Update [Thu 14th Jan, 2021 01:30 GMT]: With less than 30 days until the game's release official release, Bandai Namco and Tarsier Studios have now released the demo for Little Nightmares II. It's a 1.8 GB download.
Original article [Thu 10th Dec, 2020 00:05 GMT]: The Little Nightmares II Twitter account has revealed a "Wilderness demo" (out now on Steam) will be made available on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 "early" next year.
This will give you a chance to try out this "charming" platform horror adventure game before you buy the whole thing - something we always appreciate when it comes to third-party releases on Nintendo's hybrid platform.
Little Nightmares II was due to arrive on the Switch this year, but in the end, was delayed until 11th February 2021.
At the time, the development team said it wanted to spend more time with the game to ensure it could create the best possible experience for its passionate fanbase.
Will you be trying out this demo when it shows up on the Switch eShop early next year? Leave a comment down below.

Awsome I have been waiting for a demo.
Played the first one on pc and loved it.
Might try the demo if it's already on Steam, but will probably buy the sequel on Switch.
-hopefully the load times are better than the first 🤞
@Kimyonaakuma Yeah, the load times for the first game on Switch were awful. To the point that I got frustrated and gave up before really getting too far into the game.
The first game is so good.
Im picking it up on the PS4.
I would have love to get them for the switch. But I already picked up the original on PS4 before the switch was even a thing.
I like the original but not enough to double up on the switch version.......so I might as well continue the series on the PS4 (OCD just wont let me have part of a series on one console, and the other on another console)
COOL! I recently bought the first one on Switch and am enjoying it so much more than expected. I'm not typically a fan of this sort of game (unimpressed by Inside, for example) but Little Nightmares is really enjoyable for me.
Only disappointment are the long loading times. Wish they would have patched that by more.
Wow, that trailer was terrific. Looks like they've significantly increased the scope of the game.
Haven't even finished the first game yet. But still looking forward to it.
Got halfway through the first game, and stopped as I found it way too freaky
Better controls and no loading times... hope the demo will demonstrate those optimization
Love the first game; Hope the sequel improves on the formula and patches those dreadfully long load times.
Best February I remember, with this LN2, Mario 3D World, Persona 5 Strikers and Bravely Default 2. And the next month, Monster Hunter Rise. My wallet...!
Great to hear. Still dipping into the first, picked it up on sale last December for next to nothing.
@BenAV Eurogamers preview article said that loading times we're MASSIVELY improved on PS4. So hopefully that carries over to Switch as well.
Load times are VASTLY improved by the way everyone. But you can always play the demo to check for yourselves
A part of me wants to download the demo to try the game out but another part of me doesn't want to spoil the game for myself. I'm already double dipping on day 1 for the PS4 and Switch. As others have said, I hope the load times are improved from the first game for the Switch version. I guess I'll try the Switch demo to check load times and see how it looks.
What does everyone have with the load times. I don't remember them being that bad. Even So, the Demo is worth trying out
@Nintendo4Sonic You obviously didn't die as much as the rest of us then. Loved the game, but I truly sucked at a couple of sections (usually involving a jump/grab) due to the depth 'mis'perception. So yeah, watching the game reload for almost an entire minute after death was rather infuriating. As I said, I loved the game so the pain was worth it. Bring on LM 2!
I tried this. It was beautiful. And creepy.
Hope it's better than the first one. That demo convinced me NOT to buy.
The game certainly seems to be AMAZING, love the atmosphere, the gameplay, everything. However, in handheld at least the game looks pretty blurry... to the point I couldn't figure out where the traps were, and so. Once you get into the house, though, it really is fantastic.
Also it crashed once, with a black screen it wouldn't away until I restarted the game. I hope they fix the issues by the time it comes out.
Hmm had this pre-ordered before the demo was even announced. But still time to try it!
in Europe and North America Bandai Namco is giving the PC version of the first one for free via Steam
I don't know why, but I thought "aha, gotta download that one IMMEDIATELY... after commenting that I gotta download it, mentioning that I do not know why I comment first.
Anyway, this is one of the very rare cases where I pre ordered the collector's edition because of how much I loved the previous game (of which I have the collector's edition on PS4 still, and the physical on Switch as well). I do however NOT like its long load times and often cheap instant deaths though. So it's good that there's a demo now that I can still change or cancel my order in case of it being bad. I miss those days where demo's usually came out BEFORE the full games. That is both a way of showing faith in your own product, and of building more trust with the customer. Good.
@Shambo reminded me of the good old days of PlayStation magazine and the demo discs. Being young I had little money back then so those demos were my game collection
I'm downloading now. Lets see if the demo convinces me to buy it.
I played the demo and I am happy to report that there is almost no load time between deaths, which is a MASSIVE improvement over the original game which had horrible load times, especially when dying. Definitely a day one purchase. much like the first game though it is not super crisp in handheld mode but it definitely still looks great.
