Yo-Kai Watch has been getting a notable marketing push from Nintendo of America, with the company going so far as to utilise its most recognisable figureheads - notably Reggie Fils-Aime and Bill Trinen - in 'very important meeting' videos. We've seen Bill stuff his face with donuts and both men be rather grumpy, but the third part is easily the most memorable.
Reggie dances, badly, to a cheesy Yo-Kai song. He does it with a straight face and, well, it's brilliant.
We're not sure what else to say, so just watch it.

One of my problems with yokai watch is that most of the enemies seem generic and uninspired.
He's a better dancer than I am.
I wonder what it's like to watch these and have no idea that those are actually Nintendo execs.
So uh... after eating all the donuts and doing all that "honest talk," why aren't they fired yet? Or, at least, why are they still having that meeting in that room, or any meeting for that matter?
I love these commercials, always great to see the lighter side of Nintendo.

Did they air these in Japan before Yokai Watch Just Dance released last week? Would explain how 2 top selling games like Yoaki Watch and Just Dance could sell so poorly when merged together. 7k launch.
Is Ninntdo Life doing something with it's servers? Push Square and everything else loads just fine, but NL pages take 30 seconds.
I'm surprised Bill didn't start shouting: "Reggie! Reggie!! Reggie!!! REGGIE!!!!" to try and get Reggie to stop. Still a great commercial, though!
I actually tried the demo for this game yesterday, and loved it! I'll have to get it soon!
This is the kinda advertisement I want to see in so many different games not just this one. Still something to be hold because more Reggie is always a great Christmas present
Nintendo went from N64 and GameCube adult console played by the young and older gamer, to the Wii mostly a family console. But the Wii U has abandoned the family and seems to be aiming at the young people.
I can't see anyone over 16 finding the video remotely amusing unless you are an Amiibo collector.
Fun stuff.
On a different note, I imagine he's just a lookalike, but the bearded guy on the right reminds me a lot of former employee Chris Pranger.
Bwahaha, brilliant! Watching Reggie dance to the Yo-Kai Watch dance (badly, at that) = priceless. The reactions of the others are pretty good too.
@zool: Yo-Kai Watch is a 3DS game. It has nothing to do with the Wii U.
@rjejr
When seeing this news, I first thought they would be localizing that Just Dance game. Maybe later on if the Yokai craze catches on. I guess the Japanese can see beyond the gimmick of Just Dance with a new coat of paint.
BTW, did Ubisoft ever release the game they held hostage on Wii U?
Very odd looking game and show, but this dance was pretty funny
@sinalefa
Just wait'll Yokai Dance catches on, then we'll all be doing The Reggie. XD
@Blue_Blur
Not sure if Bill can hit that last high note.
I'm starting to suspect that NoA's higher-ups are just using Yo-Kai Watch as an excuse to screw loose.
Sick moves, Reg! And that song just kind of illustrates why I don't think Yokai Watch will be much of a hit outside of Japan. But who knows, I could be wrong
My eyes were not Reggie for this.
@VeeFlamesNL yokai that's why
@sinalefa BTW, did Ubisoft ever release the game they held hostage on Wii U?
I'm not sure if they ever told us what it was. Though knowing Ubi the sequel factory like I do I sitll say it was Zombi 2 with 2 Gmaepads like Nintndo was promoting before they realize they didn't make the Wii U technologically advanced enough to work with 2 Gmaepads. But it was supposed to, Ubi would have known that, and they would ave bene working on a sequel while they were finishing up Zombi U. If PS4 gets a Zombi 2 someday then we'll know I was right.
How can people not love Nintendo?
I don't get why people love this guy so much. Aside from a few commercials what major accomplishment's has he achieved for Nintendo? He's just a corporate executive attempting to appeal to Nintendo fan's. Nothing more and nothing less.
@rjejr that and the fact that Yokai just dance was 10 songs...and full priced.
@Senate_Guard
I love Nintendo, but I begin to more and more dislike the games they make. I really don't understand what people see in these flashy kiddy games...
Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh started this whole nonsense and a whole slew of childish competitive cartoon animal/monster games sprang forth from it. 90% of new games are all marketed towards children and families. The focus is now on Amiibo and 3rd party toys like Skylanders and Disney Infiniti....
I'm not asking for "hardcore" games, but where are the games that put up a real challenge and that appeal to a more grown up audience? Why aren't there hardly any platformers, shooters and fighting games anymore? I have 6 Wii U games and about 10 for the 3DS. I'm still waiting for Zelda U but that's it!
I still love Nintendo but I am just deeply disappointed!!
Well, looks like someone's having a good time. xD
Love these commercials!
@Senate_Guard I don't know, man. I don't know.
@Vriess I can relate.
Wii U and 3DS just haven't had an appeal to me lately. I've had a both since since 2012 or so, and I've only bought 5 Wii U games; 3DS only 4. I've been more into getting games from Wii and GC's libraries that I missed out on, or needed to rebuy due to a younger-self stupidly trading them in.
But yeah, Nintendo needs to get back on track with everything. Stop relying on the same handful of IPs constantly, (Mario, Zelda, Pokémon) and really try to appeal to the older crowd with more than just nostalgia.
@Ryu_Niiyama "10 songs...and full priced"
Sounds worse than Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival.
I'd be dancing up a storm too if I had a net worth of $22 million!! Instead of screwing around in the office he should be trying to figure out how to squeeze out more than 1 Wii u vc title a week!! Good lord
