The Taito Hey in Akihabara is essential for anyone looking for retro arcade games. Genres are divided by its six floors, with the older stuff higher up. It's also the only place I know of to play the original Densha de Go. It's as hard as everyone says it is.
Golden how "one of the most community-friendly game developers for over a decade" openly turned their back to an entire platform because they thought it would be too hard.
This is the only positive we can take from Undertale being on Switch, and the only really exciting news to me. Now if only Nintendo would license me as a developer already.
I just regard it as kind of there. The physical stuff isn't coming back and this shouldn't be viewed as a replacement or anything, just an incidental little thing. The savings are like the Steam trading cards in terms of returns, only a dollar or so back on regular activity but a dollar is a dollar.
They kept Miiverse running for years and that was a well-known sasspool so I hardly think that negative comments would be the only reason the reviews are out.
@SBandy The usual response is to politely say that there are no plans. Of the alternatives, I'm starting to wonder which is worse: Antagonizing customers they can't have or just leading them on forever with quotes about how they would like to eventually develop for them but never do.
@SBandy The fact is that as long as Switch owners want it, they're going to ask. The only thing they can do to stop it other than actually producing this port is to block them entirely.
I'm still disgusted with the way they treated Switch owners over a simple request over this. Now that it's out, we are likely not to see a Switch port until a month before the first updated version is announced, if we see it at all.
I always saw Miitomo as an ask.fm clone, and one I was compelled to do from the start because weirdly, and unlike any of their consoles, it had no filtering or censorship whatsoever. You could use all the cusses you want all day and nobody would stop you, unless they reported you or something. So it was really weird to me that while all the early questions were answered by my friends with the crassest things you could imagine, absolutely everyone answered the question about their favorite kind of bread completely straight without any snark.
I really think separate scores should be tracked when the buttons are used. The gameplay with the touchscreen and even using the buttons for parts of the song just doesn't compare at all.
I can't wait until March 3, 2018, the first year's anniversary of Switch, so everyone can have something else to talk about regarding Switch sales and finally stop beating the Wii U dead horse as they have for the last two years.
I didn't even recognize it as a pun. I thought they just put a soundtrack on a Switch for no reason. Now that it's out that they decided to "tease" something they weren't planning in the first place, they get to join the exclusive club of developers who were too slow to recognize the Switch's success and are paying greatly for it.
Pokémon started to fall off the rails starting with Gold and Silver. It added a few new mechanics, but after that they couldn't stop. The only Pokémon games I played are Blue and Pearl. I finished Blue at least twice but I made it maybe three gyms into Pearl before I couldn't take all the cruft and extraneous subsystems I had to pay attention to. Who thought it would be fun to have to groom Pokémon for fashion contests?
It'll be fun to see the difference between the first two years of Switch games compared to the years when the biggest capacities are available. Imagine all the things that wouldn't have had to be cut from current games if only they had more space.

Re: Switch's Stellar First Year Helps Nintendo Bag Itself An AMD Excellence Award
@faint I did. "Considering it's an Nvidia chip inside Switch, we don't imagine that AMD has much reason to champion Switch!"
Re: Switch's Stellar First Year Helps Nintendo Bag Itself An AMD Excellence Award
AMD is just bitter that they were left behind after Wii U.

@noobsarecool2 All they have to do is give the fans what they want.
