Re: Review: Cave Story+ (Switch)

Windy

My 3rd copy of Cave Story which i got from Amazon for 23 bucks. My Favorite version is the 3d classic looking one on 3ds. I would rate this one a 7. However I have played the game. For anyone who hasn't played I would just say this. Pick it up. Its a great sidescroller/platformer. Probably best to get the cartridge too unless they lower the price on the Digital Download which to be honest should be like 10 dollars and no higher. Not really a need to play for people who played it already unless you really want to do it again like me.

Re: Monster Hunter: World Confirmed for Rival Platforms, is Skipping Nintendo Switch

Windy

Here we go. 3rd party jumping ship so soon. Im sorry but E3 was not good. No 3rd party support even showed up for Nintendo. I will stick with it myself. If Nintendo goes down. I go down with them. Ive had my fun for years and the ride with 3ds has been amazing. Was hoping the Switch ride would be amazing but for us older gamers the future isnt looking so bright. So far the Switch ride has been amazing with Zelda but I find myself uninterested in just about the rest of the line up. I am interested in more of the indie titles coming up than the retail games. Capcom picked a perfect time to do this. They will be hosting a bigger install base, so I really cant blame them. Its business. Something big needs to happen after the E3 smoke and mirrors we got. Whose going to step in?

Re: Nintendo Download: 15th June (North America)

Windy

@World I definitely want Airport Hero Osaka but I'm so broke right now and I've had the worst Fathers day of all time...........My Wii bit the dust. It won't load at boot. I played Muramasa for like 4 hours Night before last. Went to continue today and it just won't start. What a terrible Fathers day! Worst ever! I have tried everything. Unplugged it for hours, just reboot after reboot. I'm pretty sure it's done. I even have 4 sets of component and av cables I switched out.

First system to ever die on me. ***Sadface*** anyone got an extra Wii hanging around they don't need?

Re: MercurySteam Elaborates On How It Came To Work On Metroid: Samus Returns

Windy

@Luna_110 I'm not a huge Metroid Fan either but I'm really excited for this game and the company Making the game. I thought they did an excellent job with Castlevania on 3DS.

I too have a backlog back to Wii and PlayStation 2 myself. I have just recently been able to jump in and go through it. I beat Muramasa a couple days ago on Wii. If anyone hasn't played that I highly recommend getting it for Wii or play it on Wii-U. Awesome!

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's Big Switch and 3DS Reveals at E3 on Day One?

Windy

@WaveBoy I actually thought Nintendo's presentation was one of the most if not the most entertaining E3 presentations ever. But if you ask my wife. (hates videogames) it was like watching paint peel from a wall. I guess to each their own. You know if I could afford it I would also have a PlayStation 4. But with a 3DS and Switch I can't afford all 3. They are all very good. 3DS is still my main gaming console. But I'm hoping the Switch will eventually fill in that gap. To me the 3DS is the best console ever made and I'm glad it still has a ton of life left in it.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's Big Switch and 3DS Reveals at E3 on Day One?

Windy

Does anyone else feel that nintendo doesnt exactly have the 3rd party support which its claiming for Switch? Its a new system but all Ive been hearing lately along the internet again is how the Switch is under powered. All I can think is here we go again.

I thought the show was great and Nintendo was very impressive. What I wasnt impressed with was all these 3rd parties which have supposedly jumped on board. I am absolutely tickled to death about the Starlink Announcement. Been waiting for a game like that for a longtime. Well we still have 2 days But I dont think we are going to know how 3rd parties effect the switch until next years E3, maybe even 2 E3 events from now.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's Big Switch and 3DS Reveals at E3 on Day One?

Windy

@WaveBoy They still have a couple days to surprise us with. It can happen. But as far as cutting edge software on other systems in a way I kind of agree with you. But, the New Mario odyssey will be Cutting edge as it will be different from any Mario game ever made. Also we have already had a cutting edge title no other system will ever get and thats Zelda Breath of the Wild. Heck Xenoblade 2 will be cutting Edge for RPG Fans. There will also be other cutting edge titles for Switch along the way. Now how I agree with you I think is the lack of 3rd Party support Nintendo claims to have backing them. Nintendo themselves are carrying the Load again. Like they have pretty much since the GameCube. Now I think we are in for a treat with Metroid on 3DS. Castlevania on 3DS was awesome and totally a game which seemed misunderstood and underrated. It will be a treat. You sound a bit like me at times though and have this hope that they succeed. I think with Switch they will. To be honest in comparison, Nintendo to me had a better 1st day than Microsoft or Sony. I did see a couple PS4 games I was very impressed with and was wishing they were coming to Switch. (Life is Strange and the Final Fantasy 14 expansion) of course we would need Final Fantasy 14 on Switch to get an expansion. If they will ever port Dragon Quest X to Switch I can forget about Final Fantasy 14.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's Big Switch and 3DS Reveals at E3 on Day One?

Windy

Really good E3 for nintendo so far. I would like to see Dragon quest 1 and 2 Heroes get a date for North America. It would also be Nice to see Dragon Quest X and Dragon Quest XI get an announcement for North America. I know thats asking alot. Next I would like to see maybe a Indie Sizzle Reel for upcoming indie/Eshop titles. Im hoping Kemco will continue to make Retro RPG's for 3DS and maybe even bring some to Switch. Now im really asking alot lol. I like the look of Xenoblade 2 although I feel they should have kept the Battle system from the original it was fast, original and fun. Weird that they took it out. Oh well im sure Xenoblade 2 will be awesome. Mario Odyssey looked great and I was absolutely thrilled about the Announcement of Starlink from Ubisoft. I still feel like we arent getting enough 3rd party announcements and that the Switch might be in that same old Nintendo Software funk where Nintendo Carries the load for AAA software titles. I guess theres nothing wrong with it weve been going through it now for a few systems. The 3DS had an out of this world 3rd party support im hoping the switch can follow that road map. It will take a year or 2 to know for sure.

Re: Nicalis Confirms Tiny Barbarian DX And Ittle Dew 2+ For Switch

Windy

Sweet more 4.99 game for 19.99 from Nicalis. Got to love that! Just kidding. Definitely getting little Dew 2 never got to play the first one. Will wait on Barbarian and see how that goes. I don't know why but I'm picking up my 3rd version of Cave Story this week. Hope the Switch version is nice.. I just thought that Amazon Prime price of 23.99 was cool for the Cartridge.

Re: Battle Chasers And Sine Mora EX Are Getting Physical Releases On Switch, At A Cost

Windy

Yes paying more for inferior versions! That really floats my boat. Omg I should have got a PS4 and Nintendo has lost their ever lovin minds. But im stupid enough to pay for it. I guarantee one thing. I wont be buying near what I bought for 3DS. Android Games for up to 4 times what they cost in the Android and Apple Markets then Cartridges more expensive for inferior versions compared to everyone else. This deal gets better all the time. I especially love the 79.99 controllers. Thank god for Amazons 20% off every new cartridge for Prime members. So Amazon will get my money.

Re: Microïds Confirms Six Games for the Nintendo Switch

Windy

@SyFyTy hahahaha. Games have been a discussion in our house for years. My wife isn't a gamer. Would love it if she was. But years ago I really went overboard playing EverQuest. So I made a deal that if I was needed for anything I would hop off. It's worked out for all these years. I actually have cut way back on gaming. I have more time than ever and only play about 10 hours a week now. Back then it was bad from the time I got up till bed. Plus I worked and played pretty much all my time off. It was pretty crazy.

Re: Editorial: The Nintendo Switch, E3 and Its Opportunities for Quick Wins

Windy

I was surprised that Pokkén was announced week before E3. It's cool and all we know about it now. My guess was we were getting a Pokemon announcement at E3 anyway. I'm just surprised they didn't save it for the show. But the past few years Nintendo hasn't been big on Surprise announcements at E3. So this year probably won't be any different. I really want to see more Retail games announced. We are getting hammered with Digital content and it feels very much like we are forced to download rather than picking up cartridges. There just feels like over the next year not much in retail releases. Hopefully E3 can show more of that. I've also been annoyed at the fact that Android ports cost up to 4 times more on Switch. I don't think that's going to change you either get it or you don't, or hope a port your interested in will go on sale. Anyway it should be fun whether it's info we know or we get some new tidbits.

Re: Microïds Confirms Six Games for the Nintendo Switch

@cheonsacz Definitely Disney's Magical World on 3DS is just good old fashion fun. Very well put together which any Disney fan and a fan of Open World RPG's would enjoy. It has some minor Sim aspects to it as well by running the restaurant but I find that I'm hardly there to run it lol.

OK I installed Club. Gear to my Samsung phone. The game absolutely flies on my phone. I opened up the first set of New tracks and bought a new car. The game will be a wonderful edition to the Switch. I just hope they Don't Price Gouge us to bad like they did with the Rally racing game on 3ds which had about 50 buyers and still sits there at 39.99. Talk about stubborn. They would rather see it die before they lower the price. The game costs 1.99 on the android market btw. Club. Gear actually looks like it could be fairly expensive as they don't sell the game. They sell cars and they don't come Cheap. They run 9.99 each. For myself I would get it if it's priced at 29.99 or under. With online play it will be great fun. Any higher and I would like a retail release. But the Switch right now isn't doing many retail releases.

Re: Microïds Confirms Six Games for the Nintendo Switch

Windy

@Whopper744 do you have Disneys magical world on 3DS? You guys would love that game. I like the first game a bit better than the sequel but both are really good open world RPG games with a huge amount of Disney characters to interact with.

Cant wait for Club.Gear it runs really slow on my samsung tablet so im downloading to my phone right now to make sure there there is a difference. Graphically I think it could be a little better and hopefully on Switch it will be so. Even for a android game I didnt think the graphics all that great. I play Real Racing 3 and GT Racing on my tablet and phone and both of those are really top notch racing games with excellent graphics. Also cars seem to cost 9.99 each for Club. Gear pretty much how they do it on Android. I hate that aspect of android gaming. Cant just sell the game and be done with it. They have to sell you parts and items and milk ya. I have a buddy who once spent over 500.00 dollars in 1 game. Crazy

Re: Microïds Confirms Six Games for the Nintendo Switch

Windy

@joey302 That would be sweet for an atari collection all converted to HD. I had a very large atari collection myself. But my dad thought selling it at a garage sale years ago was a good idea. In 1983 or 84 I had just moved out and left a couple boxes with my name on them in my parents garage. My dad had a gArage sale one weekend and went through my boxes which included my atari 2600 and 100+ games. He sold the entire set for 10.00 dollars. I was so mad! I never really attempted to rebuild it though.

Re: Microïds Confirms Six Games for the Nintendo Switch

Windy

@joey302 Definitely picking up 5 out of 6 of these games I'm really excited about the racing game which I'm downloading right now on a tablet I have. I really prefer a controller though but it looks great. I was hoping to go too E3 this year but my son has to work so I'm going to just watch from home in Las Vegas. If you would like to exchange friend codes email me at [email protected] would be fun to hookup on some MarioKart sometime

Re: Microïds Confirms Six Games for the Nintendo Switch

Windy

@joey302 haha im 52 and I loved a game on 3DS called Disneys Magical world. But what people dont realise is that its an open world action RPG. Most people think its a sim game. But it has a kiddie theme. My wife makes fun of me too. Keep on gaming Joey!

Edit: welcome to the Geezers gaming club lol

Re: Microïds Confirms Six Games for the Nintendo Switch

Windy

@Spoony_Tech I'm all over gear club. Actually every single title here interests me. I'm so happy with this announcement. I wish that Gameloft would also join in and bring their games to switch. They used to do quite a bit with Nintendo.

Edit: actually not much interest in Blacksad but the rest looks good. Of course prices may matter too. They have taken price gouging to a new level on the Switch Eshop so far. Less than 6 dollar Android games for up too 19.99. Of course they are better on Switch with a controller and all so we will have to see. Im shocked that the Rally game on 3DS has never once got a sale. Its a 1.99 android game they sell for 39.99 in the 3DS eshop. I wish they would do a complete price change on that one. Hardly anyone has bought it, so I guess they would rather see it die then sell copies at a lower price.

Re: Bulb Boy is Bringing Surreal Horror to the Switch eShop This Summer

Windy

I'm not going to pay more than 5.99 for this if at all on Switch. Another 2.99 or less Android game that will more than likely be 12.99 on Switch. I seriously don't like the way things are going on Switch. Hope E3 will change all that and put me at ease. I was wishing last night that I had Bought a PS4 instead While watching my son Play Final Fantasy 14 online. I just don't see Switch getting that kind of game in North America. I'm going to hang in there. The 3DS took some time too. But all these Indie announcements and No AAA 3rd party announcements has me a bit worried at this early stage.
