RCMADIAX may not be the most popular studio on the Wii U eShop, but nonetheless it has about a dozen games under its belt. It was revealed about a month ago that there would be a new game called Avoider releasing sometime in Q1 and we now have a release date for that and another somewhat puzzling release.
Avoider will be releasing on the North American eShop alongside TABLETOP GALLERY on 7th January, for $1.49 and $2.99, respectively. The confusing thing here is TABLETOP GALLERY, initially just a EU release that compiled TOSS N GO, SHUT THE BOX, and POKER DICE SOLITAIRE FUTURE. These titles are all available on the US eShop separately, making this seem like a somewhat redundant release. Here's the tweet:

lol, I wouldn't even play this if it was free.
I think RCMADIAX games are the worst.
I am buying 2 copies.
@RCMADIAX Shut the box sequel please!!
Thx!!
@RCMADIAX I've enjoyed your games a lot, nice easy to pick-up games. Honestly have to say Poker Dice Solitaire and Blok Drop U are some of the more addictive games I've grabbed from the eShop. I know you get a lot of salty individuals talking smack but I think the fact that you press on and continue to develop and grow as a designer is really telling to you as a person. Keep up the great work and push on!
That awkward moment when you realize a developer's detractors and the developer himself are in the same comment section together. Ouch.
The thing is, I know I played this as a freeware game back on Wii made by someone called ThatOtherDev...

@vitalemrecords you sound like a lovely person. Not everyone likes the same things, only a certain type of person abuses others for liking things they don't......
@RCMADIAX Could you report on how well it sells in Japan? I'm particularly interested in how well eShop-only titles do there, but I don't have access to Famitsu's digital tracking outside the top ten and the amount of reviews in their eShop...
@RCMADIAX Ah, I hope for your success, then.
Could you clarify what you mean by "more successful," though? Is it in terms of profit or revenue? Revenue would tell me a lot about the reception, seeing as both regions have roughly the same amount of sold Wii Us.
Perhaps Japan likes smaller arcade-style experiences better? Or maybe it's the eShop being more accessible there...
@RCMADIAX I'm assuming the price for the JP release is 370 yen? So, despite the fact that you have to share revenue with a publisher now (ignoring Nintendo platform revenue cuts)...you make more on a profit basis, disregarding rating licenses for both territories. Wow.
Well, I guess that what you're saying about competition should be true, considering both the TGS showing for the Wii U and how late eShop titles get released in Japan. It must also be why NoJ is bringing titles over there themselves, it's interesting considering I haven't seen them break into the Famitsu digital top ten - which typically has the last titles selling a few thousand units over four or five weeks of sales tracking.
Thank you for your time, and I found this bit:
"My second title published with Rainy Frog, Pentapuzzle, has actually been picked as "recommended" software by Nintendo and featured in their Holiday catalog in Japan."
quite impressive. I'll considering putting it on my buy list once I nab myself an eShop card.
@RCMADIAX I liked the games of yours I've played so far. I'm curious though, as the titles are low-fi/low-budget games(which is no bad thing, they offer great value). If you were able to make a 'AAA' game , as in big studio/budget, what type of game would you make? The style of what you've put out has varying types of games so far so I'd be fascinated to find out what your favourite/dream style would be without limitations?
@RCMADIAX Wait, you're telling me that the Japanese release is actually much cheaper than the EU release? Tabletop Gallery costs £4.09 according to Nintendo Life, so it's roughly 50% more expensive. If that's actually in Euros, that's 10%.
Well, I guess I can infer more about relative unit sales now. It's just looking better and better (relatively) for the JP version.
@RCMADIAX great little game! I was hooked!! The problem was when you do finally clear the board the game ends. I feel you should be able to start a new board and try to build on your score. This would increase the longevity of the game no?
Should do a physical version with all of his games in it. That'd be interesting.
@RCMADIAX well best of luck for Super Robo Mouse then! I'll keep my eye out for it
@TheWPCTraveler in Japan an American dev has to have a Japanese publisher to port a title to the wiiu. The Japanese publisher sets the price while taking input from the dev. Ultimately it's up to the publisher
