A lot of good games! Looking forward to a bunch of them.
Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory looks pretty fun actually
Could be a good time waster kinda like the Persona Dancing games
No DDR at all from TGS 2020. 😩
Ni No Kuni Cross Worls was for mobile... 😒
Konami announced Edens Zero instead... 🙄
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 & MHS 2 = definitely must buy.
...but...but...Monkey B...Ball...😭
After about three years of disappointment at the lack of SMTV at TGS, this year I was finally sanguine. As for this year’s show, I have never really clicked with Monster Hunter, but think this time round I might actually rise to the occasion.
Didn't expect to see Shiren, pretty happy about that!
A-A-ANOTHER RHYTHM GAME?!?
I'll cut some slack tho, it's Kingdom Hearts, and most rhythm games are pretty fun
I do hope R-Type turns out well on Switch and isn’t a sloppy port of the other two versions. Really looking forward to that one.
Aleste was the only real “surprise” which I’m interested in, besides the big Nintendo titles.
Wow, I missed the fact that Shiren was coming. That was the final game I was considering getting for Vita. Guess I'll get the Switch version now!
Wow, quite a bit to digest there!
Meanwhile it looks like ACNH won TGS’s game of the year award. Was that mentioned here in NL already?
FE3H, Pokémon S&S and Ring Fit Adventures were the other Nindy-published “games of merit” they recognized.
With all the games lately, the poor NL staff never get a break!
Another finalist was a PS4 Atlus game, 13 Sentinals: Aegis Rim, which I’d never heard of but it intrigues me now.
Port to Switch Pro please! 😄
@Anti-Matter DDR has gotten stupid, anyway. When the game is so hard that it requires you to hold the bar, that’s silly. Might as well just play IIDX.
And Megaton Musashi looks like a fun homage to giant robo action! The combos seem a little too insane for enormous mechs, but we shall see. I’ve got Hardcore Mecha coming in October to tide me over for now.
@GrailUK I feel your pain...
In terms of new game announcements this was the worse TGS in a long time
I didn't know Yo-Kai Watch was still a thing.
And that's not all!
HAMSTER announced 18 more games coming to Arcade Archives over the weekend, bringing the total announced to 26. https://twitter.com/hamster_corp/status/1310236356715581440?s=21
The list of games, courtesy of the google translate app (names in bold are newly announced; apologies if the Japanese names are mangled):

Rabio Lepus
From the new batch I'm excited for Nova 2001, Arabian, Thunder Dragon, Rabio Lepus, (EDIT:) Rush'N Attack, and (the infamously hard) Gradius III.
There was more announced games for the Switch in general. We'll see if they get mentioned, I guess. (like Maneater)
Megaton Musashi omg i love it !!
Some1 know this will come to europe ? And when ?
@GrailUK yeah, would love a new monkey ball game and a remaster of 1&2
Megaton Musashi, shiren, zelda and two monster hunter games
I'm in heaven : D : D : D
They actually ALL interest me bar Gal Gun and the Kingdom Hearts Rhythm game. So that is a great turnout for me I guess!
@masterLEON Finally Green Beret! (And I adore Hipopo!!!)
All these weeb games look exactly the same.
@GrailUK I don't know why, but I had Green Beret confused with Taito's Front Line in my head. To us in the Western Hemisphere it's known as Rush'N Attack. And now I'm very excited for it!
Monster Hunter Rise looks sick. Love it.
Solid list of games, even if there's not much for me personally.
Altier Ryza 2 and Re:Zero for me!
@masterLEON Yeah, Russian Attack was ace (always loved the pun). What an amazing library this console has.
It's an okay list, only Monster Hunter Rise, Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, and Hyrule Warriors 2 caught my interest, everything else are either hit or miss to me.
What about Disgaea 6?
Megaton Musashi tops my list. The robots may be giant but the action reminds me of toy-sized robots from Gotcha Force.
The rise footage makes the game look a lot better than the trailer did, also a lot like world so hoping to see some more traditional parts of the game. Bottom line can’t wait it looks soooooo good!
The only thing that interests me is the Monster Hunter games
R-Type Final 2.... seriously, those visuals are looking insane.
@TG16_IS_BAE
Holding the bar while playing DDR is a must for me regardless of the difficulty level.
I have ever almost fell from playing DDR without holding the bar.
Holding the bar is very important to endure the most difficult part of DDR songs.
Also, i can sharpening my accuracy by holding the bar.
Monster Hunter Rise = GOAT contender.
So much new info revealed at TGS.
Oh man! Monster Hunter Rise looks AMAZING! Like I can't believe how good it looks. And I loved MH world.... So seeing this game, I'm way excited for March!
@Anti-Matter Yeah, strengthen your legs and core, and you won’t need the bar. I never used it and could play anything I wanted, singles or doubles, up to flashing 10’s, then abandoned the game once they started making everything silly.
@JaxonH Really excited for MH Rise, as I've always wanted to get into a MH game, but just couldn't get into any of the demos. This one really looks great so far. I have access to World through xbox game pass. Would you recommend playing that now or just waiting for Rise?
@Kanbei
I mean, Monster Hunter World is incredible. If you have access to that game, then ya, I’d say play it. That way you’ll actually know what you’re doing when you play MH Rise. The one thing about World is, it focuses on, well, the world. So the maps are incredibly immense and you have to track monsters by finding their tracks. But the maps can get really confusing because they’re just so big and the ancient forest in particular has like four stories or levels you have to pan through. It can be confusing. Thankfully your scout flies will lead you to the monster once you’ve found enough tracks.
But ya. I say go for it. It’s an incredible game and personally, my favorite game of all time. Not when it first released, but after the Iceborn expansion, it just became untouchable.
MH Rise looks even better though imo. Although the huge, lush environments of World are incredible in their own right, MH Rise uses smaller maps where finding the monsters doesn’t rely on tracking, and it seems much more action focused, Which makes sense because it’s designed as a handheld entry. Plus the new wirebug looks so dope with that verticality and versatile movement, and the palamutes are so awesome.
But ya, play World. Or wait for Rise. That’s up to you. But once you play one of them you’re going to want to play the other. The games are just that good.
One thing to keep in mind though is, the key to MH is finding a weapon you like and learning it properly. Gaijin Hunter has weapon tutorials on his YT. There’s a training room accessible via your felyne housekeeper in your room in MH World. Take the opportunity to try a few weapons and see which one clicks, then watch a tutorial for that weapon and learn the proper combos and moves. If you don’t know your weapon you’re just going to be faffing about when fighting the monster, and that won’t result in a very fun experience.
Thanks for the info!
Ya'll still missing Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV plus its expansion pack coming to Switch this Winter alongside Ryza. @Liam_Doolan
The game is one of the best Grand Strategy franchises out there. First time we finally getting it on Switch in the West (with quite a few already out in Japan only.. boo KT for their many Japan only Switch ports).
@Lindhardt
It’s gonna destroy Pokémon. Didn’t you know. 😅
No good games this time again i guess...except for hyrule warriors
thrash over thrash over another thrash
Really nice to see the comeback of shmups continue at this TGS. R-Type, Aleste, DeathSmiles, Cotton, Darius Cozmic Revelation... 2021 will be great.
DISGAEA 6😁 DISGAEA 6😁 DISGAEA 6😁 DISGAEA 6😁 DISGAEA 6😁 DISGAEA 6😁 DISGAEA 6😁 DISGAEA 6😁
