It's sad that the truth is so buried in today's world by corporate bulls***... I can understand not allowing people to disclose upcoming projects, but operating procedures like he described should not be private information in the least.
Oh, and for something like Captain Rainbow, screw marketing. That game markets itself. Word of mouth will make that game viral just by doing it in the first place. That game. Is. Crazy. (Also, they could, you know, buy the translation efforts of the fan groups that have done such work in the first place...)
To the repeated remarks about 'IT NEEDS TO BE VOICED' can I please point them to Crunchyroll? No. It doesn't need voiced. In fact, I never EVER leave on the dubbed voices if I am given the option. NEVER! I use the original language. What needs to be done, culturally, is for people to recognize that something should be kept in its native language, and simply translated across text for us to understand.
The only game I've played that I'm kinda glad there's an English option for is Bayonetta, simply because it's heavy plot text during action crap I have to focus on. Outside of that, all those RPGs I've played, the first thing I do is look for a way to turn off the annoying English voices and get back the Japanese voices for which the game was ~DESIGNED~ for.
It's still in very early stages, but Mario Maker is inspiring many of us in the Wii Mario modding scene to take action and bring what we have to a point of accessibility. Best of all, you will still be able to play it on a WiiU with a legitimate copy of the NSMBW.
Also, the 'winner' lost by 1000 points. And I'm surprised they didn't have a segment where they showed them the 'trick to winning' (the white square trick)
The comments made on the internet do not cease to amuse. And some of the clear touch-phobic people replying to me have obviously never been to a furry convention, where most people understand the broad scope of friendly touch, and where most things are not sexual.
Note: I don't give a damn about the guy in the topic, my words have nothing to do with whatever he did or didn't do. My words are just a voicing of concern over public shaming rather than proper communication with the other person. Just because I'm a host doesn't mean I'm above the other person. Just be direct with me if something's bothering you. Generally I can tell what the range of acceptability that sort of thing is with each person, but it's a matter of that one off-case where someone decides you wronged them and instead of approaching you directly, they spread rumors that people inflate to 100-times the negative implications. :<
To those saying "Hell if you'll touch me!": You aren't using your brains and are assuming I don't either. I'm preeeeetty sure I could tell touching your type would be a bad idea, mmkay? But on the same note, keep your nose out of my business with others who have different views. Don't speak for them.
I kinda agree with the above poster. As someone who does event hosting of his own as a sort of entertainer, and who also struggles with finding someone to date, I dread having my attempts at flirting be called 'sexual harassment'. I know some people are polyamorous unquenchable perverts, but the thought of being lumped into that category because I happen to flirt with the wrong person is a very scary one.
Some people freak out over a light hug, while others have no issues with a shoulder rub and back scratching. Then there's those that'll act like it's all okay to your face and then pooooooooooooooooopypoooooooooooop-talk behind your back about how much of a creeper you are. Is it really so hard to communicate these things, women? :<
Starbound feels weird compared to Terraria. It'd be neat to have Terraria on the 3DS though. Especially with the way people could do multiplayer at group events. Super fun.
"I like to create gameplay mechanics more than I do stories."
Screw you, Miyamoto, get out of the industry!
To clarify, I'm simply tired of his outlook that story isn't part of the equation. Because really, it's obvious he doesn't care about such things. But a series like Star Fox really NEEDS to have story. A series like Metroid really NEEDS to have story. And even games like Pikmin really NEED to have story. And let's face it, Pikmin's story is extremely weak and lame.
There's so much more potential for each of those series if someone else was in charge who understood the value of story as part of the overall picture.
I'm the first official Wizards Pokemon Tournament champion in the oldest age division. I own all the original first editions. And those cards are pretty much unplayable in this modern environment with my tournament deck having zero chance whatsoever.
For those who enjoyed Dragon Warrior 7, give "Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky" a go. It's absolutely amazing in terms of the depth of the world. The NPC interaction is the main thing I liked about DW7, and Trails in the Sky really scratched that itch for me.
Also, why do they have to re-translate everything? Does this game somehow have a different script from PS1's DW7? Game makers are weeeeird. Why wouldn't they just reuse the script? Heh.
Yeah, didn't read a bit of this, just the topic title. I'd love to see some new ideas applied to the Star Fox genre. Ship combat / dogfights can only go so far on their own. That's why people like the vehicle combat in [CoD type title], it's not ALL there is to them.
Price will make or break this one for me. This is NOT a full-price game, it's barely even an indie-price game no matter how much 'shiny' they put on it or how many levels they stick in. I'd already cringe at $20, personally.
I'm sorry but this thing's flexibility pales when you have had your hands on something like "Reggie" (The thing that helped make Newer Super Mario Bros Wii) — Fact is, they just plain don't have enough options. I want to make any level from NSMBW, not any level from SMB-classic. Eww-gag.
Yeaaaaah. Sounds pretty dull, if you ask me. I like the world, the characters, the potential. But Nintendo doesn't care to make use of them. It's a shame.
I'd much rather have a new Star Fox Adventures style game, or TPS/Open-World game.
