Aw heck yeah! I've been waiting for a Streets of Rage movie for a log while! And who knows! Maybe the success of these movies will convince SEGA to revive Streets of Rage.

Oh and everyone who assumes that video games can never make good films, we're never going to find out how to make good video game movies if we don't try. Maybe we need to make them the same way we make movies based on songs and poems (Little known fact: The classic film The Nightmare Before Christmas was based on a poem.)

The most interesting thing at play here is the suits that the new Sentai Rangers wear are pretty chill.

I feel like people would've liked this if Nintendo either:
A. Released an actual Metroid in the recent past
B. Not called it a Metroid game
or
C. had it star the actual protagonist of Metroid, as opposed to some interchangeable space marines

There are pros and cons to using scores:
Pros:

• Allows the audience to see what you think of a game at a glance
• Allows sites like Metacritic to get at least how much you loved or hated a game

Cons:

• Incredibly ripe for misuse and misinterpretation
• Since the internet is filled with idiots who only read the score of the review, 95% of your complaints will come from the score, not the words attached to it.

@bbve Yes, but that was built from the ground up to do so. In order for an episodic game to work, it has to be built that way from the start, not made a whole and cut up into chunks. Otherwise, the game's pacing will seem sloppy and all over the place.

Not about the article itself but something you said in it:
"Will Hitman's episodic approach pay off?"
Short and obvious answer: NO.
Longer and less obvious answer: It won't because it was a game that was initially a whole game, but cut up after the fact. In order for an episodic game to work, it has to be designed from the ground up to be episodic.

@PlywoodStick It is true that video games are capable of things that movies aren't like nonlinear progression, but that doesn't mean that video games can't be movies. They just have to be adapted differently than comics or books. Instead, adapt the movie like people adapt historic events where characters are added and changed to be more compelling.

I'd complain about Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire not being on the list (it's actually one of my all time favorites) but I'm going to be honest with myself: It's not very good. I still love it, but it's not a very good game.
