Re: Nintendo World Championships 2015 Qualifier Details Confirm Prizes and Limit of 750 Competitors Per Store

ZanderShepherd

One thing that bothers me. Why is it still called the World Championships if only US citizens can register? That cancels me out no matter what. Not that I would stand a chance or anything, but it's just lame that I can't participate solely because I'm from the Netherlands.
I know I know setting up qualification points all across Europe is an impossible task, but it's still lame

Re: Video: Did You Know Gaming? Explores the Fascinating History of the Wii

ZanderShepherd

This is why I don't like Microsucks and Clony, to release a non-functional device and a WiiMote with a ball on top once they saw it worked. Seriously, when I played Kinect it switched it's focus from me to the chair behind me, thinking it was me halfway through the game, and I couldn't get it to detect me. And the PSMove is really just a WiiMote with a ball. Nintendo hit the big one once again with the motion controls.

Re: Updated Documents Point to Multiple amiibo Restocks for North America

ZanderShepherd

Everytime I read how bad it is in America, I just can't believe how lucky I am to live in the Netherlands. Pre-orders sell out very quickly here too, but you've got at least a few days before you're too late. Do I ever see the rare ones in store? Almost never, no, but many aren't even as rare here. I've seen some Pit and Captain Falcon, and I even got Rosalina at a regular price from my local toy store when she was already sold out everywhere. I luckily have all the ones that I want, and I only paid extra for one of them. I just hope I'll be able to get Palutena too when she becomes available

Re: Feature: Here Are Our Fondest Kirby Memories

ZanderShepherd

My first Kirby game was Kirby Super Star Ultra. And I love that game. The different modes are amazing and a lot of fun to play. And to try and suck up every enemy to find new abilities was always fun. Since then, my Kirby love has shrinked a bit. My next Kirby game was Kirby Mass Attack, which was fun, but nothing special. Then came Kirby's Adventure Wii, which was fun, but didn't hold my attention past the first 5 worlds. Then I played Kirby's Adventure NES, same story. Then I tried out Kirby's Epic Yarn, which I personally didn't like all that much. I also have Kirby Fighters Deluxe, but I can't play it comfortably as the Smash Bros addict that I am. I still love Kirby though, and he'll always stay a part of my Nintendo history

Re: Tales of More Super Smash Bros. amiibo Pre-Order Woes and Cancellations Emerge

ZanderShepherd

I still can't believe how lucky I am to live in the Netherlands. Got Robin yesterday without a problem. Sure, there are rare amiibo here, but when you pre-order here, you do actually get them. Not to mention, I live on the countryside of the Netherlands. Rosalina was already going for €50 on Marktplaats (Dutch eBay), but my local toy store still had two of her!
Now I feel bad for having Rosalina and Robin for the regular price.

Re: Pirate Bay Co-Founder Unable To Experience The Joys Of NES Behind Bars

ZanderShepherd

Good. You don't deserve video games if you've done things like this. What you did is basically allow millions of people to straight up steal not just video games, but movies, music, you name it. You don't deserve that entertainment.

And let me clarify this: I am against piracy of media. However, I do understand and accept it if you download a game or movie that's no longer for sale. NES games or movies from the 80s that are nowhere to be found except overpirced on eBay, I understand why you pirate those and I accept that. It's either that or nothing, and nobody profits from them anymore anyway.
However, when you pirate modern games and movies, that you could buy for the regular price, then we have a problem. I know the infomercials are silly, but they're right. Pirating those is basically theft. It's those people's jobs to create those games and movies, and you just don't pay for them? I don't see the difference compared to stealing from a store. And the Pirate Bay willingly allowed this kind of stuff to happen. The creators deserve prison, and are just going to have to entertain themselves with some chalk on the wall.

Re: International StreetPass Week to Bring New StreetPass Games, a Free HOME Theme and 'Exotic' Mii Characters

ZanderShepherd

HAHAHAHAHA!!! KPN! HAHAHA!!! Seriously, I've been to many different local KPN hotspots over the last few months, and for some reason they all stopped working for me.

On a side note, I'm having trouble with all of Nintendo Zone. Even when I know I'm in a Zone, and the main menu does show internet connection bars, the Nintendo Zone icon doesn't light up and I can't connect to it. Also, StreetPass Relay doesn't seem to work at all. I don't know what's going on, is it something with my 3DS?

Re: Head Teachers in the UK Issue Warning to Parents on 18-Rated Games Being Played by Children

ZanderShepherd

In general I'm for this, as long as it happens in a good way. I agree that young kids shouldn't play 18+ games, I totally agree. However, I'm not sure the police is the right solution. And you have to make some borders. I know plenty of kids from 13 who play 18+ games, and while that's still a little young, it's already a lot less bad than when 8 year olds play them.

Re: Interview: Nintendo and Nd Cube on Bowser, amiibo and the Pure Luck of the Dice in Mario Party 10

ZanderShepherd

The car mechanic never really appealed to me. That's also why I skipped Mario Party 9. I have Mario Party Island Tour, but I really don't like it. The minigames are dull, the boards are boring, and it feels more like Wii Party Board Game Island than Mario Party.
I have also played MPDS and MP8, both of which I love, especially MP8. I still play that one very often. The boards are amazing, the minigames are clever, I just love it!

Re: The Nintendo 3DS is Now Four Years Old in Europe

ZanderShepherd

Really? It's been four years already? Honestly, I have only owned my 3DS for about 1,5 years now. I always told myself (since I was/am a teenager with limited money) that I would skip the 3DS and buy the next system in the series. Then Smash Bros and Pokémon Y got announced, and I got one secondhanded. And boy am I glad I did. Super Smash Bros, Pokémon Y and Omega Ruby, but also amazing titles like Kid Icarus Uprising, Tomodachi Life, the list never ends. Thank you my loyal 3DS, for the amazing 1,5 years you have given me so far, and even though you get a little more damaged everyday, with your missing rubber on the Circle Pad and slight damage to the top screen, we'll keep standing strong. With the amiibo pad on the way, along with some great upcoming titles, we have a whole road ahead of us

Re: Mysterious Murasame Castle's Takamaru Was Considered For Super Smash Bros.

ZanderShepherd

I honestly can't think of anyone I would want to see as a playable character. If we can go out of our way to include non-Nintendo characters, then I'd say Simon Belmont would be awesome. I'm also a big Daisy fan, but if you remodel Peach's Daisy colors to match her jewelry, then I'll be happy. Also, Gardevoir, but that's just a personal favourite
There are however a bunch of characters I would love to see as Assist Trophies, like Professor Layton, Tetriminos, Pauline with some Mini Marios (I made this combo up), the Flipnote Frog and Birdo.
And if I can say something really really really weird, Weegee

Re: Review: Pokémon Shuffle (3DS eShop)

ZanderShepherd

I did download it, but I already have Pokémon Link Battle and I like that better. Apart from it being a full unlimited game for €7,99 (not meant as critisism towards the micro transactions), I just find the gameplay more fun. You can move all the Pokémon on the field around freely, rather than be forced to make a move or do nothing. You can plan out your strategies a little bit more, and I like that. There's just more to it than seeing where a Pokémon can go, it's more about seeing where multiple can go. It's hard to explain, but I like it better, and I seriously recommend buying that too if you like this.

Re: Feature: Tales From the Front Line of amiibo Collecting

ZanderShepherd

OH MY GOD! THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS! I honestly don't get this. In my local toy shops, they have just as many Wii Fit Trainers, Villagers, Marths and Rosalinas as any other character. In fact, not a single Sheik or Captain Falcon appears to have been sold. I do live about half an hour away from the big city (I live in the Netherlands), but still. These stories just are unbelievable to me!

Re: Pokémon Shuffle Available to Download Right Now, for Free

ZanderShepherd

I already have Pokémon Link Battle, and I personally like that one better. In this one, you move the Pokémon, and the game immediately removes the row, or puts it back in its original position. I think it was more fun in Pokémon Link Battle, where you had a little more control over your combos. Not to mention, it's only €8. I'm not going to complain too much about the microtransactions, I just think it's silly when fans of the game can just buy Pokémon Link Battle for €8 and get a complete game

Re: Rumour: Rayman Could be Planned as DLC in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS

ZanderShepherd

@Inkling I know they said he was early in development, but think about it. They presented a brand new HD model of Mewtwo, and another model for the 3DS version. That was a completely unique model, which looked like it was almost, if not completely done. Why would they go through all the trouble of creating a new model, then use it in all the Mewtwo DLC promotion, only to then create a new model (which looks worse in my opinion). It just doesn't make any sense to do, and I don't think they did.

Re: Rumour: Rayman Could be Planned as DLC in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS

ZanderShepherd

A) The video has been removed from YouTube BY THE ORIGINAL UPLOADER
B) Mewtwo's render looks nothing like the model we've already seen, and considering they also use that model for all promotion, it's unlikely we'll see another model in the final version
C) Sonic: Insanely high fan request, Sega and Nintendo have becomen friends. Mega Man: Rich history on Nintendo and huge fan favourite. Pac-Man: insanely well-known and partnership with Bandai Namco. Snake: Hideo Kojima begged Sakurai on his knees for his inclusion. Why would they ever add Rayman? I thought Nintendo and Ubisoft were on (VERY) shaky ground?
This is fake, it's definitely fake. I honestly don't really care about Rayman in Smash anyway. If he was DLC, I would buy it, but I can live without it.
