Triangle Strategy, the latest HD-2D release from Square Enix, is now only a few weeks from release. Pleasingly, though, it was confirmed in the latest Nintendo Direct that a Prologue demo is live now on the eShop that'll give us a good taste of the game.
As you can see in the official details below you get the first three chapters, with save progress then transferring over to the full game.
The tactical RPG TRIANGLE STRATEGY is almost here, and a new demo that lets you play from Chapter 1 to the end of Chapter 3 is available now in Nintendo eShop. Save data from the demo can be transferred to the full game once purchased. The protagonist Serenoa and his allies will be engulfed in the conflict among the three nations.
If these chapters are anything like those we had in the original demo last year, that could be quite a lot of playtime to get acquainted with this one's take on isometric tactics.
We've already got this downloaded; are you planning to try it out?

Bad name, good gameplay, greater art style.
I'm still just going to wait till the full game is out before starting. Don't want to get too into it now then have to stop and wait for launch.
That's a LOT of free content for something I plan to buy anyway. How big is this game?
I think we've officially hit a point where there is such a thing as 'too many demos'. Square Enix just can't get enough of them apparently.
A game in search of a name if there ever was one
Okay so can I transfer all the progress from the old debut demo to the new prologue one? I don't want all those time I play wasted.
Title is name-dropped in the lyrics of the game's main theme song. Safe to say y'all are stuck with it, lol.
@Specter_of-the_OLED Not really, because that early demo was far earlier in development and those chapters weren't the start of the game, they just said at the time it was 'some way into the game' and an early look.
This new demo is the final game, with the first three chapters (different content from last year's demo) included.
A bit conflicted since octopath was somewhat disappointing but 3 chapter demo is a good way to change my feelings about the team.
Welp...this might take awhile.😅
Man, I love 3d pixel game like this. Octopath was a masterpiece, so I hope this too! Though I dont know anything about this game yet
This is the best timeline to be a srpg fan....so happy...also not enough time to play everything....I need a clone...
Highlight of the Direct for me!
I know I'm getting it anyway so not really any point for me but cool. I'll just wait for the full game, dropping it for a month would just make me want to start over.
I have been getting interested in this game, so I’ll be giving this a try.
I haven’t really played many games like this. I guess the closest may be Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle but that is a very different atmosphere and not a real story.
I tend to have a hard time getting through very long games and RPGs tend to be long. I also tend to get bored with combat in RPGs. I think tactical combat may resolve this issue for me. I’ve considered trying fire emblem three houses but I think it may have too much “other stuff” outside of battles for me (I’ve never played any fire emblem games).
I am curious if triangle strategy will have an interesting mix of story and engaging combat that I may like it.
I’ll give it a shot, sounds fun and could get me into this style.
Loving it so far! Changed to Japanese voiceovers, so much better. The combat feels great so far, and it brings the same old school charm that Octo did.
Yes yes YES! I needed this. I'm still on the fence about this game.
Super excited for this! Will start the demo maybe two weeks out or less so I don’t have to wait long when I hit chapter three. Happy I get to play this early, preordered this long ago.
I love how they never put links to things like this...
I'll give the demo a try, but am not expecting much given how bland Octopath's writing was and and tedious it's gameplay was.
I appreciate this games existence and appeal, but personally strategy RPG games aren't usually my vibe.
Now what I really want is Octopath Traveler 2 asap!
... Wun can only hope.
I'm expecting them to also make this into a series, I wish they would've given the series a better name, like Trifecta.
Maybe this game could've been something like Trifecta Principle (based off the convictions mechanic).
Super excited for this game though and happy we get to play some of it early, it's beautiful.
Free demos are always appreciated! I'll check this game out eventually.
