Got it as part of a buy 2 get 1 free deal so I’ll be keeping my preorder, I am concerned by the reviews though as I did kinda get bored by the pacing of Dream Team. It’s been long enough + I miss the series enough that I think I’ll be able to power through on the strength of the battle system at least, plus I use my switch more than I used my 3DS back in 2013.

@Nintendoid720 Same, I’m in the US and I can’t find it, listing must not be up yet I guess. Annoying cause when you search all you get is pages of news stories saying it’s available to preregister.

Nice story. Surprised there was no mention of Miiverse! Helped the system feel alive in a unique way. A level of personality that’s missing from the switch that I hope they bring back in some way for its successor.

PSA to everyone saying they already renewed: I bought another year of the family plan + expansion pack from Target (on sale 10% off too) which specifically says “for new accounts only”, but was able to redeem the code and extend my membership. Got the $16 in gold coins a few hours later (don’t forget you have to go to the offer page and claim the offer before redeeming the code). You can only have up to 3 years of membership but you CAN extend it despite what some are saying.

After going back to the 3DS the last few months before the eshop closure, my biggest hopes for the next Nintendo console are that it has Streetpass and a revived badge arcade 🙏🏼🤞🏼

So uhhhh they just didn’t turn it off? As of yesterday I played the daily challenges lol. Kinda annoyed because if I had been playing daily since the original announced shutdown I probably would’ve reached the final “awesomeness” level (which will be unobtainable once they actually get shut off)

Edit: Its now February 1st and I have been playing the challenges every day for the last month lol. Hoping to reach that final level before it gets turned off (????). Still got a ways to go. Anybody that sees this comment, wish me luck lol

Mayflash adapter probably. Lets you use the GCN pad as a classic controller in any game that supports it.

It's a croc to say it's their philosophy. If he said, "this year we felt it was better to focus on 2015", that would be one thing, but no, he made it sound like Nintendo always focuses on the near term when in reality this is Xenoblade's 3rd E3 and we've known about Yoshi for 2.5 years! This is E3, not some random Nintendo Direct. It's the perfect time for long term hype. I still love Nintendo and their games but this is the most frustrated I've been with them in a while.

Hope they clean up the graphics, but gameplay looked great to me and 60fps is far more important for this game imo

Been waiting for something like this to come along to give me a reason to play these games since I never have. No Wii U version is hugely disappointing. Ugh

Guess I'm going with Yoshi since it's the only retail game I don't have. Meh. Could've been better. Tropical Freeze is the only one that jumps out at me as a nice deal but I'm sure most platinum members already have that

I've played a few hours of MP10 now - all three modes - and I'm realizing that it's not the car I have a problem with, it's the decreased focus and frequency of minigames. Not having a minigame after each full turn is a big mistake / disappointment imo, as they are the entire reason why my friends and I play the series! Putting a stronger emphasis on dice rolls and landing on specific board spaces just isn't as fun.

Amiibo party is good fun but I wish it was a bit more fleshed out. Hopefully in the next game they have at least a couple regular MP 1-8 style boards available for normal play.

Going to the show next week in Boston. Hype!!

Looking forward to the update when it hits the US. I only played an hour or two of this game when I first bought it, so now seems like a good time to give it another go.

@Evenmoresteven I absolutely want more classic Disney franchises as playsets. I was excited for 2.0 but was pretty disappointed when I found out it was Marvel only outside the Toy Box. If 3.0 really is Star Wars though I will probably jump back in.

The US press release specifically stated there would be "a number of physical reward options" in February so I will be eagerly waiting for that. I will have about 2000 coins to blow probably after digging out all the codes I've been saving. I have never spent coins on a digital game, I already have the ones I want...that's how I got the coins in the first place.

I have 100%'d all three games in this series and will be gutted if this one doesn't get localized. Curse you region lock!!

@Skullcruncher Preordered the Majora's Mask console here. I prefer silver to gold in general but it's still Zelda lol. I do wish they had gone with a crazier purple design though. Gold/black doesn't really fit with the game at all.

@Tsusasi In case you're not trolling and are just clueless, amiibo don't impact the game like that at all. They're a bonus and in Smash they don't unlock anything you couldn't get through normal play

Yikes, this is pretty scary. I haven't had any error codes yet but I guess I'll transfer my save and the update to my external HDD just in case.

@SpookyMeths Yeah, I was 13 or 14 when R/S came out and I didn't have much interest in Pokemon by that point (though I still played them, lol). It wasn't until I went back and played Emerald in college that I really appreciated Gen III. Still my least favorite group of Pokemon overall though. I will be buying Alpha Sapphire but probably not on day 1, since dat Smash Bros.

Wouldn't call it lazy but I liked Brawls better and Melee's is still the best. A badass pre-rendered CG wins every time. Too bad

I get what they're doing, but if they get it barely under 5GB or however much space people with the basic Wii U have, then those people would need to have not downloaded any other games in order to fit Oddworld...seems unlikely.

Sucks that the XL doesn't get the faceplates but I don't think I could stand upgrading to a smaller screen size than what I have now. Maybe I'll hold out for a limited edition model of the New XL... sounds familiar, cause it was just a couple years ago I was so annoyed with NoA at how long it took them to release a white model or an LE here in the states. Looks like it's the waiting game again for me.

@ShockeyRai @AVahne It's definitely understandable a technical issue like this could pop-up. However, considering Sakurai clearly planned on having the Ice Climbers in both versions from the beginning, it seems nonsensical to cut them from the Wii U version just because of an earlier promise of identical rosters. Just seems stupid to me. There's no reason to cut them from the console version.

Gamexplain duplicated this, it's real. And awesome/sad at the same time. They should be in the Wii U version.

Slap in the face to people that bought 90% of these games already to get to platinum status in the first place. So disappointed. If you're going to do all digital rewards, at least give us something exclusive like the Doc Louis Punch Out fight.

Iwata was asked a question and he answered it. It's not like he was speaking about Wii U and dodged by bringing up QOL. Some of you guys are overreacting IMO. I see nothing wrong with this, so long as they stay in gaming, which he said they would right at the beginning.
