo ...

Loved this and would be all over a sequel but I don't think I'll double-dip this time, feel like I've played it to death.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE that's exactly what I was hoping for too. Or if it's a longer wait, a 2D game would be good to tide us over, especially in a link between worlds style.

What an idiot though. I feel bad for someone losing their job and getting in trouble, especially at christmas, but I can't imagine how he thought this was acceptable.

I've already got MM1 and 2. Loved the first and spent a lot of time on it, the second was a bit too difficult for me to get into, but will have another crack.

Going to double-dip today, this story was actually a really helpful reminder. Such a low price and want to support a great developer.

Very skeptical of this happening but would be neat. I'd love to be able to play The Long Dark on my Switch. Really, I just want a port of the Long Dark so I can take it anywhere, rather than a wifi-required setup that will probably crash and stutter a lot.
