I sure hope this is good. Advance Wars is, by specific insider accounts, truly dead and buried for the foreseeable future, so if this strikes out then it's going to be an even longer wait for Wargroove to pick up where it left off.
Absolutely hilarious that Japan is complaining about something like this. Japan has had it too good for years. They can take one for the team for once.
If there's anything to actually get upset about that matters, it's that only four games have online play and they don't include Street Fighter Alpha 2 or the other two Street Fighter III games.
It took me a year but I finally 'get' this game. That is, I now understand the goal. Now I'm working out the most efficient ways to get four of a single character and turn them into my squad of elite, yet overspecialized enforcers.
I don't have any issues with the current graphics. It's all it needs to be and nothing more. I'd rather they try not to make it especially flashy like a lot of people seem to want. They probably don't have the budget for it anyway.
Also, it's extremely telling how the very first thing they showed with Mega Man 11 is gameplay, unlike Mighty No.9 which showed off concept art first.
So this long-lost game will finally be published on Switch, but only in limited physical copies with no digital release and only in Europe? What kind of business model is this?
There's two things I'm looking forward to for the coming year, particularly on its first anniversary: 1. Certain big third parties still putting out public statements that betray a lack of faith in Switch despite all indications showing strong success and future promise for it. 2. Every game news source agreeing to quit bringing up the dead horse that is the Wii U in relation to the Switch. We get it already.

This game is one of the favorites of the poverty gaming scene and deserves more attention. I like to think of it as Street Fighter II Champion Edition from another dimension. The only Dreamcast game I want on Switch right this moment is Chu Chu Rocket. I didn't give it a chance back then and I only learned somewhat recently that it's a perfectly designed 4-player game. The kind that Switch should be inundated with.
@jpfan1989 That's the impression I got. It's not so much a promotion as it is Charles Martinet just entertaining himself. Especially in this earlier press conference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIzwSaj7B08
@BLP_Software If they could accomplish this in Switch's first year, imagine what they'll be able to do in its fourth and fifth. Compare first-year Xbox 360 and PS3 games to what came out in their sunsets.
It's a good thing Hamster tends to include both Japanese and US versions of arcade games in their releases, because games like Undercover Cops and Perfect Soldiers deserve the best versions for modern re-releases.
@AyeHaley The people who reply to their own tweet containing something they don't own to advertise something unrelated are the worst kind of content sycophants. They can't earn their own visibility so they take from others to benefit themselves. Infringement of content by aggregation websites for profit is getting out of control—largely because Twitter is doing very little if anything to stop it—and it's no better when individuals do it.
Don't you just hate it when someone gets a popular tweet (usually with content they didn't create) and then they leverage their newfound visibility to push their own agenda that has nothing to do with it?
I think the worst part is that Sonic Forces was one of the first games to be specifically announced for Nintendo NX, and it has the worst performance of all versions.
I struggled with going back and forth between using the pointer controls and the button controls in the Galaxy games. I have no such issues with Odyssey.
