The entire online service is a joke to begin with. They still haven’t given me a reason to pay those 20 or 35 bucks and I’m not doing so until they give me one.
If this is going to be a minor revision with no significant upgrade, then it will be fine. Something like a Switch mini or XL version.
If they are going for a Switch Pro to get more third party support and make exclusive software titles for them, similar to the New 3DS, they will be shooting themselves in the foot again. Seperating the user base is never a good idea.
If more details regarding this upgrade start to leak before the holidays end, it will also have a big impact on their sales.
I don’t understand why the hell someone would purchase a massive buttload of games and then don’t play them. What’s the point of it? Just finish a game and then purchase the next one. The games won’t disappear, they will (almost) always become cheaper.
I’ve finished over 400 games in my life and I never have more than 10 unfinished/unplayed games in my backlog. I wouldn’t want it any different.
@Ralizah @electrolite77 @DanteSolablood @dimi The new PlayStation chief stated in a fairly recent interview that he’s looking at possibilities for a new PlayStation handheld. He also explicitly states that he doesn’t want to seperate portable gaming from console gaming, but rather have them working together, which clearly hints at a hybrid system.
Could be standard PR talking, but it’s definitely a change from Sony’s previous boss who flatout stated that there’s no market for handheld gaming anymore.
Only a matter of time before Sony copies the Switch. There’s a good chance that they will make a better version of it as well. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if the PS5 is a hybrid console.
This article is biased as all hell and it doesn’t even make sense. Your subscription ends and so does the ability to use cloud saves. You renew your subscription and you can use cloud saving again.
In the meantime your local saves will always be there!
September 25th - Valkyria Chronicles 4 October 2nd - Mega Man 11 October 5th - Super Mario Party November 16th - Pokémon Let’s Go December 7th - Super Smash Bros Ultimate December 18th - The Walking Dead: The Final Season January 11th - Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition
The above are my purchases for the upcoming months. Some people make fun of Switch exclusive gamers, but I haven’t felt the need for another game system since I bought my Switch. Honestly don’t think that will happen anytime soon either.
Yes! About time. I don’t think I’ll purchase a collection again though, I’ve played them to death in the past. Any new entry is a day 1 purchase though.
If there’s someone out there who doesn’t know about this amazing franchise, this is literally the best way and time to get into it. The 4 games are all coming out within the last 4 months of the year and you’ve got sweet portability to play them late at night in bed.
One of alltime favorite video game franchises. The first game is still the best though. Hope that the 4th game tops it.
@OorWullie Yes, I was. I didn’t have a Switch at that point and I didn’t expect it to be a success in any shape or form.
Lesson learned though, don’t judge a book by its cover. The hardware is great and it managed to establish a fantastic library in 1.5 years on the market.
How difficult is it to give an exact date, Nintendo? This only throws concerns towards the consumer, because as of now it sounds like it will be a rocky service.
So many complaints in this thread. Switch has a crapton of quality upcoming games in the next 3 months, yet it’s never enough according to you people:
Valkyria Chronicles 4
Mega Man 11
Super Mario Party
Dark Souls Remastered
The Walking Dead Season 1-4
Diablo III
Pokémon Let’s Go
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom
Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition
A Hat in Time
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
There’s most likely a lot more that I’m forgetting. If there’s nothing that floats your boat, you’d probably be better off selling your Switch, because gaming might not be the right hobby for you anymore.
Don’t like this. There are definitely some great indie games on the Switch, but I’d rather see 2-3 quality releases a month as oppose to a parade of garbage.

I love you Konami barfs
Re: Feature: Why Pokémon: Let's Go Is The Perfect Entry Point For Pokémon GO Players
This game is just a warm up before the real game hits in 2019. Still looking forward to it though.

Where’s the EU update?

Re: Rumour: New Nintendo Switch SKU Planned For Late 2019
@CaptChaos They did the same with the 3DS and that system had a much higher install base at that point.

Re: Review: Super Mario Party - The Life And Soul Of The Party Once More
Currently has a 78 on Metacritic. I’m glad that it turned out great.
Re: Konami Launches Castlevania Portal Website With Info, History And Space For New Games?
This shouldn’t even be news. If new Castlevania games do come out, it will go to the PS4.
Re: Nintendo Switch Online Prepaid Cards "Selling Extremely Well", Says Major Japanese Retailer
Was to be expected. Nintendo doesn’t feel the need to improve it now.

Re: Golf Story Devs Celebrate One Year Switch Anniversary With Exclusive My Nintendo Gift
Golf Story 2 would be swell, but they have a lot of other options too. I’m all up for Tennis, Soccer, Basketball, Baseball or Bowling Story.
Whatever they decide to do, it’s a day 1 buy for me.
Re: Visual Novel Steins;Gate Elite Is Heading To The West On Switch In February 2019
Highly recommend this game. Personally going to wait for a drop in price, as I’ve played Steins;Gate already on Vita 3 years back.

A 40 minute panel and thats all that they reveal?

@bstie1198 I might actually buy it again to make a third game happen. The Velocity games are awesome.
Re: Gone Home - A Peerless Masterclass In Interactive Storytelling Comes To Switch
I’m a big fan of narrative games and visual novels, this game however didn’t do anything for me. It’s a 6/10 at best.

Re: Has Nintendo Accidentally Revealed The Entire Cast Of Super Mario Party?
This was already known though. You could easily see which characters they were from the silhouettes.
Re: Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams - Owltimate Edition Arrives On Switch This Month
@nagash That’s why hoarding games, especially digitally, is always a bad idea.
A gamer should never have over 20-25 unplayed games. It always bites you in the ass.
Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects - August 2018
Did you guys forget Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate?

Re: Sony Interactive Entertainment Asia President Says Switch Has Had A "Positive Influence" On Games Market
I’m sure Sony will release a similar hybrid system eventually. And I’m sure I’ll buy it, because I loved the Vita.
And if they don’t I’ll be more than happy as well, because the Switch is my alltime favorite system.

Re: Nintendo Download: 30th August (Europe)
Dammit I literally bought Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 3 days ago.😩😩😩
Re: id Software "Still Uncertain" If Rage 2 Would Work Ever On Nintendo Switch
@Findonovan95 Eh no. Just buy a PS4 if you want to play it. Switch has a great library already and would only benefit more from good exclusives.

Re: Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Won't Be Coming Out This Year After All
Take all the time you need, release it in 2020 if necessary and polish it to the max. There are too many games to play on Switch anyway.
Re: Nintendo Download: 16th August (North America)
@garydbz25
Valkyria Chronicles 4
Mega Man 11
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate
Dark Souls Remastered
Super Mario Party
Just to name a few. There’s no reason to complain at this point.
Re: Guide: The Best Metroid Games - Every Metroid Game Ranked
Errr Federation Force is also a spin-off.
Re: Nintendo Download: 9th August (Europe)
@kozaihod Damn son, do you juggle between 15 games or something? I always play 1-2 games and only when I finish one I buy the next one.
To each their own, I guess.

Re: Review: Salt and Sanctuary (Switch eShop)
@twztid13 Exactly. I doubt that anyone will read 3-5 reviews before purchasing a game.
Re: Review: Salt and Sanctuary (Switch eShop)

Switch version is also getting 8 and 9/10s from other reviewers.

PS4 version has an 84 Metacritic score out of 56 reviews. Don’t let this review influence your decision guys, it’s a fantastic game.
Re: Digimon Survive Officially Confirmed For 2019 Western Release On Switch

I’ll buy anything from this developer. Day freaking one!!
